I bent my head down tired of listening to Elder Logan talk and I felt something heavy in my dress. I suddenly remembered that I had kept a dagger there.
The one that mysteriously appeared in my cell after the dream I had.
I granted as I stretched my hand down so I could reach For the dagger in my dress. My fingers were finally touching the edge of the hilt and I struggled to get my hand further down.
I finally dropped the dagger off and I raised it up. Like I observed earlier it looked as if it was made from wood but it also felt like it was silver.
Strange. I continue staring at it for a while when I suddenly remembered what kind of dagger it was.
I attended and high school for werewolves and we were taught about the dagger.
The Silver Oak Dagger.
It was a special kind of dagger and it wasn't made to kill. I took a look at the dagger in my hand and glanced up at Alpha Jack.
Werewolves who are mates could decide to reject each other, but the mate bond would still be there no matter how much they hated each other.
The silver oak dagger could be used by either of them to break the mate bond
I looked up at Alpha Jack again and this time, his eyes met mine. They were filled with hatred, anger, and disgust.
I was going to be killed and my own Mate was going to be watch it when he had the power to stop it.
Even though I couldn't feel the mate bond, I am not going to die with that bastard being my mate.
I gripped the dagger as he looked away from me. I faced the crowd and I saw that several eyes were on me as Elder Logan kept talking to them.
Some of them were saying hurtful and hateful words and I felt tears sting my eyes
My heart pounded in my chest, aching badly and I looked up to the sky.
Tears began to flow down from the corners of my eyes. If there was really a moon goddess, I hope she was hearing me. I hope she was looking at me as I was being punished for the crimes I didn't commit and as I put an end to the bond she created..
I raised my hand up a bit, holding the dagger to my to my chest.
Elder Logan had already stopped talking and people now noticed what I was doing.
"What is she doing?"
"Is she going to kill herself first?"
"Who let her have a dagger?"
"She's not supposed to die so easily!"
I ignored them, still looking up at the sky, although I wished that I also had a dagger that could really kill me so I could save myself from the pain of being burnt alive.
I saw some people quickly walk to was where I was probably so they could stop me from stabbing myself because they thought I was with a regular dagger.
I needed to do this before they stop me.
I gulped and closed my eyes, pressing the dagger tighter to my chest.
"I reject him. I break the fetters of our mate bond." I croaked out and stabbed myself with the Silver Oak dagger.
I groaned silently and my fingers slowly uncurled around the dagger, letting it clatter to the ground as I lost consciousness for about thirty seconds.
I gasped as I jerked back to consciousness and I saw someone climb up and pick up the dagger from the front.
He looked at the dagger closely and he faced me in surprise and confusion.
He shrugged and gave a signal that everything was fine. I watched Elder Logan as he gave a signal to someone.
The man picked up the plastic keg beside him immediately and quickly climbed up the stairs to meet me.
He opened the keg and I knew that it contained diesel.
I tried to talk and shout, but the gag muffled up my voice and I ended up biting my tongue.
I close my eyes as he poured diesel all over me and the wooden stake. He dropped the keg and he climbed down before handing a lighter to Elder Logan.
"This is the punishment for the abomination she trying to commit and a warning to everyone else that betrayal, treason or murder wouldn't be tolerated," Elder Logan said and he turned around to face me.
He slowly climbed up the stairs and I began to struggle to break free. I shook my body violently so I could get separated from the wooden stake but it was so tight and impossible.
I began to cry again and I remember the dream that I had when I was in the cell.
But she promised me that everything will be alright!! She told me not to worry! Elder Logan finally got to the top of the stairs and he paused for a while.
What did I think? That was said to me in a dream could actually mean anything? I was so stupid!
But what of the dagger? I was hundred percent certain that dagger was not in the same when I go there. How could it have suddenly appeared next to me after just having a dream where my mom gave it to me?
Elder Logan continued walking towards me and it stopped as it stood directly in front of me.
He raised up his hand and I saw his finger click the lighter, a small flame lighting at the tip.
"Goodbye," he said and I watched as a let go of the lighter. I screamed loudly but the gag didn't let my voice escape.
I watch the lighter fall to the ground, but just before it could hit the ground, I saw a hand dive forward and grab the lighter..
As the flames touched the person's palm, it went off immediately.
What the.......
