Petrova Sisters
Dante


I faked a smile as Jack showed me his Mate and I said, "Hmn. Lucky you."


Jack smiled and too, but all of a sudden, he groaned and clutched his chest.


"Jack. Jack?" I grabbed his hand and shook it, worried that something bad happened to him.


All of a sudden, he gasped and he raised up his head..


"Jack, what was that?" I asked and Jack looked confused.


"I don't know, I......I..." Jack slowly looked up and I looked in the direction of his eyes to see the stake where the lady was tied to.


As I look at her, I suddenly felt a strange feeling, an urge and tickle that I had felt before.


"Mate."


"Mate," I echoed out quietly, shockef and confused.


How could she be my mate? Kiara was my mate and she's dead!


I knew of second chance mates, but I don't ever want to give my heart to someone other than Kiara. Not to anyone and definitely not to someone will tried to kill her own sister


I could feel a sadness and agony from where I sat and it hurt so badly. I could also feel the sincerity of her heart and I had this gut feeling that she didn't do any of the things she was accused for.


My heart beat rapidly and this was like I could feel the same emotions she was feeling.


My eyes darted to the foot of the stairs as Elder Logan slowly climbed up with a lighter in his hand.


I stood up on my feet immediately, my heart pounding in my chest.


"Dante?" Jack looked up at me in confusion.


My stubborn and cold self was telling me to let this happen so I wouldn't have to get myself tied to anyone, but everything else in me was urging me to save her and prevent her from being burnt alive.


"Dante?" Jack and Nathan called me and Nathan tugged at my hand to get me to sit down.


Elder Logan stopped in front of the lady and he sparked the lighter.


The urge to save her took over and I immediately ran forward at the fastest speed I could run at.


Elneer Logan dropped the lighter and I jumped up from the foot of the platform to the top, diving forward and placing my hand on the floor.


The lighter dropped on my hand and the flames went off immediately. I heard people gasp and everyone began to murmur loudly.


I slowly looked up and as my eyes met that of the lady, she whispered, "Mate."


I stood up straight, holding my side that had scratched the floor badly when I dove to catch the lighter..


"Oh My God! What did he do?"


"It's Alpha Dante from Black Cedar Pack."


"Why did he stop her from catching fire?"


"Are they related to each other."


I ignored all of them and faced the lady, loosing the gag around her mouth and she sighed in relief.


"Tell me, did you really try to kill your sister?" I asked and she shook her head.


"No," she said with a weak and broken voice, "I didn't. She lied against me," she added.


"Dante, what the hell are you doing?" I heard Jack's voice behind me and I turned around to face Jack who was climbing onto the platform.


"I can't let you burn her," I said loudly and I threw the lighter in my hand away. Loud murmurs erupted in the crowd that instant.


"What is he doing?"


"Dante, what are you saying? No, what are you doing?" Jack asked and he sounded annoyed and confused at the same time.


"You cannot burn her or do any harm to her," I said and Jack shook his head, confused.


"I'm sorry, but Alpha Dante, you cannot interfere in the activities of this pack," Elder Landon said.


"Exactly! He can't just do that!"


"Maybe that witch has caught him in her web!"


"But I can stop you from murdering an innocent person!" I shouted so everyone could hear me and Jack muttered a 'What?'


"Yes she is innocent of the crimes she was accused of!" I shouted, hoping at the back of my head that the gut feeling was right and it wasn't just the mate bond causing me to say something to save her.


"Dante you just heard about what happened and you didn't know about everything that has happened before so how can you say that?!" Jack asked in annoyance and I didn't know what to say.


"How can you suddenly be defending her? Have you met her before? Who is she?" Jack asked.


I looked over my shoulder at the lady knowing she was my mate but I didn't want to say that.


I didn't want to let anybody know about it. Kiara is my one and only Mate and she's the only one I will ever love.


I was only doing this because of the stupid mate bond.


"No," I replied.


"But I am saying this because I have met her sister before and I know the kind of person that she is," I said and Jack froze..


I looked up at the crowd and saw the lady, Jack's mate stand up on her feet in surprise.


"What are you talking about?" Jack asked.


"Yes, I didn't want to mention it before but I've met your Mate before in the compound of the Petrova sisters," I said and everyone began to murmur loudly again.


"Oh my god! Could you be telling the truth?!"


"Did he really see Alyssa there?"


"Could Beta Rufus' daughter really be practicing magic and going to Witches for help?!"


"Apart from Alyssa being super rude to me, I know that members of this pack are not supposed to practice in magic or go to witches for help without the permission of Pack leaders!" I shouted loudly.


"So tell me, did she inform you that she was going to pay a visit to the Petrova sisters?" I asked, staring at Jack for a long time. I looked away from him as he didn't say a word and I faced Elder Logan too.


"But she told me!"
