"Explain what..." I slapped him again with tears in my eyes and ran out of the house without looking back at the compound
I drove home without uttering a word to my mum on the vehicle...
Things went messy in my head and I began to feel my head pounding.
After a while when I'm certain. I went to the sitting room and saw that my mum is enjoying herself and I'm glad she isn't on drugs anymore.
I walk straight to her.
"Mum? What happened? I mean you and your husband..." I confronted her but she refused to look at me.
"Mum...Please I need to know what is going on" I asked again as I drew myself closer to her.
"Fine... your dad and I are living peacefully and suddenly he starts to change... I didn't say much because I know the work is stressful for him... not until he continues to come home late, sometimes 12midnight... Then I became curious... I asked several times and he told me to stop asking... Every night, I waited just to see him come late... So on a faithful day... I decided to follow him and I caught him sleeping around... At first, he apologized and I forgive him but he still doesn't change so I had to tell him to go...I was surprised he left the house for me but since he left, things have been difficult for me my dear" Her soft tune made my eyes gather in tears as I embrace her across my shoulder.
"Don't worry mum... I'll be living with you for now... don't worry...I will make you happy" I cuddle her and make her feel at home.
"Mum... there is somewhere I need to go... I'll be back in a few hours" I whispered and offered her a present I bought on my way here.
I went to return the vehicle I rented before I'll think of going to work. Reaching there, the owner wasn't around and was late for work already.
I then thought of a better idea to take the vehicle to my workplace. indeed it was a nice idea and I drove to work.
"Ha....Mr. Jeffrey... where did you get this car from...The chairman... do something for me... you can't leave here without doing anything" The gateman hailed while jumping in his body...
"Why are you smiling like this... it's not my vehicle" Jeffrey commented while trying to let go of the gateman "It's not my vehicle" He whispers, and the gateman was shocked.
"Oops... and you allow me to jump in your body? You are insane" He shouted and pushed me away.
"Who owned the vehicle then... and how come did someone give you his vehicle just like that?" He drew himself closer to me and whispered to me.
"It's on rent, I tried returning it this morning but the man isn't around... so...I decided to drive it to work but can we talk some other time, let me prepare my office" Jeffrey tried to enter his car but the gateman refused by blocking his way.
"We have a discussion to talk... haven't I told you before," He asked and I tried to push him away but he refused to let go of my car.
"Why don't we do this when I'm free... right now, I need to clean my office" I commented while the gateman still refused to leave the way.
"It's now or never" he dragged me to his chair and said..."Why did you tell the boss that Jennifer slept at my house..."
"I didn't tell anyone... I swear... I didn't tell anyone..." I panicked as I defended myself.
"Then who told the boss? Because you are the only one that knew Jennifer slept here" The gateman stared at me and with a look, I saw grief in him warming to come out.
"I didn't tell the boss...I think it was Jennifer herself that told the boss...I caught her with the boss yesterday but please don't tell anyone" I draw closer to his ear and whisper to him.
"Are you serious?" He replied with shock.
"Keep your voice low...I'm sure... both of them are flirting together...but please... don't tell anyone" I look around and make sure no one is nearby.
"Can I go now... I promise to come back later and see you" I stood up and didn't even bother to stop me... he's still thinking about what I told him.
"Keep your mouth shut please" I whisper while tapping my hands on my lip as a sign of warning.
He didn't say anything to me until I left. On my way to my office... I saw the boss and I was trying to pretend I didn't see him... Thank God he didn't see me.
"Damn...Just one day I didn't come to work... this office is in a mess...What all this...Did someone use this office". I murmured to myself as I opened my office.
' I'm tired... I am even tired of this job... now I'll have to do all the work myself... No one to help me with cleaning up... where is that noise coming from?' I whisper to myself in silence.
"Welcome back... I Believe yesterday you enjoyed yourself but there is a lot of work to do today...Don't worry just do the clean-up..." The secretary approached still with a file in her hands as usual... Since I have been in this company, there is not a day I haven't seen the secretary with a file... it is as if she's doing all the job in the company and whereas I'm the one doing everything.
"Ma'am... wait... did someone use this..office..." I stammered while staring at her file... what came to my mind was that she would not hand over everything to me.
"No... it's just how it is sometimes... don't worry... do your work...I'll come and see you later..." She was about to leave but she stopped... I'm already terrified she is handing over the file to me.
"Hmm....did...the...boss... come today... did he ask me..." I stammered while staring at her since she's not saying anything.
