Leaving
Natasha


I continued walking behind Dante, trying to stop my wolf hearing from listening to the murmurs of the crowd.


I stopped walking and I glanced up as I passed by where Alyssa sat. Our eyes met and this time, Alyssa looked scared.


I kept staring at her intensely and she finally looked away. I will make sure that she pays for everything that she has done to me.


And my father will face the consequences of his actions to me in due time.


I know it will be impossible to make him pay right now, but I'll see to it that it definitely happens.


"Natasha," I heard Dante me and I looked forward, continuing to follow him.


Dabte stopped working as I got to the section for the pack leaders and it signalled with two people who were sitting there.


The two of them nodded and they walked over to us.


"Let's go back to the pack," Dante said.


"But what about the business meeting is supposed to be having with Landon?" One of them asked and I looked up to see Landon, Alpha Jack's friend walk over to us.


"Landon, can we just postpone the meeting to another day? I'm sorry but I'm not in a right mood and I really need to go now," Dante said.


Landon briefly looked at me and then faced Dante again, nodding.


"Alright, but can we talk for a moment?" Landon asked and Dante smiled bleakly.


He nodded and he glanced at me before walking away with Landon and the two other men.


I saw that everyone in the square began to leave the square in groups and I crossed my arms over my chest, feeling uncomfortable and anxious to quickly leave this place as soon as possible. Alpha Jack and the pack leaders were still sitting and they seemed to be in the middle of an important discussion. Probably about me and what Dante did.


I looked at the four men that just walked away and they stopped a few metres away.


I looked away from them but I honed my wolf hearing, so I could listen to what they wanted to say.


"Dante, what was all that you just did?" I heard Landon ask.


"Yes why did you help that lady?" Someone else asked.


"Just before we came, you were angry at her so why did you suddenly go up there to defend her?"


There was no response for a while and I continued looking at the floor as I waited to hear how Dante would reply.


"Call it a gut feeling," Dante replied. He didn't even tell his friends that I was his mate?


"Gut feelings?"


"Dante, when did you start having gut feelings like this?"


Before I could hear how Dante would reply, I heard a voice behind me.


"Well, well, well," I look sideways and saw Alyssa walking towards me with a devilish grin.


"If it isn't the little slippery sly bitch."


I crossed my arms over my shoulder and smirked.


"A perfect description of you, Alyssa," I replied, glaring at her with the an unwavering smirk.


"By the way, where is your two little minions? Did they desert the queen now that she is being exposed?" I asked and Alyssa rolled her eyes.


"Look you might have been lucky to get away today, but I assure you that in the next seven days, your dear bewitched Alpha will have no evidence to support you and then nobody will be able to save you from getting burnt alive," Alyssa said confidently with a wicked smile.


"But I will," I heard a voice behind me and I turned around to see Dante glaring at Alyssa.


He slowly walked forward, standing beside me.


"I will find the evidence to prove that Natasha is innocent and that you are the real evil person here, and then, I will make sure that you are burnt alive on the very stake that you plotted for your sister," Dante said with a threatening glare and I saw Alyssa look scared for a while, but she quickly hid it with a smile.


"Whatever," she said and she walked away.


Dante sighed and as he faced me, I smiled at me, but he looked away and began to walk away.


I ignored it and quickly walked after him till we got to a car parked outside the square.


Dante climbed into the car next to the driver's seat and I open the door at the back climbing in next to the man seated there.


Our eyes met and he regarded me with the nod before looking back at the phone in his hand.


The car started and I strapped all my seat belt as the car drove away. I look outside the window as we drove through the pack.


I have lived my whole life in this pack, and now, I might never come back here.


In the next one week I would know my fate, and the life that awaits me. If there is a life.


I remember the dream I had and smiled as remember my mom telling me that everything would be fine.


She was right. Everything was fine. At least, to an extent, I thought looking up at Dante who was sitting directly in front of me.


And it took just a few seconds for everything to turn around when I thought that I would die.


I was glad that they made the choice of breaking the bond with Alpha Jack. If I hadn't done that, I wouldn't have gotten Dante as my mate or be breathing now.


Dante who was sitting at the front looked back at the man sitting next to me.


"Viktor, when is the Gala for the estate project holding?" He asked and the man looked up from his phone.


"Ummm.... tomorrow," Vikor said and Dante nodded, facing front.


"Good, after the gala, I am going to be busy for the whole week."
