Chapter 50

Heather's POV:
Bria and I were still in the sea with them. Bria was still unconscious, and I went up and held her tightly. At that moment, a group of red-tailed mermaids surrounded us.
The red-tailed mermaids looked like emotionless statues, and they were holding sharp enough weapons that I let them bind the chains to me and Bria.
Bria and I were chained separately, with the other end of the chain being pulled by a red-tailed mermaid, with them behind us and to the left and right, too afraid that we would escape.
Bria's head hung low and her unsupported body kept falling, with only one chain holding her. I might be able to escape these terrible red-tailed mermaids, but I couldn't leave my friends behind.
As we were about to enter Clemm's palace, we were put into a black scallop. It was Clemm's most loyal pet and a cage for prisoners.
If there is Clemm's order, it will release corrosive poison to those who are locked inside.
Fortunately, Clemm should not plan to kill me now. I guess he doesn't know the location of the sea scale, if that's true, even if he kills me, he can't get the sea scale.
I believe Aemon will come for me soon, I will not fight alone, my foster parents are still in Clemm's hands, I will come for Clemm sooner or later, just now the plan is earlier.
Thinking this way, I no longer felt afraid. The black scallop kept moving forward, and after a while, Bria finally came to her senses, only her expression looked a bit painful.
"How are you feeling?" I looked at her with concern.
Bria didn't answer me, and after a while, the painful expression disappeared from Bria's face. bria's gaze became a little dull, but tears rolled down from the corners of her eyes, and I knew she was missing Zoie.
"I'm sorry, Bria, I shouldn't have let Zoie go to Aemon's parents." I whispered to Bria.
Bria looked at me with red eyes, "Why? Why did you put my mom at risk? Don't you know Aemon's parents don't like us?"
Bria's sad questioning voice stabbed my heart like a knife, and my eyes started to grow sour and hot.
"I'm sorry, Bria, I thought ...... thought they had accepted me." I choked out.
"It's no use being sorry." Bria shook her head in pain, "Heather, you're a selfish person and I hate you!"
Neither of us said another word, and the only sound in the hushed space was the sound of hidden sobs. I don't know how long it took, but my tears seemed to dry up, my face had a sticky feeling, and my eyes were dry.
"Clemm will take me and feed me to the sharks too." Bria suddenly said in a husky voice, "Because you wouldn't give him sea scales."
Bria used a mermaid-specific sound wave that the scallop couldn't hear.
"No, if he threatens me with you, I'll give it to him." I replied to her with the same sonic firmness.
"Then we'll all be fed to the sharks." Bria's tone was low, "He'll charm you with his charm power, and you'll only have one chance to resist him."
Bria's personality seemed to have changed, she was no longer as lively as before, as if she had grown up instantly, which made my heart ache even more.
I looked at her in disbelief and asked, "What does this mean?"
"It's my prophecy to." Bria turned her head to look at me and said seriously, "Later Clemm will threaten you with me and your adoptive parents, don't compromise and don't give him sea scales."
"Then he will use the charm ability on you, when the time comes, you remember to secretly use the sea scale to resist his charm, but you have to pretend to be charmed and attack him when he lets down his guard and approaches you."
"You only have this one chance, got it?" Bria asked.
"What about you and my adoptive parents? I can't just stand by and watch you all die." I didn't immediately agree with Bria, despite her menacing attitude.
"Noah and Aemon will come for us, don't worry about it." Bria said.
"You're not lying to me?" I asked uncertainly.
"Well, I'm not lying to you." Bria affirmed, with a hint of a reassuring tone.
"Do you ......" I asked hesitantly, "do you forgive me Bria?"
Without waiting for Bria's answer, I quickly reassured her, "I will avenge Zoie, I promise you."
"No, Heather, I'm not mad, I did it on purpose." Bria exhaled, "Let Clemm know we had an argument so he'll believe it's useless to threaten you with us."
"Heather, remember, you'll have to act cold for a while, and never go soft on us." Bria continued to admonish me uneasily.
"But I ......" Before I could finish my words, the scallop suddenly opened, and Bria and I were each pulled down.
It was a magnificent underwater palace, made of countless diamonds and pearls, with four silver pillars standing at each corner and Clemm sitting on a gilt throne in the very center above.
Clemm is more extravagant than many humans, that he exchanged for mermaids and Roy from the bottom of the sea. On his head he wore the crown that all mermaid kings have worn, and he did not perform the duties of a king.
The people of the seabed had only fear, not admiration for him.
"Heather, long time no see, have you seen Noah?" Clemm gave me a false smile, as he had done to me as a child.
It was with that smile that he had deceived my parents.
"What did you kidnap me here for? To get married to Noah?" I didn't respond to his friendly attitude, I just stared straight at him indifferently.
"Sure." Clemm probably misunderstood my meaning and smiled pleasantly, "After all, you both have royal blood, and I can make you the next queen as long as you obediently hand over the sea scales."
Thinking about the ploy I had just agreed with Bria, I suddenly had a more thoughtful solution.
I forced out a smile, "Of course I want to marry Noah, but don't you know that Noah likes Bria?"
Clemm froze for a moment, reacted and laughed, "That's nothing, no one in this world any man has only one woman in his life, let alone we are animals."
"And I thought you guys were good friends and shouldn't mind that. However, if you really do mind, I can kill Bria for you." He gave Bria a faint sweeping look.
"You're right, Bria and I are friends after all, so you just need to expel Bria from the pack." I said as I looked straight at Clemm, then deliberately glanced at Bria.
Bria was staring at me in shock, exactly the reaction she should be showing at this point.
Clemm wasn't so gullible. He scanned his eyes between Bria and me with a half-smile of suspicion.
"Heather, you wanted me to let her go before you said that on purpose, didn't you?" Clemm asked tentatively.
"You can disbelieve me, but whether you kill her or deport her, it's all the same to me." I said calmly.
"But don't you like that werewolf?" Clemm questioned.
"You should know that his parents don't accept me, otherwise I wouldn't be here." I said calmly, "Now I have thought it over, instead of being ostracized in the outer race, I should return to the bottom of the sea as the queen."
"After you are willing to give up the throne, this sea is mine and Noah's. No one can refuse the temptation of power, right?" I looked at Clemm calmly.
"Yes, you are right, you should have thought so long ago!" Clemm laughed out loud with pleasure.
"If you banish Bria and release my foster parents, I can give you the sea scales immediately." I said.
Clemm narrowed his eyes and thought about it, with a brilliant light in his eyes, he laughed: "How about this, to show my sincerity, I will directly kill Bria. When you give me the sea scales, I'll release your foster parents, how about that?"
I stared straight at Clemm and subconsciously clenched my fists.
Clemm also stared at me, his smile fading.
