I quickly navigated to the security footages of that evening and I finally found the clip of where Viktor was talking to Xander.




I zoomed in on them and I switched on the Audio.




"You're going to pick Rivera consolidated to partner with you and you are going to make the agreement super easy and less complicated," Viktor said, staring into Xander's eyes and Xander nodded slowly.




I faced Nathan who looked equally shocked to see this and I covered my mouth with my palm.




"Did he just...."




"Compell him? Yeah," Nathan completed and answered my question.




"Viktor is a fucking Vampire." I stood up and kicked the chair I was sitting on.




I immediately began to run out of the room.




"Wait!" Nathan shouted, but I kept running down the corridor and he followed me.




"What are you going to do?" He asked behind me, but I kept running and as I got to Viktor's office, I immediately kicked the door opened.




Viktor who was sitting behind his desk looked shocked and confused. He stood up and I immediately charged at him, grabbing him by the collar and pinning him to the wall.




I began to sniff his body deeply, but I couldn't pick up any sort of Vampire scent.




"Ummm..... what at you doing?" Viktor asked in a weird tone and I stopped sniffing him.




"How the hell can I not pick up the scent?!" I asked and Viktor's eyebrows furrowed in confusion.




"Hungh, what are you saying?" He asked and I let go of his collar roughly.




"Don't play dumb. I saw you compelling Xander through the security footage," I said and Nathan went to close the door of the office we had left open.




Viktor's contenance changed to a guilty one immediately and he glanced between me and Nathan.




He wasn't gonna deny it. I can't believe that I've been working with a Vampire all these years and I didn't know it.




He on the other hand would know what we are through our scent.




He could hurt us easily and we wouldn't see it coming.




"So tell me, why are you here and why don't you have a Vampire scent," I asked, already getting infuriated.




"I'm here to work. That's what I've been doing," Viktor replied, adjusting his ruffled collar.






I scoffed and rolled my eyes. I was only still calm with him because although he hid it, he didn't do anything bad, but he was making things smoother instead.




"So why can't I pick up your Vampire scent?" I asked, wanting to at least know why and how he managed to hide it.




"Because I can't have a scent," he replied and my forehead etched, confused and curious.




"I'm not just a Vampire, I'm a Vampire- werewolf Hybrid," he replied and my expression slowly softened.




An Hybrid. Hearing that Immediately reminded me of Karen.




"And because of that..."




"The two scents cancel out each other, yeah I know how it works," I interrupted him with a nod.




I placed my palms on my waist and I walked around for a little bit.




"So why did never tell us, why did you hide it?" I asked and Viktor looked like he was thinking about something and when I expected him to say what it was, he simply answered, "Because I didn't want to."




I rolled my eyes knowing that there was something he wasn't saying, but I didn't want to care about it again.




I smiled all of a sudden and chuckled, "If told me, I would have made you compell Xander to make Starnex give up the project and recommend us to lead it instead," I said and chuckled again.




"Really?" Nathan rolled his eyes and I chuckled.




"So are you a part of any Pack? Or Clan?" I asked and Viktor shook his head.




"No."




"I'm Alpha of a pack, you are welcome to join," I said, but he shook his head.




"I've been living a non supernatural and independent live for 5 years now, I think I'm better off on my own," Viktor said and he walked back to his desk, sitting down.




I stared at him dumbfoundedly and scoffed. Pretty cocky hungh??




"Suit yourself," I retorted and I walked out of his office. Nathan followed too and we walked into my office.




I had barely sat down when I heard someone knock the door of my office.




Who was it?




"Come in," I said and the door opened, Kara walking in.




"Sorry, I called your office line, but you didn't pick, a representative from Maverick Corps dropped a letter for you," Kara said, stretching out an envelope.




I stared at the letter in her hand for a while before hesitantly taking it from her.




"Alright, you can go," I said and Kara nodded walking out of the office. I tore the envelop open immediately and I took out the letter, quickly reading through it. As I did, my eyes widened in surprise.




What the fuck?!.




"What is it?" Nathan asked and I handed him the letter. He glanced between me and the letter before taking it from me and reading it.




He also looked super shocked to read it.




The letter was filed with Maverick Corps asking us to give up the partnership for them, along with several indirect and subtle insults.




I scoffed and hit my palm on the table in anger. How dare they send this sort of letter to me. What audacity did they have to do that.




I knew the CEO of Maverick Corps. Maverick Corps was basically a company run by Vampires if one was to say it in plain words.




There executive board and top staffs were all Vampires from the same clan.




"The guts of that man!" I yelled and hit my palm on the table angrily.




"Dante, calm down, it's just a threat," Nathan said.




I was angry that they threatened me, I was angry that they thought I would be moved by their threat.




If they ever tried to anything to show their faces, I would see that I crush them like nothing.
