Chapter 16

"Hi... Good Morning... Hope your night was great..." Dean rushes down to the sitting room and sees his beautiful body already awake.
"I'm fine... your food is ready..." She smiled like the early morning bird and this alone made my day.
"I'll eat if you join me too..." I keep smiling at my damn princess.
"Hmmm... is it necessary for me to join you and besides, it's too early in the morning... can't you eat alone" She stammered and delayed my reply.
"Then I'm not eating your food" I tried to walk away since she didn't want me to join her for breakfast.
"Fine... Fine... I'll join you but..." She stammered again and deep down in me, I was happy but I was too shy to show it to her.
"But... don't worry let's just have breakfast" I rushed to her and held her in her hands...I tried to drag her out but she didn't move.
"On one condition... If we happen to be in a relationship, you'll have to treat me well and not be as cruel and arrogant as you are" She stopped and explained to me and I was confused because of the kind of word she just brought out.
"Have I been cruel to you?" I turned and stared at her with a glimpse of confusion in my eyes.
"umm... umm... umm. yes," She nodded her head gently and was scared to look me in the eye anymore.
"Baby... I'm sorry and I promised never to treat you bad anymore... the moment I treat you bad, you have the right to do whatever you want to do to me and I won't do anything in return" I walk up to her closely and I was about to kneel but she held my hands not makings me to knee down to her.
"Fine... enough of this romantic talk... you should go and eat" She replies, staring at me like I have done something terrible to her in the past.
"You promised to join me for breakfast so why the sudden change..."I look her in the eye and make sure she looks back in my eyes.
"Oh... I forgot...let go if it's what you want" She replied while removing eye contact with me.
We both hold hands and to the dining table with joy in my heart just like a newly wedded couple.
I continued to smile and make sure I sat very close to her during breakfast...
I was trying to feed her but I was so shy of myself that I couldn't lift my fork above my plate.
I stared at her again and we both had contact. My heart started beating as fast as I never imagined.
I smiled and quickly looked at my food but she laughed in a way that I'm happy.
I held myself harder and tried to feed her myself but each time I kept thinking of that, my hands started shaking.
She quickly used the fork and took some turkey...
She stressed it toward my lips and I turned.
I look at her and freeze for a bit but deep down... I'm happy.
I ate the turkey and I did the same to her.
We both smile and continue to eat joyfully.
I have never felt this kind of feeling in my life...
'Wow... Is this love and is this how it feels' I continue to ask myself in silence.
Can't believe I have fallen in love with this girl...
This is what my mum wanted and I'm also happy I'm with her.
Wow! I'm happy I have found one true love... I pray what happened earlier doesn't repeat itself.
"Please I want a favor from you..." I turned and smiled at her.
"umm...umm...I'm scared now..." She flutters while staring at me.
"No need to be scared... it's just a simple request and I'll love you to please accept..." I smiled while staring at her again. At this moment, I stopped eating and continued to look at her.
"Hope it is not a business marriage because of all this rich boy... You know... you people will start showing yourself." she laughed while staring at me... At this moment, I smiled and was happy again for a minute.
"Funny you...It's not a business marriage... Chuckle... I'm having a business meeting tomorrow evening and I'd like you to accompany me to the meeting...please" I request, staring at her with a bitter face.
"Evening meeting... it is for business only so why am I needed... and besides, you are not a kid that I'll look up to you... please I'm not going" She replied forcefully and turned away quickly.
"I'm not saying you must accompany me... but I'm begging you to join me in the meeting... please... I want us to go together...please" I stopped again and stared at her romantically. I know she doesn't want to go but I must make her join me...
"I'm not going... is it a force to say something I'm not interested in... please... I've lost my appetite... I don't feel like eating anymore... and please... I'm not going for the last time" She stood up and was about to leave but Dean held her hands.
"I know you don't like me in many things but look at me... this is the first favor I'm asking from you and you want to turn me down... I'm begging you... please join me... and I promised you, nobody will come to you or spoil your mood" He knelt and begged Jennifer... He even held her feet and pretended as if he was crying.
' What is wrong with this man now... why is he like this? ' My inner voice murmured to me.
"It's not that I don't want to join you but think of it... all of you will be discussing, then I'll be staring at you all like a damn zombie... Think of it" She confessed and immediately, Dean let go of her leg.
"Don't worry... I'll sort something out with you... just promise me you'll follow me there tonight" Dean stood up and begged again by trying to kiss her on her forehead but she refused.
"Fine... I'm going but make sure you buy me something nice to put on... I can't go there looking awkward... please" She draws herself backward and smiles at him... This smile relieved Dean of everything.
