The car came to a halt in front of the main pack mansion and I climbed down from the car.

I still found it hard to believe that Xander fucking Hardin had picked Rivera Consolidated after all the insults I threw at him.

"Are you sure that's what you heard Kara say?" Nathan asked and I nodded.

"My ears are working perfectly fine. She said Rivera Consolidated was chosen," I said and Nathan shut the door as he climbed down from the car.

"Is there a reason why your company shouldn't qualify to be picked?" Killian asked as he climbed down from the car.

Immediately, Nathan and I glanced at each other.

"Trust me, you don't wanna no," Nathan said and Killian shrugged, squeezing his mouth.

"Okay then, maybe you should go and check out the details," Killian suggested and I nodded.

"Yeah, that's what we'll do," I agreed and faced Nathan as Killian walked into the building.

"We have to go to the office now," I said and Nathan sighed.

"We just had a long tiring journey, can we at least rest for a while and go in the evening?" Nathan asked and I remained silent for a while before nodding in approval.

"Okay, I'm going out now, and when I'm back, we'll leave for the immediately," I said and Nathan looked at me curiously.

"Where to?" He asked.

"Do you remember Landon?" I asked and Nathan stared at me for a while like he was trying to remember where he heard the name.

"Oh, yes, Landon from Gemini Pack," Nathan said and I nodded in affirmation.

"Yes, I met him in a gym two weeks ago and turns out he owns the gym" I replied and Nathan stared at me, resting his hands on to of the car.

"So?"

"He kinda made to promise him that I'll stop by later so we can hang out," I replied and Nathan chuckled.

"Landon is Gay, you do realise that he likes you right?" Nathan asked and I pressed my lips into a tight line, not knowing how to respond.

"Well, I don't know," I replied with a shrug.

"Just watch how you react to him so that you don't lead him on," Nathan said and I rolled my eyes.

"I did kiss a guy in high school," I said and Nathan faced me again, sighing.

"You were trying to figure out if you liked guys," he said and I nodded, remembering everything that happened then.

"I didn't hate it," I said with a smug smile and Nathan rolled his eyes.

"Whatever. It'll be actually nice to see you happy after all your promises to never love again," Nathan said and the smile on my face wore off instantly as memories of Kiara's death came flooding in.

"I'm so sorry," Nathan quickly apologized and I closed my eyes, breathing in deeply and opening it again.

"It's okay, I have to go now," I said and I took the keys from Nathan before walking over to the other side where he was, opened the car and climbed in.

I started the car and slowly drove onto the main road of the estate.

****

I slowly brought my car to a halt in the parking lot of the gym and in took out the keys, opening the door and climbing out.

I slammed the door of the car shut and sighed, looking at the building of the gym. Nathan was right, I shouldn't have made any promises cause I might end up dashing the hopes of others if I made them believe I was ready and available for a relationship.

Kiara was my one destined mate and I would never allow anyone to take her place in my heart. I would never disrespect her memory by replacing her with anyone.

Just as I was considering if I should do this or get back into the car and go back, the door of the gym opened and Landon Steppes out, waving at me with a smile. He already saw me. He was wearing an sleeveless red jersey top and short grey pants.

I could no longer go back so I returned the gesture with a light smile and walked closer to the gym.

"Hi," he said with a smile and I nodded.

"Hi."

"It's good to see you, I thought maybe you had forgotten," he said and opened the door of the gym. I walked in after him and he closed the door.

"I was just busy, but I always keep my promises," I replied and he nodded with a smile.

"Alright, have your seat," he said and he pointed at an empty couch.

"I have to get ready quickly, I'll be back shortly," he said, pointing behind him and I nodded.

I sat down on the couch and intertwined my fingers on my lap, looking around the gym.

There was a gym like this in the pack estate.

I leaned into the couch with a sigh as I waited for Landon to get back. It was definitely a mjatake coming here.

Maybe I was thinking too much because of what Nathan said. Maybe he just wanted to hang out and there was nothing else.

Moreover, he's a Werewolf too soon he might have a mate or find him sooner or later.

I looked up as I saw Landon approaching again. He was now wearing a white and blue shirt, a black Jean and a pair of sneakers.

"I'm ready," he said with a smile and I smiled bleakly back at him and stood up.

"So where do you want us to go?" I asked.

"Ummmm......we would go watch a movie or eat lunch in a restaurant," he suggested.

"Lunch would be fine," I quickly answered. I definitely couldn't go watch a movie with him. Nathan could be right and doing that would be raising his hopes up.

"Alright. I know a restaurant," he said with a smile and I nodded, the both of us walking out of the gym.

I stretched out my car key to him and he took it from me, walking over to the driver's seat and climbing in. Just as I was about to climb into the car, I looked up and saw a man looking in my direction, but he looked away immediately our eyes and he walked away.

Was he looking at me earlier? Was someone watching me?
