Chapter 57

Heather's POV:
This was Tina's trap, and she still wouldn't leave me alone.
I don't understand why she hates me so much, when I'm the one who always gets hurt by her. This time Aemon also accompanied me into trouble, all because I was too stupid, I should not have trusted this woman.
It was too late to say anything now, there were too many people here, we had to follow the police's orders first.
Aemon and I got out of the car with our hands up. I looked at Tina and questioned her, "Tina, what are you doing? Did you forget that we just saved you?"
No, you were just showing off to me, if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't be in the shape I'm in now. Tina said with red eyes, her eyes full of hatred.
It was useless to say anything now. The police came forward and handcuffed me and Aemon. Tina went up and grabbed the police and asked, "Are you going to take them for experimentation? They are not human beings."
The police officer who was grabbed frowned at her and shook off her hand, "This we have to investigate clearly to know, you also have to go with us to the police to cooperate with the investigation."
This doesn't even need to be investigated, you have to get them under control as soon as possible, or they will escape. Tina said anxiously.
The policeman gave her an odd look and said suspiciously, "You know what? You look more suspicious than they do, maybe you should be given a psychiatric exam."
What are you talking about? I'm not crazy, didn't you guys watch the video I took? Tina said in a sharp voice, her features looking slightly distorted by anger.
It's hard to say, you may have done something to the video too. The police officer did not care to say, pushed her, "Well, come with us to the police station first after the investigation."
Tina was still arguing with the police about something I could no longer hear, and we were escorted to different police cars.
Across from me sat two officers, both with long guns in their hands, who at first stared at me warily, perhaps because I was being honest, before they finally relaxed a bit.
When we arrived at the police station, I only met Aemon when I got out of the car, and then we were separated and put into the interrogation room.
This is a closed space, no windows and no light, the overhead lights shine on people's faces a little pale.
I didn't like the environment and just wanted to leave as soon as possible.
There were still two officers sitting across from me, one for questioning and one for recording.
They first asked me some basic information, then they asked the most important question: "The girl you were with earlier reported to us that you and the other gentleman were not human, do you have anything to say?"
Not human? I stared round in mock surprise, "Then what are we?"
The cop frowned and said, "She reported one of you as a werewolf and the other as a mermaid."
My God, is this girl watching too many movies? You believe such words? I said incredulously.
Of course, she sent us evidence, this is the video about that man. The policeman came up to me and played a video on his phone about Aemon scaring those four hooligans.
In the video, Aemon's face did look a little scary, like a human and like a beast, so it was no wonder the police were out.
I don't remember my boyfriend showing such an expression, isn't this a prank on him? I said angrily.
You suspect this is a processed video? The cop asked me.
I don't know. I said, "But you would have had that suspicion instead of just arresting someone."
You're right, we've checked the video and there's no sign of any synthesis, how would you explain that? The cop looked at me and said.
I told you, I don't understand this. I looked up at him directly and said impatiently, "Why don't you get those hooligans and ask them?"
The policeman looked at me in silence for a moment, as if watching my expression, and then he sat back down in his place.
What is your relationship with the girl named Tina? The policeman changed the question and continued to inquire.
We used to be classmates, and she hated me and tried to kill me once. I said honestly.
You're not classmates now? The police officer asked, catching the point.
Yes, because my boyfriend and I are getting ready to get married and we had planned to visit his parents today.
But I wasted my time saving this crazy woman and then got brought here. I shrugged my shoulders and blurted out, "Maybe you should also check her mental state."
The policeman in charge of the records gave me a sympathetic look, and I knew he had come to believe me, and the interrogating officer must not have been able to tell the difference between truth and fiction, which is why he seemed so hesitant.
The police asked me some more questions repeatedly, and then someone came in and took my blood, which I knew they were going to take for a lab test.
But this is not a problem for me and Aemon, I can use the power of the sea scales to temporarily lock the genes of mermaids, and the blood composition of werewolves is no different from that of humans, the blood test will not find any abnormalities.
Sure enough, it didn't take long for the man who just took the blood to report the results of the test, my blood did not have any abnormalities.
Where is the man? The police asked Aemon.
There's nothing abnormal either. The person who reported the situation said.
They wouldn't hand us over to the lab without more certainty.
Officer, can we go now? I asked him anxiously.
Wait a little longer, those hooligans haven't woken up yet, and your boyfriend has a really hard fist. The cop said with a frown and a not-so-good look on his face.
Yes, but he's a man who obeys the law, and so am I. I said.
The cop looked at me without saying anything, and after a while he left the interrogation room.
I don't know what happened to Aemon's side, but I'm sure he won't admit his true identity either. As long as we insist on not admitting it, and the police can't find any other evidence, they will let us go sooner or later.
Not long after, the iron door was pushed open with force, and the policeman who had just left walked in quickly, and by the look on his face, there seemed to be a new development in the case.
What was sent what? I asked.
Are you anxious? Ma'am, because we have new evidence. He sneered.
I don't know what you mean, but I do feel a little anxious to get out as soon as possible and maybe have a meal with my boyfriend's parents. I said calmly.
Ha, your boyfriend, Mr. Aemon, was once a suspect in the Beast murder case, don't you remember? The policeman said with a cold smile on the corner of his mouth examining me.
I narrowed my eyes and thought about it, puzzled, "Are you talking about the murder case caused by the brown bear?"
Yes, and you better not play dumb. He grimaced.
What does this have to do with Aemon? He was also a victim, didn't you all investigate it? I questioned nonchalantly.
Although Aemon and I had said that Bonnie had done this, at that time I was glad that Bonnie had not killed me too, otherwise I would not have been able to escape from the werewolves if I was still human.
But then the forensic examiner examined the bite marks of other animals on the deceased.
The interrogating policeman once again stood up from his seat, slowly walked to me and said, "It could be a lion, tiger, leopard, and possibly ......"
He paused for a moment, then suddenly approached me and said loudly, "Wolf!"
I was so frightened by him that I leaned back and my body shook a little, but I was faking it.
Satisfied with my scared look, the cop pulled away from me a little and smiled, "It's quite a coincidence that your boyfriend was the original suspect in that case and now someone says he's a werewolf, isn't it?"
I hunched my shoulders, frowned at him, and insisted, "But my boyfriend is human."
The cop looked at me with an unhappy face, "Persistent woman, you better not lie, sooner or later the lie will come apart!"
Okay. I took a deep breath and sat up straight, "Do you think I'd still be sitting here being interrogated by you if I admitted that we weren't human?"
My question stumped him, and his face began to look a little hesitant again, frowning in thought.
What good would it do you to force us to admit that we are not human? I continued to ask him, "Are you guys able to maybe get a high bonus?"
The policeman suddenly looked at me with stern eyes, "Shut up and don't talk nonsense!"
I shrugged my eyebrows and obediently kept my mouth shut.
The interrogation was once again at a standstill until the iron door was opened again.
Another cop walked in and anxiously ordered the cop interrogating me, "Hurry up and release the lady, the Cape's are here ......"
It was Aemon's parents who came.
They were actually willing to get me out as well?
