"Don't be silly... I'm just caring and nothing more" Madam shoe's daughter shines her teeth with a smile painted on her face.
"Anyway... I just got here... so... Let's forget about it... I'll get used to it anyhow I see it... So how is your mum... and how did you know I'm here" Jeffrey was reluctant as the inspector set forth the bottle of water to madam shoe daughter.
"Hmm... glad to hear that from you...since I stopped schooling, I was helping my mum so I asked her about you... but... she said you have stopped working in the company... I tried asking why but it seems she doesn't know either... Anyway... I'm glad I saw you..." She stammered as she became shy while covering her eyes with her hand and at the same time, drinking the bottle of water.
"Hmm... yeah... I will stop working there but I'm still concerned, what made you search for me because I believe I just heard you clearly saying... you were asking after me and I also believe we haven't met but only see"I stretched forth my hands while she handed the bottle of water to me and I slowly sip as I've been thirsty but too scared to ask the inspector.
"Hmm...Hmm... let... just save it for another day but currently... I don't know why and I can't say it..." She became shy staring at the floor.
"Let's just forget about it please... anyway... how have you been... and can you please tell me exactly what happened and how you ended up here" she commented again, still staring at the floor while Jeffrey was staring at her.
"Look up to me... I know you came into this station with boldness so please, look me in the eyes and talk to me... By the way... I'll tell you what happens if you tell me how do you know I'm here" As Jeffrey commented, she slowly raised her head and stared at his eyes but quickly looked sideways as Jeffrey smiled at the same time.
"Hmm... it was kind of hard... while I was awake and on my way to the market... Our television was on... so as I was about to turn it off... unfortunately, it was on the news channel that very day... So I heard the name... One Mr. Jeffrey has been arrested as the suspect for kidnapping Mrs. Jennifer... When I heard this, I was curious and I asked my mum to join me in the sitting room... We both watched it together but my mum advised me not to take part in your arrest... Seriously... I'm here to know the reason and the brain behind all of this..." Madam shoe's daughter was explaining as her mum called her right in Jeffrey's presence.
"Hmm... I can see... I've become popular... that lady is doing a great job... Good job Rachel..." Jeffrey yelled while the inspector walked toward them and asked... " Is everything alright?" Jeffrey waves his hand while nodding his head, telling the inspector to leave.
"Please who is that Rachel?" She whispered to him as soon as the inspector left.
"Hmm... fine" Jeffrey breathed in comfortably.
"It not easy for me to say this to you... but I kidnapped a lady and the husband of that lady pay the ransom of 6 million dollars... and this Rachel wants me to have only 30% since she's the mastermind behind all of this...I was sorting things out when she meet me by the roadside and warm me to give her the 70%... I tried working things with her but she promise to show me pepper in what I'm doing and now, here am I, suffering alone when we are about 10 in number" As Jeffrey was explaining...tears gathered in his eyes but didn't fall out while he sniffs continuously and the same time, staring at her.
"So... I'm sorry for bothering you but why did you kidnap that lady and who's that lady that demanded a whole 70% when u did all the task... or don't you guys have a deal before playing your ball" She provoked but didn't yell out loudly because Jeffrey uses his finger to calm her down.
"fuck... I'm getting tired of this already... please I'll tell you everything but don't ask further questions... I was once in love with that girl but I gave up the love for her... The truth is... I didn't plan on collecting the ransom but I had no choice because my mother needed three million dollars for her treatment and that is why I asked for such a huge amount... Rachel wasn't even aware I asked for this amount until they paid the ransom and she needed all the claims... The problem now is, I don't have any money to give to Rachel currently...I'm sorry" The tears gathered in his eyes roll out as Madam shoe's daughter wipes his eyes with her napkin.
"I'm sorry for your mum but what were you planning to do with the lady since you said you never wanted the ransom..." she asked but the look Jeffrey gave her, made her scared... " Oops... you said no more questions... I'm sorry... by the way...why did that girl ask for the 70% when she knew your mother needed three million dollars or did she want you to carry out another play... Hmm... people in this world are desperate..." She commented as the inspector stopped in, asking Jeffrey to Roundup because of the time.
"You can't say that... I'm the desperate one...but I'm glad my mum is doing great now... anyways... I'm happy you came to see me today... and when you get back, please don't tell anyone what I told you but greet your mother for me... I'll reach there when I come out of this cell okay... thanks...Oh... before I forget... now that we have known each other... can I know your name... maybe... if we meet somewhere or I decide to call you... you know" Jeffrey smiled winking his left eye on her as she smiled also
"Hmm...I'll do as you say but honestly... take care of yourself... I'll be coming often to check up on you... by the way... I can't tell you my name... maybe, some other time when I visit you... today's visit is knowing what's going on" She stood up smiling and was about to leave the room.
"Please... don't forget... keep this a secret" Jeffrey stood up as both of them left the room.
"Sir... Someone is here to see Jeffrey sir..." Another Sergeant rushed to the inspector while saluting to him as Jeffrey and he was going to their cell.
"Jeffrey? Wow! You are indeed popular" The inspector claps his hands and turns back.
'Fuck... who is this again... Damn... I'm tired... I need to sleep...' Jeffrey murmured to himself as he followed the inspector back to the small room.
"Mum? What are you doing here! Are you fine now?" Jeffrey rushes to his mum as he hugs her, still with his hands' handcuffs together while tears roll down his chin.
"I'm fine... please sit... How are you... ?" She asked, smiling, while Jeffrey was confused as to why she was smiling.
"Mum... wow! Good to see you smiling... c'mon.. look at you... you are a damn princess... I love you, mum! Wow! You look great... where are you coming from" Jeffrey was excited as he jumped out from his chair and peaked his mum on her cheek.
"Don't be a silly boy...I'm good and besides... Someone brought me here... he told me you'll be here... we haven't talked much though but he looks nice and he bought me these nice outfits and makeup...do you know him" She asked as Jeffrey stood up while peeping from the window and all he could see was a man and a woman.
"Hmm... they look familiar I guess" He nodded his head while peeping.
"One of them is called...Hmm...d....e..." She stammered and couldn't recall the name while Jeffrey interrupted.
"Dean? Damn..." His voice changes and the same with his mood.
"Oh... you know him... why did your mood change... com. on... smile to me...talk to me" She raised my head as I looked her in the eyes.
"Yeah..." I responded slowly.
"Jeffrey... I know things are rough for you over here right now... I tried asking what my son did but no one cared to tell me what was going on... My son! I'm getting scared... do you mind... telling me what happened" Her voice changes after much joy from both of them but suddenly, everything changes in a blink.
"Mum! You won't understand... Don't worry... I'll explain to you when all of this is over... I promised... I'll get out of this place soon..." The crying voice touched my mum's heart as she knelt in front of me and hugged me.
"Mum! I'm sorry... Mum! I don't know what came over me... I'm sorry mum... I promised... I'll never try something like this in my life... I'm a sorry mum!" I continued to cry as my tears dropped on my mum's shoulder as she hugged me while kneeling.