"Oh! The boss... he shouted yesterday because he didn't know yesterday was your leave day but now he's aware... He hasn't asked of you so don't worry... Maybe he'll come and visit you as soon as I told him you resumed" She concluded and was about to leave...
"Wait... don't tell him anything about me today... just continue your work...and don't worry I'll do great today" I stammered again and she glanced at me with a terrified look.
"Wait... are you two fighting... You know it your boss so you should be careful and don't get sacked for your action" she advises while staring at me... Expecting something from me.
"Ma'am... don't worry... it's fine...you can start going now...I need to clean up" I backed her before she left.
At first... I'm weak in cleaning this office...I sat on my chair and for about ten minutes, I was unable to do anything.
I quickly took the courage and finally cleaned up the office... Now I am ready for work.
"Hey....Mr. man... I saw your vehicle... it's like you are competing with me, your boss? Anyway, congratulations on your new car... it is nice and beautiful but why were you not at work yesterday? `` At first, my boss talked with a sweet tune but suddenly he yelled at me.
"Sir...the secretary told me that...she... told me she told me yesterday was my free day at home so I'm not sure there is any need for you to still shout at me because of that" Jeffrey talks with confidence as if he's of the same class with the boss.
"Are you talking to me like that... Are you insane... Do you want to lose your job?" He yelled at me and I can see the anger in his eyes
"sir... with due respect...I didn't mean to talk to you that way but I'm telling you what's true and once again... I'm sorry" I bowed my head with respect as I lowered my voice to him.
"You are insane...Is it because you just have a new car and that is why you have the guts to talk to me this way... I think you won't last tonight in this company anymore... your days are now numbered...Fools" He Shouted at me and I felt pity for him because none of his insults touched me.
"Sir... I'm sorry sir... and... that car over there is not mine and I'm not trying to do any competition with you and besides... what happened the last time is past now so why don't we just forget about it and move on" I replied with respect as if nothing happened... And I watched him draw closer to me as if I had just done something wrong.
"Oh! What happened earlier is in the past now...'' Chuckle"... why don't we move on... chuckle... It's funny, isn't it... I thought you just bought a car but look. to you, that girl is not your class in any way. You are poor and she's poor... So you see it... and... besides, she's not my girlfriend" He whispers to my ear and I can feel my head beaten to be eaten up... I tried harder to control myself not to get myself involved in a scene again.
"Yes... she's not in my class and that's why I'm not bothered anyway... just do what you love best and break her heart... it's what rich men do... you have the money and use it on girls...Sir... if you don't mind...I was working when you came in so do you mind..." He pointed his hands towards the door but the boss didn't hesitate to leave.
Today has been a hell of a day after preparing all the documents I was assigned by my secretary to prepare.
Glad it's closing time... I drove back and returned the car before heading to my stay with my mum.

"Dear... why have you been so cold to me... " Dean entered his home and didn't get any welcome from his maid.
"I'm talking to you... why are you acting strange?" I asked her but she kept staring at me as if I'm an Invisible man in front of her.
"Get me my food, please... I'm starving" I commanded and she headed to the kitchen without saying anything.
I kept on thinking why she's still mad at me, not that she loves that boy or she loves me.
Not quite long before she left, she dropped my food on the dining table.
"Sir... your food is ready" His response was so cold as if she doesn't want to talk to me for the rest of her life.
"Thanks" I replied while I headed straight to the dining table.
"Please come" I dragged her along with me.
"Look at me...I know you have grudges against me but I'm sorry... for not wanting to let you explain... trying to kiss you...I'm sorry for everything I have cursed you" I apologized while staring at that pinky sexy lip which made my heart start warming up.
"Aren't you saying anything... "I held her in my hands but she still refused to utter a word to me...
"I've heard you... you are sorry... It's fine... I'm not angry anymore... how can you let go of my hand" Her voice alone tells she still doesn't want to talk to me.
"Please... I'm sorry...I know you are still mad at me... what about I make it up to you" I commented, still staring at her pinky sexy lip.
"How'll you make it up to me" for the first time, she looks at me in my eyes.
"How about we have dinner tonight together...?" I requested while smiling at her beautiful dimple
"Together? Is that how you want us to make us" She yelled at me and I froze for a bit.
"Yeah... Please give me a chance..." I requested again still giving her the beautiful smile
"Fine...Eat your food, I'm leaving" She frowned and left...
"Tomorrow evening.... it'll be great..." I shouted as she left already. I smiled from beyond and I don't even have an idea of how this dinner evening is going to be..."Damn"...
