Chapter 52

"Mum! But why didn't you tell me you are going to the station to see him... you just left all of a sudden while I'd been waiting here for you... I'm a sorry mum!" I continue to pamper her with her head resting on my chest.
"I'm sorry my son... I just wanted to help him..."Her voice still weakened as I felt pity for her for going alone...
"Don't worry mum... I promised you... I'll go back to the station and teach that boy a lesson for insulting you... you know I don't play with you and one idiot has the right to insult you" I advise her thinking this will make her relieved but immediately as I said those words, she removed her head from my chest and used her hand to remove mine from holding her.
"No... Don't do that... I won't be happy if you do that... by the way... where is Jennifer... it's been a while... have you seen her..." She asked as I nodded my head, making her look back
"Where is she? Is she upstairs?... Come, let's visit here...I've missed her" She looks back while staring at the staircase and the road to her room. I was shocked as she kept on asking me where Jennifer whereas, she was right in front of her...
"Mum! She's right in front of you" I commented while staring at Jennifer... even Jennifer was just staring at us even when she knows that his mum is looking for her
"Oh... " She looks back and Jennifer smiles, bringing life back to her.
"You are silly... so you have been standing here and you can't say anything... what's wrong with you" She smiled as Jennifer walked closer to her.
"Wait... How come... I didn't see you or are you just coming down here... Oops...or is this sign of old age or eye problem...Damn" she complained as she forced Jennifer to sit on her lap while rubbing her back like a newly born child.
"Hmmm..." Jennifer murmured, staring at her while smiling but the moment she looked at me back, her mood changed... giving me the maximum belief that she was very upset with me.
"Have you been listening to what we have been saying?" She asked her and Jennifer replied by nodding her head.
"Jennifer... Do you mind if you follow me to my office... I was about to attend to my secretary but found my mum and that is why I came back... I'll also have something to discuss with you" I looked at Jennifer and questioned her but she replied with a wicked look making me feel she won't forgive me.
"Why don't you follow her..." My mum looked at her but she was still quiet and replied with her head movement.
"Have you two not started to get along... because I remember Dean shouted at you or is that the reason why you have not been talking to him... " My mum quickly said that something was wrong but both of us remained silent as she said so.
"Oh! both of you are not talking to me... wow! So why don't you two sort things out yourself... I'm going to my room... please get up" She forces Jennifer to get up from her leg as she stood up while trying to walk to her room but turned her back.
"Wait... I'm coming with you" Jennifer tried to follow her Dean mum as she turned her neck but unfortunately, she was held captive by Dean making her struggle but Dean refuses to let go of her hands
"I can see... both of you have a lot of things to discuss" She smiled as she seems both of them struggling and walks into her room
"Can you follow me to my office please... we have something to discuss... you know..." I tried dragging her to follow me but she refused while forcing herself to stay behind.
"You are funny... you know... I'm stronger than you and you are trying to prove to me that you are strong... Why don't we settle this quietly and follow me... " I tried again but she still proved stubborn while dragging me back.
"Fine... I didn't ask for it but you ask for it... You must follow me and we must settle anything we have in common today and that is a must" I carried her up like a kid as she tried to come down but I didn't let go.
"Why are you so light? Have you not been eating" I opened my car while she was still on my arm and placed her into the vehicle... I was shocked to see that she didn't even come down but sat comfortably in my car.
"Hi... I guess you pretend not to listen to anything I said back there but it's fine... finally, you are following me to the company... don't you miss the company... it's been a while since you set your foot in that place... so... why won't you be happy that I'm volunteering to take you there..." I was smiling while glancing at her but she didn't say a word to me.
"Jenni... you know...Sometimes... I do a lot of bad things and a lot of mistakes, I hope never to insult or yell at you again... I don't know what came over me that I yelled at anyone close to me... I'm sorry dear... please forgive me... I don't like a situation whereby I'll be the only one talking and I miss those days when we laughed together and played together... I'm sorry dear... I wished things could go back to normal..." I begged as I stopped the vehicle while staring at her but I could only see her eyes covered in tears while her mouth was still shut.
"Jenni!!" I called her twice but she didn't respond... Immediately, I started up my engine and drove straight to the company without saying anything to her.
As we reached the company, I wanted to tell her to join me but it looks as if I'm stressing myself over someone who doesn't want to give me attention.
"Where are you going? Won't you open the door for me" Immediately as I was about to head to the company... The loud voice I heard shocked me and I had to turn back and open the door for her.
"I thought you were mad at me... So... " I questioned in shock while glancing at her but she refused to look at me.
"What do you mean... So because I'm not talking to you... you decide to leave me in the vehicle... all alone... now I know what you are capable of doing" She grumbled and I became confused... I begin to ask myself... is this how true love is? The next thing she won't talk to me and be angry and next is she'll reply to me with a grumbling face
"I'm sorry ma'am... I won't do that again" I apologize as I entered the company... The next thing I noticed was that every staff member was staring at me but couldn't say anything...
"Did you just shorten your company? What's happened to your dress?" Jennifer turned and looked at me after everyone had been staring at me...
"Are you trying to say that you haven't noticed I was putting on this since we came out of the house" I was shocked as I replied to her while she was staring at my designer's shorts?
"What happened to your clothes... I didn't say anything" She changed the topic immediately while pretending to be angry.
"I know you are pretending right now... anyway... I have nothing else in my wardrobe... all my clothes are dirty... I've already texted my laundry to come picked them up so they must have dont that...'' I replied as I held her hands while going to my office. I can see from her body movement that she's shy as every staff member begins to murmur as we pass their office but I feel proud of it.
immediately as I reached my office, I sat comfortably in my chair and dialed the secretary's number to come to meet me up in my office.
Not quite long, she entered and the first person she saw was Jennifer sitting next to me... She became shy and couldn't say anything.
"Sir...You....are... not..." She stammered while pointing at my dress but I interrupt her
"Oh... I'm not in a suit... Yeah... it's normal... I get it...Today, I decided to shock everyone and look different... So what's it that you want to tell me?"
"Sir... sir..." Her mouth was shaken as she was staring at Jennifer beside me
"Don't worry... you can tell me anything in front of us... she'll be my wife soon" I smiled and admired the way Jennifer looked at me as I called her my wife.
"Ok, sir..." She was still scared.
"Sir...Someone came in here today with a warrant... it says... You have only one week left to pay up the 10 million dollars loan or else..." I didn't even allow her to complete her statement as I slammed my desk with force.
"What... What's that" I yelled as I walked towards her and dragged the paper from her with force.
