Chapter 41
Heather's POV:
Bonnie's challenge came again, and even though I wasn't ready for it, I had to meet her challenge.
The venue for the duel is at the lake. The rule is to defeat the opponent within one hour, and the slogan at the end of the match is to admit defeat. If the time is up and the challenger has not defeated the challenged, the challenger is considered the loser.
Aemon was the judge of this duel, and when Aemon shouted the command to begin, my body moved faster than my brain, after all, Aemon had been shouting two words at me for the past month. bonnie's reaction was a fraction of a second slower than mine, but she was fast and was in front of me instantly, her fist almost swinging at my nose.
I narrowly dodged a blow with my head, but she struck again with her next blow. This time I didn't dodge and she hit me in the side of the waist. There was an immediate soreness where the blow had been struck. I had extra time to feel the pain as Bonnie's fists rained down and I was in a passive position at the start of the fight, having to dodge and back up in a hurry.
"Is that all you have to offer to dodge?" Bonnie taunted, looking at me with disdain in her eyes, and lifted her foot to kick me hard in the head.
I tried to hold her leg, but her leg strength is too big, I can only barely resist the kick, or was knocked back a few steps, just stepped into the water.
"Heather!" exclaimed Aemon at me as I fell into the water, but I quickly got up from the water, my clothes getting wet against my body, and there were immediate jeers from the wolves watching around me.
"It's so pointless to fight you. If you want to leave alive, admit defeat now and get out of here immediately, and I can consider letting you go." Bonnie looked at me with contempt.
"I'm fine." I looked at Aemon and Zoie and Bria who were worried about me, then turned my head back to Bonnie and assumed a fighting stance, "Come on, I'm not going to admit defeat."
Bonnie stared at me with sinister eyes and said in a cold voice, "Then you can go to hell!" After saying that, she lunged at me again, that look like a fierce beast.
Perhaps because in the water, my body became more sensitive, quickly turned to avoid her blow, Bonnie because of inertia flung into the water, became as lame as me.
Bonnie became a little cranky and I quickly recalled in my head what Aemon had said to me. This time I stopped dodging and instead slammed into Bonnie, her fist slicing across my cheekbone and me hitting her shoulder socket.
A hit to this area would put the shoulder into a brief state of paralysis, and seeing Bonnie's features become distorted, I attacked her again.
This time I hit her in the sternum, this time with the effect of weakening her waist and abdomen, and Bonnie immediately bent over after I hit her. I have not tried this feeling, but looking at Bonnie's suddenly white face, I guess it must be unpleasant.
Bonnie sensed my set-up and tried to counterattack, but her body seemed to be unable to exert any force. I found another opportunity to attack her and kicked her in the knee socket, and Bonnie fell into the water in a prone position.
Aemon said that you can't relax until the duel is over, and even though I had the advantage now, I didn't dare to take it lightly.
I did not hesitate for half a moment, quickly ran to where Bonnie fell into the water, rolled over and pressed her body, hooked her jaw with my small arm and lifted her face up: "Want to admit defeat?"
"Bah! Don't you even think about it!" Bonnie struggled hard underneath me.
"Don't be soft, Heather, fight until she admits defeat." Bria shouted from outside the venue.
Bria was right, I couldn't be as weak as I had been, or I would end up suffering myself. I pressed Bonnie's head into the water and picked it up after thirty seconds, a trick I learned with Aemon.
Bonnie struggled so fiercely that she nearly toppled me over several times, and I had to hit her repeatedly on the back of the head again, where being hit can cause dizziness, as Aemon had told me.
Finally, in the midst of one of my blows, Bonnie weakly shouted out a cry of concede, and only then did I stop my attack. I looked up and looked around, and all the contemptuous stares around me disappeared, and they all stared at me incredulously.
I released my grip on Bonnie's hand and was just about to end the fight when Aemon's panicked voice came through: "Look out!"
