Chapter 48
Heather's POV:
"One!" Tina suddenly bellowed, and a series of gunshots followed.
Many of the bullets hit the walls and splattered a lot of dust. When our vision became clear, Professor Roy's body was already covered with gunshot holes. He rolled his eyes for one last look at Tina and then fell to the ground. Luckily Aemon dodged fast enough, otherwise he would have been injured as well.
"Damn! Good death!" Tina laughed maniacally, but tears rolled down from her eyes.
"Crazy woman!" Aemon cursed and patted the dust on his body, "This place is not long to stay, let's take her away first."
We had to leave the place first and took Tina back to Busa Forest. We put Tina in the interrogation room, Zoie to charm her to talk, and finally learned where my adoptive parents went.
This was indeed Clemm's plot to use Professor Roy's desire to study the alien population and work with him to capture my adoptive parents, then use my adoptive parents to lure me into appearing.
It just didn't occur to Clemm that these humans would be so vulnerable and stupid.
After telling me about Clemm's plot, Zoie looked at me worriedly: "Is the princess going to rescue your foster parents? I'm afraid it's a little difficult at the moment, after all Clemm has an army at the bottom of the sea."
"But we have been training for so long, can't we still defeat Clemm?"
"Actually, the king and queen asked me to train you to use sea scales because they want you to have the ability to protect yourself in the future, and they don't want you to go back to the bottom of the sea to take risks." Zoie said.
I dropped my eyes in loss, "Well, I have to think about it."
In the evening, Aemon came to my room. I remembered that I had promised to go to him tonight, but now my whole heart was filled with worries.
Opening the door, I looked at Aemon and said in a low voice, "I'm sorry, Aemon, I may not be in the mood to keep you company today."
"That's okay, I can come and keep you company, would you like to talk to me?" Aemon looked at me gently, his hand propped up on the door frame, his strong arm was extremely powerful.
"Okay, come on in." I pulled Aemon into the bedroom.
When I came in, Aemon put his arms around me and kissed me with his head. I resisted a little at first, but then became absorbed in it, forgetting my troubles for a short while.
The kiss ended and Aemon sat on the bed with me in his arms, hooking his mouth in a smile, "There, Heather, now we can talk."
Talk about what? I was kissed by Aemon and my mind went blank, my body went weak, and I leaned helplessly against his chest to calm my breath.
After a while, I finally slowed down and buried my head and whispered, "You're bullying me, Aemon, you're getting bad."
"I'm not, it's just that you're so tempting." Aemon whispered, "And I want you to be able to forget about those troubles."
"But it's running away from the trouble, and if I don't fix it, it'll always be there." I said despondently.
"So now we can talk about what we're going to do about the worries." Aemon said.
"What's the solution?" I looked at Aemon and said with loss, "I'm too useless to fight against Clemm's army."
"If you defeat Clemm, his army will also scatter, an army without a leader is a scattered piece of sand." Aemon looked at me and said, "Now you won't have to think about how to deal with the army, just how to deal with Clemm."
With Aemon's words, my eyes widened and I looked at him with a surprised look, "You're right, Aemon, as long as Clemm is defeated, the army will have nothing to fear."
"Well, if you train well, you can definitely defeat that old guy." Aemon continued to encourage me.
"So you agree with me to save them, right?" I asked expectantly.
"Of course, I not only agree with you to go, I will also accompany you." Aemon affirmed.
"No, Aemon, you can't go down to the bottom of the sea." I objected, "The last time you dived to the bottom of the ocean your eardrums were broken."
"Heather, you can't do this to me." Aemon kissed me on the top of my hair and said in a low voice, "You went to save them because you love them, and I went with you because I love you."
"Since I believe you are capable of saving them, shouldn't you also believe that I can protect you as well as myself?" Aemon looked at me with focused eyes.
His eyes were still so deep that one would sink into them at first glance, especially when his gaze was focused.
If Aemon is also a mermaid, then he must be the most compelling mermaid.
"Okay, then don't dive so deep when you get there." I compromised.
"Don't worry, Clemm can catch your adoptive parents in the water, which means he must have a way to make the fey breathe in the water, otherwise your parents would have died long ago, I'm afraid, and he wouldn't be able to threaten you." Aemon said in a calm analysis.
I lowered my eyes and thought for a moment, then nodded, "You're right, Aemon, we need to find a way to get that medicine."