"definitely... I'll buy you something nice but please... expect me early and make sure everything is set before I come back from work..." I replied and I tried again to hug her but she refused.
"You should go to work... it's late..." She changed up the subject and quickly headed to her room.
' Dammit... Why is that girl so difficult now... I tried to kiss her... No... hugged... No... what is wrong or am I not the type of guy she wanted or did she want that low-class boy... Fuck... tired... I should go and prepare something at work before coming back for the business meeting with my clients. ' My inner voice murmured while I was entering my car...Indeed it thought but I had to go to work.
I head straight to work and unfortunately, I meet Jeffrey on the way.
"Sir... excuse me... can I have a word with you please?" Jeffrey stopped me at this very happy moment in my life... I pray he doesn't ruin my day.
"Yeah... but you have to be quick... I have to tidy my office because I have somewhere to please..." We both walked towards the building and he followed me to my office.
"Sorry to ask but... sir... how is Jennifer... I'm missing her already... sorry... I know she lives at your place but don't you mind carrying her to work someday? Maybe to say hello to us... please" His voice shows he's kind and has loose interest in Jennifer.
"Jennifer...I don't know if she wants that but don't worry I'll tell her so don't worry... You can stop by at our place and say hello to her... she's your friend...Once agreed to come... I'll bring her here" I replied to him with a smile on my face... It shows nothing is wrong between the two of us.
"Did I ask after Jennifer... No... That is not what I wanted to ask... I mean... the work is stressful and I would need someone to join me... please..." he quickly changed up the topic and I became confused.
"You need someone to join you...hmm... is my ear paining me... but never mind... That is not my business to settle... you can see the secretary or Manager if you need to sort a problem like that... okay... if there is nothing else... you can leave" I became confused and he left without locking my door.
"What is wrong with that young man or am I in a dream earlier... it can't be... He asked after Jennifer... I knew it... he'll ruin my day now..." I went straight to the door and locked it. I jumped on my chair and I couldn't even do anything anymore because of Jeffrey.

The whole day seems rashy and I don't even remember what I did in the office...
I quickly rushed to the boutique and bought something from my princess.
"Hi... am home" I yelled immediately as I entered the house but no one answered me.
"Hello...I'm home..." I yelled again and I heard a lock on the door.
"I'm coming..." She shouted and ran downstairs.
"Welcome, but you came early today...Oh... business meeting... dammit...Did...you...buy... it..." She stammered while staring at me and at the same time looking at my hand.
"You have started this with your shyness... No need to be shy with me but I bought it...it over here..." I dropped the bag on the chair waiting for her to collect it.
"It is a shape gown with three-dimensional ruffles and beads in-between... I also bought you a crisscross strap block heel sandal... It's nice you can go into your room and try it... but when you are done... make sure you call me to wear your make-up" I laughed while heading straight to my room and getting prepared for the meeting.
About a few minutes after putting on my black suit with my black trousers, fitting my black shoes with a brown tie reached my stomach level.
I went down and saw my princess already waiting for me.
"You are beautiful... To be honest" I compliment her while smiling at her like she just won a lottery.
"Hmmm...Thank you for the dress..." She replied and at the same time smiled at me... This is the first time I have received this kind of smile from my princess.
"But... let go inside and let me wear you the make-up" I walk up to her shining my teeth at her.
"No... please... I don't want makeup today... The last time I wore them, I wasn't comfortable... So please just listen to me for once... I don't want to wear it today..." She stopped and I felt pity for forcing her to do something all the time.
"It's your choice... let go..." I smiled harder while hugging her but she didn't return the hug.
We both went ahead to the business meeting.
"Please...Wait in the car... I promised the meeting won't be long" I pleaded with her but at this moment she was confused.
"Wait here? Why am I supposed to be here... I thought we were supposed to enter together and sit together" She stared at me with a dangerous look at this moment, and I became scared of her.
"I'm sorry... but I got a text that no other person is allowed except business associates... Initially, I told them I'm coming with my colleagues and people have been doing that for years but I don't know what happened today that... I was texted not to bring anyone except me... I'm sorry..." I placed my phone and showed her the text but with anger in her, she threw my phone away.
"I'm sorry... I didn't know this would happen... please... I promised I won't be late" I stepped down out of the carry feeling useless for bringing her here.
As soon as I went to the meetings, the others were already waiting for me... it was like I'm the last to arrive... Oh... I'm not the last.
"Hello...Please who are you?" Jennifer talks to a lady who approaches the vehicle.
"Yeah... you don't know me and I won't like to repeat myself... Stay away from my man..." The lady left as she said that
"What just happen?'' I murmured to myself
