Chapter 16
Heather's POV:
At ten o'clock, the big clock on the school library rang on time.
I was in a nervous mood as I loosened my phone screen and glanced at the final results on it, and instantly felt my heart fall from a high place like, "How did this happen?"
The winner was not me, nor Bria, but the girl who sang rock.
Bria sat next to me and she too glanced towards her phone. After a pause, she came over and hugged me tightly, "Heather, don't feel bad, there must be something wrong with this game result!"
"It's okay Bria, I'm just a little disappointed." I nodded with tears in my eyes and wrapped my arms around Bria's neck, "Thank you, Bria, it's good to have you."
"We should go check backstage with the person in charge, I always think it's Tina who's up to no good." Bria said with a gloomy expression as she looked at me.
"Forget it, maybe it's true that I didn't sing well enough." I said in frustration.
"Go on, don't worry." Bria said, "Just going to check it out."
At Bria's insistence, we approached the person in charge of the contest voting. After learning of our query, the other party frankly showed us the backend data. The data showed that the votes were normal and there was no cheating present.
But when I left there, we met a guy with glasses who claimed to be our fan and told us the truth about the results of this vote.
Tina was really involved in this, and she reversed the vote by canvassing. But technically, that's not cheating. Maybe those people really didn't want to vote for me.
Bria was very angry when she learned the truth and tried to go after Tina. She was so incredibly strong that I couldn't pull her, but we searched all afternoon and couldn't find out where she was.
"The bitch must be hiding, but she's in a dance competition tonight, we'll definitely find her there!" Bria said thrusting her back.
I couldn't stop Bria, so I had to go with her.
Aemon's POV:
I didn't tamper with the votes because if someone found out, Heather would be subject to criticism from others. I couldn't get her into that kind of trouble, but I could avenge her.
Tonight Tina will be competing in a dance competition, and I've been preparing a big gift for her for a long time. The competition will be held in the playground, which can accommodate a larger audience, which means more people will see Tina make a fool of herself.
Volunteers from the school set up the stage and electronic screen early in the morning. The electronic screen allows the audience to see the performance on the stage in multiple directions.
And I mingled with this group of volunteers.
Heather's POV:
In the evening, the dance competition was held on time in the playground while Bria and I made our way through the crowd.
"Bria, let's get out of here, okay? There's nothing to see here, and none of us can dance." I said to Bria.
I always feel like someone is watching us and just want to get out of here as soon as possible.
"Wait a minute, let me find out where that bitch Tina is, I'm going to teach her a lesson!" Bria craned her neck to look through the crowd.
"The man who spilled your red wine was probably also found by Tina, who had been on the scene yesterday to keep an eye on you. Thanks to her bad luck last night, she got caught up with the man, otherwise you would have had a much worse experience." Bria continued.
I pursed my lips and didn't say anything. The man who spilled my red wine yesterday was obviously deliberate. Thinking back to the way Tina looked at me in front of the toilet, I also felt that what happened later could have been her instructions.
But then Tina seemed worse than me, a big piece of white buttercream flung in her face. And the person who caused that scene was the bearded man who always saved me, I really don't know what he was thinking.
Is Aemon doing this on purpose? To help me get my revenge. I was amused by the idea, it was such a narcissistic idea. He was clearly going to treat Tina to a cake, what an earnest tone that was, and how he would set Tina up for me.
"Hey, girl, what are you giggling about? Quickly help me find Tina," Bria's voice suddenly exploded in my ears.
I was startled and immediately put away the smile on my face, "I'm sorry, Bria, what did you just say? I didn't hear you clearly."
"I said - find out where Tina is for me quickly? I need to find her and ask her about the cheating!" Bria shouted against my ear, the noise around me was just too noisy.
The people on stage were performing a samba dance with a very upbeat rhythm. There were a lot of people dancing along under the stage, and Bria and I were having a hard time moving through the crowded crowd.
"Forget it, Bria. it's too big a place to find someone. Let's just watch the show in peace, okay?" I said persuasively to Bria.
"Looks like this is the only way to go, it's so unfair, why isn't there such a big venue for singing competitions?" Bria grumbled reluctantly and finally stopped and said, "Tina will be on stage sooner or later, I want to see how well she dances, maybe she was the winner before because of the canvassing."
After calming Bria down, we started to watch the game in earnest. But I still felt like someone was watching us, and that made me feel a little uneasy.
We stayed for two hours until the host read out Tina's name, and Bria immediately grabbed me with excitement, looking more excited than the person holding Tina's lighted sign.