"Tomorrow have Zoie ask that crazy woman again, maybe she knows what that drug is." Aemon said.
"Good." I nodded my head in agreement, feeling a lot lighter.
"Now can we do something that belongs to us?" Aemon smiled and looked at me.
I shyly bit my lips, while then circled his neck, raised my head and took the initiative to kiss ......
The next morning, Aemon and I were still chatting in bed when a werewolf suddenly came and told Aemon that they had caught two sneaky red-tailed mermaids at the junction of the forest and the ocean.
Aemon put those two mermaids in the interrogation room as well, and without too much effort, he learned what they were here for.
These two mermaids are also part of the army, they were ordered by Clemm deliberately come here to convey the message, received a reply to go back to reply to the message.
In the two mermaids trembling to repeat the complaint, we learned Clemm's purpose. It turned out that he knew Roy's death quickly, so he sent a message here directly.
Clemm asked me to go to the bottom of the sea to find him within a week, or else he would send the bodies of my adoptive parents. At the same time, he also warned Aemon to stay out of my business, or he would start a war against the wolves.
On the contrary, if Aemon voluntarily handed us over, he could leave this present habitat for the werewolves after getting my sea scales.
We were not the only ones in the interrogation room at that time, there were also several werewolves guarding there, so it didn't take long for Aemon's parents to find out about Clemm's request as well.
Aemon's mother advised Aemon in front of me, "Aemon, this is their internal struggle, there's no need for us to interfere, just hand Heather over."
"Mother, you are too naive, Clemm will not keep his promise. When he gets the sea scales and becomes powerful, he will turn all the land into an ocean, and by then it will be too late." Aemon said, holding my hand tightly.
"Besides, are you still afraid of him? He's nothing but a traitor. Just let him come though, we can definitely defeat them." Aemon said.
"It's not a matter of winning or losing, it's a matter of whether it's worth it. No one likes war, and as the future leader of the Busa clan, you should do everything for the survival and development of the clan, and not put everyone in a precarious situation with you because of your personal feelings." Aemon's father said in a deep voice.
"Well, I can take them out of the forest. But I will never give Heather up, and neither can you, or I will never forgive you." Aemon said in a cold voice.
I felt my heart fall into an ice cellar, the chill growing from the inside out. I wasn't worried at all that Aemon would give up on me, I just didn't want Aemon to betray the pack for me.
Maybe Clemm will really keep his promise and give up the fight as soon as the werewolves give me to him. there is no need for Aemon to risk his life for me or betray the pack for me, I know how painful it is to be a rogue.
Thinking of this, I let go of Aemon's hand, lowered my eyes and whispered, "Aemon, you stay, I'll take Zoie and the others out of the forest, as soon as I leave, Clemm will have no reason to start a war."
"Heather, you can't do this, are you going to give up on our relationship?" Aemon questioned me angrily.
"No, I'm not giving up on our relationship, but right now I have to go ahead and take my responsibility." I raised my head, looked at Aemon and said, "Wait for me here, and when I'm done with this, I'll come back for you."
"I won't wait here for you." Aemon shook his head and said, once again taking my hand tightly, "Heather, I said I'm going to face this with you, don't you dare leave me behind!"
Aemon's strength was so strong that my hand hurt from the squeeze, but the pain made me feel safe. He gazed at me with determination, making it impossible for me to say any more words of refusal.
"You're squeezing me, Aemon," I said deliberately.
"You won't let go even if it hurts. This is your punishment for saying the wrong thing, and don't ever leave me alone again." Aemon said with a stern face, but his grip loosened a bit.
"Ahem!" Aemon's father coughed unpleasantly.
Aemon looked at him again, his voice still cold: "I won't ask you to start a war for me, I'll take Heather and leave here, and in the future you and mother will pretend that I was never born."
After saying that, Aemon pulled me around and walked towards the door.
"Stop!" Aemon's father let out a loud shout and Aemon had to stop in his tracks. I could tell that he couldn't leave his parents and his pack either.
"Where do you want me and your mother to go to find another Alpha, you just want to leave your responsibilities behind?" Aemon's father questioned in a deep voice.
Aemon didn't answer, didn't turn around, and didn't leave.
Aemon father heaved a sigh and slowly spoke again: "Since you have found your Mate, the position of chief I should also give you. This war is considered a test for you, you have to ensure that you can lead the clan to victory in order to be qualified for this position."
"Do you hear me? Little bastard."
