Chapter 36

Heather's POV:
I was still a bit uncomfortable after coming to Busa forest. I don't know what Aemon told his parents, but although they promised us access to their territory, the wolves here are wary of us.
Except for Aemon, no wolves here would treat us kindly, especially a female wolf that looked like she treated us as prey. As soon as they see me, they immediately turn into wolves, which is what wolves look like when they go into battle.
If it wasn't for the fact that Aemon was with us, they would have come up and attacked me. Aemon is the only person I feel safe with here.
Zoie also asked Aemon to teach me to fight while I was away, and Aemon actually agreed.
I was suddenly too busy to care about the wolves' unkind eyes on me. zoie's training of me was usually in the room, and no wolf dared to disturb us when Aemon was training me.
Zoie told me that mermaids with sea scales can call the wind and rain, turn the land into an ocean, and create illusions. In addition, the sea scale also has a powerful ocean power, with fighting skills can easily defeat the enemy, but the latter belongs to the latent power, only in emergency situations can be used.
However, not only did I now not know how to use the basic abilities, I didn't even know where the sea scales were located on my body. So the first day of training consisted of finding my sea scales.
"Princess, close your eyes, relax your body and feel with your heart the direction of your blood flow, the sea scale is where the blood finally converges." Zoie said beside me, in a gentle tone.
I listened to Zoie's guidance and closed my eyes to feel with my heart, but my mind could not calm down.
Half an hour later, I said discouraged, "Sorry, Zoie, I can't do it."
"It's okay, practice a few more times, you learn to feel it." Zoie says, "When you want to feel it with your heart, it will come."
After finishing the training, Aemon brought us food, but I didn't have much appetite because I didn't find sea scales.
"What's wrong with you Heather?" said Aemon, looking at me with concern and offering to help me with a plate of chopped beef.
"Thank you, please." I hastily took the plate and said in frustration, "I'm so useless, I can't quiet my mind to find out where the sea scales are."
"Don't rush, you fill up your stomach first, I might have an idea." Aemon said with a smile.
"What's the solution?" I immediately shot up.
"First you eat your meal and I'll tell you." Aemon said mysteriously.
He now looked like he was fooling a child who didn't like to eat. I felt a little embarrassed and argued, "I'll eat, I'll eat even if you don't tell me."
Aemon smiled dotingly, the ends of his eyes would lengthen when he smiled, and his thick eyelashes would intertwine, making his eyes appear deeper.
The heart began to flutter irregularly again, I did not dare to look more, buried his head in the dinner plate.
After eating, I looked at Aemon expectantly, "I'm done eating, what's the solution you're talking about?"
"Actually, this is a very simple solution." Aemon said, "As long as you sing you can quiet down, this solution works for me and I believe it will work for you too."
"Really? I didn't think of that at all just now." I looked at Aemon in surprise, "But why do you think this solution works for you?"
"This ......" Aemon's expression looked a little embarrassed.
I realized I might have asked a question that would touch on his privacy "Sorry, I'm just asking, if you don't feel comfortable, you don't have to answer me."
"There's nothing inconvenient about it, I'm just worried you'll make fun of me." Aemon laughed helplessly.
"I won't." I said immediately.
"Well, I actually told you about it, but I lied a little at the time." Aemon looked at me and said.
"What is it?" I queried.
Aemon suddenly lowered his voice and said, "It's about the cedar grove, the pervert you saw, actually I was not running naked because it was too hot."
"Then what is it because of?" Although I could sense that Aemon did not really want to say, but the more he did, the more curious I became, and I could not help asking questions.
Aemon's throat rolled up and down a few times before he hesitantly said, "Because - I'm in heat."
"Huh?" My mouth opened wide in dismay, and perhaps to ease my embarrassment, I subconsciously asked another stupid question, "Do werewolves go into heat, too?"
"Of course I will." Aemon said with a smile and a much lighter tone. He looked at me meaningfully and added, "Animals do."
I felt the hot blood rushing to my face, I don't know if Aemon could see it, I felt my face was on fire.
"Do you want to try it?" Aemon suddenly asked.
"Try what?" I snapped my head up to look at him.
I felt my throat go a little dry and my heart beat so fast it was about to jump out.
Aemon raised the corners of his mouth to reveal a wicked smile as he slowly approached me and lowered his voice to whisper in my ear, "Yes, of course, try singing."
I breathed a sigh of relief, feeling embarrassed and imperceptibly lost. I would once again be surrounded by shame as I confronted the dirty thoughts inside me.
I don't know what's wrong with me. I was so obsessed with Aemon's look, voice, and desire for his touch and fondling that I felt like a pervert.
"Then why don't I sing a song for you? But I don't know how much I know, so I don't know if you'll like it." I said to Aemon, trying to distract myself in this way.
"It's okay, I like any song that you sing. I love your voice, I can feel your emotions through your songs, it's amazing, isn't it?" Aemon said with a smile.
Zoie left after Aemon's arrival, and now it's just Aemon and I. Now we're sitting by the fence, and we can see the glistening lake not far away through the interlocking dark branches of the trees.
Aemon's smile was pleasant and sincere, and it seemed like the first time I had seen him smile like that, and I was once again charmed. I should have realized earlier that Aemon is a handsome man.
"What's on your mind Heather," Aemon asked, looking at me with gentle eyes.
"Oh, I was thinking about what song to sing." I said with some panic as I covered the spot of my heart.
"Thought of something? Just sing what you do best." Aemon said.
"Come to think of it." I said. After a pause, I opened my lips slightly and began to chant.
The first time I heard this song, my mom was singing it to my dad, and after finding me eavesdropping, she took me in her arms and asked with a smile, "Did my baby learn it?"
Mermaids are very talented at singing and only need to hear it once to get it, so I nodded.
My mom complimented me on my intelligence first, as usual, and then she told me, "Heather, when you meet the love of your life in the future and want to express your love, sing this song to him."
At that time, I didn't know the meaning of lover, but I remembered the song. However, now when I look at Aemon, this is the only song that comes to my mind and I want to sing it to him.
When the song finished, the surroundings suddenly became quiet and I looked nervously at Aemon.
Can he hear my expressions of love?
When I looked over at Aemon, I found him still looking at me intently, his expression a little dumbfounded.
"Aemon?" I called out to him tentatively, "I'm done singing, what do you think?"
I had forgotten that the original purpose of singing was to find sea scales, and I was now more interested in knowing how Aemon felt.
"It's beautiful, very beautiful." Aemon responded, his eyes glowing with excitement, "I haven't heard you sing this song before, it's so wonderful, I can feel your happy and sweet mood!"
Aemon could really hear my mood in my song, but ...... he didn't seem to know what I was trying to express to him.
This made me a little lost.
"I want to make sure of one more thing, and this might be a little offensive." Aemon added, his eyes a little torn and nervous.
"What? You can ask." I said, pretending to be calm, but in fact my whole body was feverish and my heart was almost in my throat.
"Heather, you love me, don't you?"
