Chapter 13
Heather's POV:
I slowly raised my hand, trying to cover his features and look at the eyes alone.
"I know your name." He said suddenly, still staring at me with those intense black eyes.
I was a little surprised to hear his answer and asked him, "How did you know?"
He froze for a moment, frowned and asked me back in an unpleasant manner, "You stole something that was videoed on the internet, don't you know?"
I felt a moment of embarrassment, I thought this man was different from others, but it turned out that he was also laughing at me.
"But now those videos ......" A smile lifted the edge of his mouth intending to say something more, and I could almost guess what sarcastic words would come out of his mouth.
I stood up sharply and interrupted him angrily, "Of course I don't know, because it's all a lie. Believe it or not, I didn't steal anything!"
"Handkerchief back to you!" I slapped the handkerchief on his chest and quickly left the place.
It wasn't until I felt I had gone far enough that I slowed down and started limping towards the cedar grove. I should have dismissed the idea of making friends here before it was too late; the human mind is always much more complex than the animals.
So thinking, I walked to the place where I often give items to each other with the wolf. The gold coins from last time were gone, and now there was nothing on the trunk of the tree. The wolf shouldn't be out yet, and I want to sit here until the evening. I'll meet him then and I'll go to the auditorium for the game.
I only have him as a friend, and even though he doesn't talk, I just want to see him. He can give me an unspeakable sense of security that no one else can give. But after sitting for a while, I suddenly realized that I must be all dirty and have blood on my face. I hesitated to go back and tidy up and come back, but my body was so tired that I didn't want to move when I sat down.
Leaning against the tree trunk, bathed in the warm sunlight, I drifted off to sleep.
In my dream, I dreamed that a big fireplace was roasting me, and then I woke up with heat. There was a furry touch around my face, and I opened my eyes in confusion, not responding for a moment.
Surrounded by thick black hair, it was as if I had a wide heat blanket underneath me, and a moving one at that.
I moved my eyes forward a little and saw a pair of short, pointed ears, also furry. Perhaps because I was still awake, I got a lot bolder and leaned forward a few steps and grabbed one of the ears.
There was a sudden shaking beneath his body, and the ear in his hand twitched uneasily.
I came to my senses and realized that I seemed to be on top of the big wolf, now with his ears in my hands.
"Ah, I'm so sorry, I didn't wake up just now!" I said in a panic, immediately letting go of my hand and retreating to my original position to sit honestly.
This is so offensive and a bit too indulgent, even for a friend.
I looked down, although the big wolf was lying on his back, but this height I still can not go down. Now that it's dark, I have to get to the auditorium as soon as possible to do so.
"Mr. Big Wolf, I'm sure you have a way to get me down there, I need to get back to school for the show as soon as possible." I said to the wolf beneath me.
Just as I finished my words, I felt a shaking beneath me, and I immediately grabbed the wolf fur in front of me. The big wolf was slowly rolling over in a lying position, and he didn't stop until my feet could touch the ground.
"Okay, that's fine." I rolled off of him and walked over to him.
Even in the lying position, his head was much higher than mine. He had to rest his head on his forelegs to barely meet my eye level.
I smiled and walked up to him, stood on tiptoe and touched his nose. He looked at me meekly, his thick, curly eyelashes blinking slowly, looking a little lazy.
I lifted the hem of my skirt and turned it in front of me, deliberately showing it, "This is the dress I prepared myself."
He stretched out a paw of his forelimb, hooked my sleeve with sharp nails and tugged, and those eyes seemed to be a bit disgusted and dissatisfied.
"The dress you gave me will be worn later, it's just a small competition, there's no need to dress up so much." I said to him.
With that, I carefully rescued my sleeve from his paws.
The big wolf inclined his head and then slowly turned around.
"Are you angry? I just cherish that dress too much. I actually wanted to wear it, but I was afraid I'd get the dress dirty." I thought he was leaving and hurriedly explained to him.
But he didn't leave, he just turned around and grabbed something. When he turned back again, he had an extra box in front of his paws.
"Oh my God, is this a gift from you too? Where did you get all this stuff?" I looked at the things in his hand in surprise, expectant and a little worried at the same time.
As an animal, where did he find these things?
The wolf naturally had no answer to my question as he pushed the box to my feet.
I went back up and touched its nose, "How about I give you a name?"
The big wolf tossed his head as if to show his refusal, which made me a little lost. He stretched out his paw and pushed the box on the ground again.
"Well, let me start by looking at your gift."
I squatted on the floor, opened the box and was once again amazed by what was inside - inside was a pair of aqua blue high heels that were crystal clear and looked as beautiful as crystal.
"Is this really for me?" I looked at the big wolf in surprise. The big wolf nudged my hand holding the box with his paw again.
"Well, thank you, but ......" I felt a little sad and said to the wolf, "Always receiving these gifts from you will make me feel uneasy, and I may never be able to present you with anything of equal value in my life. "
He sent me everything I needed, as if he could read my mind, and I think he could understand what I meant.
"Woo--" The big wolf suddenly threw back its head and howled, then turned and ran away.
It all happened so fast that I couldn't catch up with him. The game was about to start, so I had to take my shoes and walk back. I went back to my dorm and put my shoes on before hurrying to the auditorium. The singing competition had already started, but it wasn't my turn to go on stage yet.
I went into the bathroom next to the stage, covered my face with foundation, and took care of the stained areas of my dress.
Looking in the mirror, it looks like I'm back to my old self. Much neater and cleaner, and there should be no more problems with grooming.
Although I was sure that I could win the competition, it was my first official competition, so I was inevitably a little nervous.
I looked around, the toilet doors were hidden, no one should be here. I swallowed a few mouthfuls of saliva, opened my lips slightly, and let out a few short syllables from my throat first.
After moistening my throat, I began to whisper the prepared song. Every time I sing, I feel extraordinarily relaxed and completely immersed in my song.
When the song was finished, my tone had just fallen when crisp applause suddenly rang out behind me.
