Chapter 38

Heather's POV:
When I opened my eyes, I was still a little scared and worried that everything yesterday was a dream. I don't remember how we got separated afterwards, when I seemed to have fallen asleep.
"Hey Heather, are you ready?" Zoie came into the room, "We're going to go ahead and start training."
"Oh, good." I immediately sat up from the bed and hesitantly asked, "Zoie, did you see Aemon yesterday? I mean, did he come and deliver dinner yesterday and then stay at my place?"
"Yes, I think he's been here for a while, has my little princess lost her memory?" Zoie showed an uncomprehending expression.
"Hi ladies, can I come in?" Zoie's voice had just fallen when Aemon's voice came in.
His tone sounded no different than usual, and I couldn't help but feel a little lost, was everything yesterday a dream of mine?
"Come in, Aemon," Zoie said as she opened the door. I hung my head in frustration, not daring to look at Aemon.
"What's wrong with you Heather, you don't look in the best of spirits." Aemon's voice rang out above my head.
The words sounded like concern, and I couldn't resist looking up to see his expression, but when I did, he leaned over and pressed into me, then touched me lightly on the lips.
"Good morning kisses, my princess." Aemon winked at me, smiling brighter than the sun today, and his eyes were like glue with adsorption power, not only sucking my eyes through, but sticking to them.
"You guys ......" Zoie looked at us in surprise, "are you dating?"
"I guess so, but I haven't formally asked Heather," Aemon said with a smile, holding out his hand to me, his eyes focused on me as he asked, "My dear Princess, will you be my girlfriend?"
At this time the golden sunlight outside just through the window spilled in, in Aemon's dark eyes reflected a beautiful spot of light, the scene is so beautiful unreal, I still feel like a dream.
"Heather?" i didn't answer for too long and Aemon frowned slightly, "Are you concerned about something?"
"No, I just think it's too surreal." I immediately placed my hand in Aemon's wide palm.
"Maybe I shouldn't be here right now. But Aemon, I have to warn you, if you don't treat our princess right, all the mermaids in the sea will come after you." Zoie said in an aside.
"Of course, I'll love and care for Heather, and when Heather gets her revenge, we'll get married." Aemon looked at Zoie and promised seriously.
"This is great, my princess has finally found happiness." Zoie smiled, but her eyes were red, "If the king and queen knew, they would feel relieved too."
My heart was filled with happiness and satisfaction. I wanted to marry Aemon right now and find a vacation with Heather somewhere less crowded. But Aemon was right, before that I had to get rid of Clemm and take back the sea that my parents had taken such good care of.
In order not to delay my training, Aemon did not stay here long.
When the people left, Zoie smiled and said to me, "Falling in love is such a magical thing, it's like the princess is glowing and becoming more beautiful all over."
I smiled sweetly and blushingly, "Let's start training, Aemon told me about a way to maybe quiet my mind."
"Well, if you can control not thinking about Aemon, you should be able to." Zoie said with a smile.
"Zoie, I'll train hard." I said shyly.
But it did prove to be a bit difficult, as soon as I closed my eyes, Aemon's face would appear in my mind. It took me several attempts before I finally dropped the distractions for a while and started chanting the song.
It is a song that can keep the mind calm. Finally, under the song I felt the blood flowing in my body, and following the direction of the convergence of blood, my hand was placed on my right atrium.
There I seemed to see a piece of scales with a colorful glow, and when I tried to take it out, I felt something more in my hand. I slowly opened my eyes and the scale I just saw was lying in my hand.
"Great! Heather, you did it!" Zoie hugged me excitedly.
I also felt very happy and relieved, my arms and legs were limp and lost strength, my body was like a punctured balloon. zoie said that taking out the sea scales consumed huge physical and mental energy, and that subsequent training would not only teach me how to use the sea scales, but also exercise my mental and physical strength.
During the interval, Bria came to see me and she learned that I was dating Aemon. Bria expressed her blessings to me, but her expression looked a bit worried.
"Heather, have you thought about it? Do you really want to marry Aemon?" Bria's expression was rare serious and earnest.
"Of course, we love each other." I said, puzzled, "What's wrong with you, Bria, why do you ask?"
"Mom, you didn't tell the princess?" Bria looked up at Zoie, "She should have known about it, the mermaid had to break the old engagement before she could start a new marriage."
"With Aemon here in the morning, I was afraid to speak up for fear that the boy would misunderstand that Heather was lying to him, after all, Heather didn't know about this." Zoie explained.
"What are you talking about?" I looked at them blankly.
Zoie looked hesitant and said after a while, "When you were first born, the king and queen still thought highly of Clemm and gave you and his son Noah a betrothal."
I looked at them in shock, "But I don't love Noah, and I'm definitely not going to marry him!"
I remember Noah, he was not like his father, he was a kind boy. But I just thought of him as a childhood playmate and never thought I would marry him, even less so now that I have Aemon.
"I know, you should not be in a hurry." Aemon reassured me, "As long as you find Noah and you mutually agree to break the engagement, the engagement will be annulled, and you don't have to tell Aemon, lest he misunderstand."
"But ...... I don't want to cheat on him." I said hesitantly, "And I didn't do anything wrong to Aemon, Noah and I are innocent, he surely won't care about that."
"Princess, it's hard to be sure about this, and if Aemon cared about it, we'd probably be kicked out by now, and Clemm's people would easily find us by then." Zoie said seriously.
"But ......" I still don't think that's a good idea.
"Princess, we have to finish what the king and queen have asked us to do first. If Aemon is as you say, he will forgive you even if he knows about it later." Zoie said.
"Well, Bria, can you find Noah for me? I want to break off my engagement with him as soon as possible." I looked to Bria.
"If you're sure you want to break off the engagement, I'll help you find him as soon as possible." Bria said, with a slightly odd look in her eyes.
"I'm sure." I said without hesitation.
Zoie saw that I was not in my element and asked Bria to go out with me to get some fresh air.
Now I feel sweet and weak when I think of Aemon, I really don't want to cheat on him, I have to adjust my mind before I meet him.
At this time Aemon should be in the forest training physical fitness, in order to avoid him, Bria and I were going to go for a walk on the edge of the lake. Unexpectedly, we just arrived at the lake and met the she-wolf who had targeted me, the wild girl named Bonnie.
She was now in a human state and was standing in the lake bathing with her entire upper body exposed. She is a black-skinned girl with hair tied into many braids, a plump and healthy body with a very nice muscular line, a very powerful girl.
Bonnie's body was slightly sideways, not seeing us yet, and I was about to pull Bria away. bonnie's body suddenly stopped, then quickly looked towards us, and at the same time shouted out a name: "Aemon!"
Her face was an expression of extreme surprise as she called out the name. I froze for a moment and scanned around, but saw no sign of Aemon.
Why did she call out Aemon's name to me?
As I was about to withdraw my eyes, a black shadow suddenly passed in front of me, and the next second, my neck was grabbed by Bonnie, who questioned me with a face full of indignation: "Why do you smell like Aemon, did he mark you?"
