Crescent Moon
Natasha.

I took a sip out of the wine glass in my hand as the CEO of Sphinx Enterprises, Mr. Wells gave a speech on the podium at the far end of the large hall.
He was saying something about his son returning from London and taking over the company.
Everyone clapped as he introduce his son and concluded his speech. I looked around the hall for any sign of Mr. Speranzini, but there was none.
No suspicious-looking person or guard. Everyone was either talking or pairing themselves off to dance.
"Sorry to disturb the young lady," I heard a disturbing British accent behind me and I turned around to see a man staring at me. He looked British although his accent was rather disturbing.
"I noticed you are here alone and I thought a beautiful lady like yourself should have some company," he said with his eyes trailing my body lustfully. I had the urge to throw my expensive wine in his face or gouge out his eyes, but I simply smiled.
I had been sitting here all alone and continually glancing around. I think it would be better if I had some company, no matter how annoying just to draw away attention.
"Thanks," I smiled sweetly and dropped the glass of wine on the table before me.
"You're such a gentleman," I added and he smiled in satisfaction, his eyes glittering as he looked at my body.
"Would you mind dancing with me?" He asked, stretching out his right hand towards me.
"Of course not." I courtesied and received his hands, letting him take me to the dance floor.
I sighed internally, holding myself from acting irrationally as he placed his right hand on my shoulder and his left hand grabbed my waist possessively.
He pulled me closer to him and the scent of his cologne filled my hair. Cologne and an annoying manly scent.
We slowly danced to the rhythm of the song being played and at every chance he got, he made sure to trace my waist with his hands.
Put it together, Evelyn. I breathed as I didn't want to act out and draw attention to myself. I don't have a pass and I can't possibly compel everyone here.
I decided to endure his behavior, making a mental note to punish him for this later.
I kept dancing to the beat with my eyes scanning the entire hall again and again.
"Did I mention how beautiful you are?" The man asked in the same annoying accent and he grabbed my waist possessively.
"Yes, you mentioned that already," I replied with a smile to cover up the anger in me.
"Well, it cannot be overemphasized," he chuckled and I nodded, using my right hand to push aside few strands of my hair stuck in my face.
I finally spotted something suspicious. I saw a man walk into the hall, dressed in a wine tuxedo and he was continually stealing glances around.
I made sure to hide my head behind the man I was dancing with and I watched him walk towards the bar.
He sat by the bar and I saw another man dressed in a similar tuxedo walk up to him. There was a swift exchange of something I couldn't clearly make out between the both of them.
"Excuse me," I pushed away the annoying British blonde in front of me and I quickly walked to the bar.
Before I could reach the bar, the two of them went in separate ways and disappeared into the crowd of guests.
I looked around, determined to find them, but my gaze stopped at the bar once more as I saw the rear view of someone who just appeared awfully familiar.
Bloody hell.

I closed the novel on the table and glanced up at the clock on the wall. It was evening already and the moon would come up at anytime.

I stood up immediately and shifted the chair I had been sitting on backward.

I got into my Sandals quickly and I hurried out of my room. I walked to Alyssa's room so I could see if she had left already, but I saw the door to her room open and I quickly hid behind a wall.

I watched as Alyssa walked out of her room carrying a small ash bag and dressed in a short black dress.

She looked at both sides of the corridor and closed the door before walking towards the exit.

I waited where I was for a while until she walked out of the door before coming out of hiding and walking towards the exit too.

I walked out of the door and gently closed it.

It was already dark and I could see the crescent moon in the sky.

I looked towards the left and saw Alyssa walking to the back of the house.

I quickly followed her behind and continued sneaking behind her till she finally stopped at the foot of the forest behind our house.

I watched as she reached into the bag in her hand and she took out somethings I couldn't see clearly from where I stood.

I noticed a golden glint and I squinted my eyes to make out Alpha Jack's compass in Alyssa's hand.

I quickly hid again as Alyssa looked around and over her shoulder to see if anyone was watching her.

Alyssa sat on the ground and she placed everything she was holding on the floor as the moon shone dimly.

You wench! I can't let you what you are about to do! You've made my life a living hell already, I won't allow you to take away the only thing that could possibly be my happiness and make my life even more miserable.

I'm not going to let you succeed in your evil plans. I'll stop you and I'll make sure that I expose you to the whole world.

I looked around me and spotted a stone on the floor. I glanced up at Alyssa again before bending down to pick the stone.

I grunted and swifly threw the stone at Alyssa. She yelped as the stone hit her on the head and she immediately touched her head.

"What the hell?!" She yelled and she turned around, the anger in her eyes immediately changing to shock as she spotted me.