When I tried to get out of the way it was too late, Bonnie, who had just looked weak, suddenly turned around and sprinkled a handful of powder on me. I only had time to see her sinister and poisonous expression before something went into my eyes and my face, and they all felt like they were on fire, sending a sharp burning sensation to my brain.
This drug must be corrosive, I may be disfigured! I screamed in pain, covered my face with my hands, took a few panicked steps but fell into the water. The sounds around me were noisy, I heard Aemon's angry roar, and Bonnie's screams.
"Crazy woman, I will expel you from the wolf pack!" Aemon said angrily.
Soon, I was being picked up. Even though I couldn't see, I knew it was Aemon's embrace. I covered my face hard, but I was still worried that Aemon would see me, so I pushed my face into his chest. The rotten facial skin rubbed against the fabric and sent a more intense pain that made my body tremble.
"Heather, don't touch the wound, just hold it a little longer, the community doctor will be here soon." Aemon's anxious and panicked voice rang out above my head.
I gave a small nod, but still didn't put my hand down.
"Heather, put your hands down, okay?" Aemon whispered to persuade me, his voice a little choked.
Then I felt a warm, soft object land on my forehead, like Aemon's lips, "I'm sorry, Heather, I hurt you again."
A hot tear dropped on the back of my hand, and I finally let go of it as if I had been burned.
Aemon's POV.
The scarlet festering wounds covered Heather's face, and I didn't feel a bit of fear, only a knife in my heart. If I had run faster, I might have been able to stop Heather from getting hurt.
This was definitely a premeditated aggravation, Bonnie's mind was so malicious, I never thought women's jealousy was so terrible. To prevent Bonnie from escaping, I broke her arms and legs and ordered Vito to be arrested. It wasn't enough, I would never get around them easily, but now I had to treat Heather's wounds first.
"Hahahaha!" Bonnie, who was pinned down than Bria, suddenly burst out laughing and said viciously, "No one can save this bitch, her face will continue to fester until she's dead!"
"Shut the hell up!" I snarled at her, "Give me the antidote immediately or I will make you suffer the same pain."
"There is no longer an antidote, and whatever you want to do to me, I am not afraid." Bonnie said indifferently.
"Damn, you crazy bitch!" Bria threw a slap at her face.
"Fight! You better beat me to death!" Bonnie looked at Bria viciously, "Your best friend won't live either."
"Bria, use the mermaid's powers to induce her to speak up." I immediately said to Bria.
"Good." Bria opened her lips slightly and sent out a series of sound waves that I had never heard before. I and the others were not affected in any way, but Bonnie's expression gradually became numb and her eyes began to lapse.
Bria gave me a look and I asked tentatively, "Bonnie, tell me, what was the poison you sprinkled on Heather's face? Where is the antidote?"
Bonnie eyes dull, slowly said the name of a drug, that seems to be bought from human society forbidden drugs, and there is no way to unlock, the effect of the drug caused irreversible damage.
I felt a sudden chill in my heart, while I felt Heather gripping my clothes and a thin whimper in her throat. The clan doctor came and said there was no antidote, only a temporary restraint on the spread of the wound.
"We could send the princess back to the sea, scallops have a restorative effect on mermaids." Zoie said, looking a little worried, "but that might be discovered by Clemm's men."
"I'm coming with you guys and I'll protect Heather," I said immediately.
"But werewolves can't stay underwater for long, and according to the territory convention, werewolves can't set foot in mermaid territory without being invited, and Clemm might use this opportunity to launch an attack on the werewolves." Zoie said.
"Don't go ......Aemon, don't go." Heather struggled uneasily in my arms, making hoarse noises.
"Calm down, Heather," I said after a moment of reflection as I held Heather's panicked waving hand, "Then I'll follow you in the boat, I can sense Heather's condition, and if you're in danger, I'll come down immediately. "
"Aemon ......," Heather was still calling my name.
"Don't worry, it's going to be okay." I kissed Heather on the forehead.