The light music started and Tina slowly entered the stage wearing a black ballet dress. Her eyes proudly scanned the audience, and finally found Bria and me precisely in the crowd, giving us a provocative smile.
I suddenly realized that the person who had just been peeking at us was Tina, who must have been laughing at us.
Thinking about what Tina had done to me filled me with resentment toward her, and I had the same thought as Bria, deciding that she had cheated to get her dance grade.
However, I watched for a while but found that her dance skills are very good, even if I can't dance I can tell that she is a long trained dancer.
The dance was coming to an end before Bria said, "That was an ugly dance."
I turned my head to her and smiled helplessly, "Bria, Tina is a good dancer isn't she? We can't dismiss everything about her because of her bad side."
"Heck, it's not over yet, and the end is just as important as the beginning." Bria said unconvincingly.
"Okay." I laughed helplessly and turned my head to look at the stage, "Then let's continue to see."
At that moment, all the lights on the stage suddenly went out and the room went dark. The audience let out a sigh of relief, and then began to discuss enthusiastically, they all guessed that it was a surprise designed by Tina, and they were all looking forward to the lights coming on again.
A minute later, however, only the electronic screen was lit.
Tina's figure appears again, but this should be a video. Because the screen is showing the scene of Tina and Aemon dancing.
"Who put this there! Turn it off for me now!" Tina's terrified screams rang out from the stage.
Apparently, this was not the surprise she had prepared.
The staff turned on the emergency lights to fix the computer and lighting malfunction. With the video still playing on the screen, exaggerated laughter erupted around the room when they saw the cake being put on Tina's face.
"Look at how stupid she looks!"
"Is this still our honorable Princess Tina?"
"Finally someone who can make a fool of her!"
"......"
Mocking voices rang out one after another, but only voices could be heard, and it was impossible to tell who was speaking.
"Heather, did you hear that? It seems like a lot of people here don't like Tina, but she's so dumb like that!" Bria was letting out a big laugh too.
I watched all this in silence, and my heart did not become happy. I didn't know who was playing a trick on Tina, but I knew that Tina would definitely not let that person go, and it would be an endless revenge.
Tina broke down on stage and cursed harshly. She grabbed the props and was about to smash them on the electronic screen, but was finally stopped by the staff.
"Get out of here, all of you, you bastards! I want to get out of here!" Tina's emotions were so intense that she broke away from the staff and jumped off the stage as if running away.
"Ah!" Tina cried out in pain, looking at the figure as if she had twisted her foot.
"Where are you going, Miss Tina? The performance is not finished yet, are you going to give up the competition?" The staff member with a microphone reminded behind her.
Tina ignored the staff as she quickly got up from the floor and limped out of the area.
"Bria, let's go too, there's nothing more to see." I said to Bria.
"Watch it again, this video is so funny, I think the boy must have done it on purpose." Bria said as she stared at the screen.
Because it was a staff error, the contestant could restart the game. But Tina sprained her foot and also voluntarily gave up the game, and the school did not put Tina's name on the voting platform.
After the festival, the school was back to its usual self.
I always see Tina at school with her foot in a cast. Tina didn't place this time, but she didn't care, she was more concerned with who was catching her.
Thankfully, she doesn't suspect me and I try to hide from her so she doesn't use me as an outlet. She's been investigating the stage piece, but hasn't found the person yet.
This day, when I went to get the books from the cabinet, Tina was standing there too.
She leaned against the tin cabinet, held the phone up to her ear, and just glared at me. I should thank the person who pranked Tina, otherwise she wouldn't have lost interest in me so quickly.
My locker door was so close to Tina's that I heard her say loudly to the other side of the phone, "Get some of the team, block that stinker after school, and give me a good beating on him, it's okay to beat him to death ......"
"Pop!" Suddenly, I accidentally dropped my book and Tina turned around to stare at me.
Her eyes were as sharp as a leopard's, and I hurriedly squatted down and moved in a panic to collect the things that fell out of the book.
"Coward!" Tina snorted lightly and finally withdrew her eyes.
Packing everything up, I left the place with my books in my arms and walked away quickly. If Tina keeps looking down on me like this, she might lose interest in bullying me sooner or later, and this seemed like a good idea.
But my mind was out of control, remembering what I had just overheard. the stinker Tina was talking about was Aemon, who had thrown the cake in her face, and she had transferred all her anger to Aemon and was looking for someone to sneak up on him.
Should I go tell Aemon? I thought nervously. But if I do, Tina will definitely be on my back again.
I felt a pang of annoyance. If I had known Tina was there, I would have preferred not to take the book.
