"HAPPY BIRTHDAY SELENA!" I heard cheers making me shocked.
Before me were Sophie, The Gamma, Jane the Beta, Smith and some other people I don't know,
I didn't even remember it was my birthday today. I haven't celebrated my birthday ever since my grandma passed away. My parents doesn't even know when my birthday is, so it became a normal day for me. I never expected Sophie to still got reminded of it.
I got so emotional, that I didn't know when tears began rushing out, it was happy tears, I hugged Sophie tightly thanking her repeatedly.
She introduced me to some members, since I was the celebrant I couldn't hide from them, some were nice to me while some were not.
Everywhere was decorated with black and gold including the cake. The cake is beautiful. That explains why she made me dress in this. Then it's dawn on me that the special person she was talking about is me.
The cake is a black and gold two tier with caramel popcorn, macarons, chocolate drip, and a custom cake topper with Happy twentieth birthday boldly on it. What more can I ask for?
We joke, laugh played, and sing. I hope I can continue being this happy. The Alpha didn't come to the party, Sophie said she didn't tell him, I bet even if she did tell him, he would come.
Everyone was having fun in their way including Sophie, I had persuaded her to go have fun with her friends and I was fine sitting here. After Sometimes I decided to go take a fresh breath outside.
I walked through the back door I have seen some people passing through. When we just came for the party.
I breathe in the fresh air and for the first time in my life, I felt like a burden was lifted from my chest. I sat down on a bench looking up at the beautiful sky. It's been a long time since I sat outside this way staring at the sky.
"Hmm, do you love looking at the sky that much that you didn't notice I have been here for some time?" I looked beside me and saw Smith sitting close to me. Since when has he been here?
"What is the beautiful celebrant thinking about?" He asked again staring at me with his hazel eyes.
"Nothing, I was feeling suffocated inside there so I decided to come to take some fresh air," I replied half-truth...
"Sorry to ask this, but how did you come into the territory without the King killing you." He asked staring at me.
"He brought me here because I needed his help," I answered curtly.
"I feel there is another reason for him bringing you here." He said making me shocked. I can't allow him to know I am his mate.
"Why did you say so?" I asked him to know if he knows anything.
"Simple he hates humans all kinds of wolves hate humans." He replied.
" Including you? " I asked.
"I don't hate humans, I hate the people who killed our king." He said upset.
"Thanks for understanding, I was scared you were going to hate me," I muttered.
"Of course not, you are a nice and beautiful girl, I don't think anyone in his right mind is going to hate a nice soul like you." He said smiling
"You don't know me that much so you can't just say I am a nice person," I whispered.
"I know you are." He said again smiling. I hope what he said was true.
But I know deep down in me it wasn't, my parents hate me my brother who is supposed to like me also hates me, and the Alpha who is supposed to love me also hates me a lot.
Looks like he noticed the way I was quiet. So he brought up another topic making me forget about it. We had different conversations until he checked his time and stood from the bench saying we have spent almost two hours talking and it was also kind of getting cold so we should go inside.

"Selena, I have been looking around for you why the hell did you leave without telling me where you were going?" She scolded me like the big sister she is. No one has ever cared for me as she does.
"I just felt like taking a fresh air outside, I am sorry I didn't tell you," I whispered.
"Oh, it's fine Selena, I will take it from here Smith, thanks for accompanying her," Selena said with a grim expression.
"That's fine I should leave now, it's late send my greetings to the Gamma and Beta. Happy birthday once again Selena." He said kissing the back of my hands and also winking at me before leaving.
"Selena, what was that about?" Selena asked when she was sure he couldn't hear our conversation.
"What was what about?" I asked cheekily pretending not to know what she was talking about.
"I am talking about what is going on between you and Smith, why did he kiss our hands?" She asked showing she is angry this time.
"We just had a little conversation, since you know he once work with humans. He is also a nice guy." I said smiling.
"The Alpha won't like it if he knows you are smiling with a guy that is not him." She said again making look at her shock.
"Sophie it's just a little conversation. We..." But the beta caught me off when he came to us saying the Alpha has almost arrived, so it's better we leave soon. I will be the one to drive you guys home. The beta said he wanted to leave but stopped he suddenly sniff the air and turn to me.
"You smell like Smith, don't tell me you have been with him?" He asked making me surprised. How the hell does he just sniff the air and know I was with Smith? And what is their problem with them asking why I was with him?.
"We just had a little conversation," I said a little loud.
"It will be better if you stay away from him, we won't like our Luna roaming around with guys. This is a different world you should be able to differentiate it from the human world." He said and turn to Sophie telling her to meet him in the car soon then he left.
I just stood there with my mouth agape and shock written all over my face.
"Let's go, Sophie, the best you can do now is to avoid Damien at all cost today." She said again making me confused.
We got into the car and were about to drive off when everyone suddenly went stiff. The Beta growl loud making me scared.
"What is wrong Sophie?" I asked her cause I was very scared.
"Rogues, are nearby and they are many. We need to take you to a safe place. Drive now, Andrew!" Sophie screamed.
The beta started immediately, we didn't drive far when a wolf jumped on the car breathe windscreen but that didn't make him stop. He swerves the car to the right making the wolf fall off.
He continues driving fast but the wolf kept running after us. But suddenly a wolf Jumped out fighting them off.
"That's Daren, he will try to distract them for now," Sophie said. Then we saw a pack of rogues running toward us which made the beta turn into the bush at a high speed.
Sophie suddenly told me to stretch out my hands I did as she told me. She then placed her hands on my hand closing her eyes and whispering something.
"Sophie what are you doing?" I asked but she didn't reply she continues whispering whatever she was saying. "Damn it, Sophia don't tell me you are enchanting a spell?" Andrew screamed from the front seat.
She is enchanting some spells, what the hell? She is going against her brother's order he won't like it. I try to drag my hands away from her but I couldn't,
Suddenly everywhere became silent it was like we went into a light and then we are in front of the castle or should I say pack, then she opened her eyes.
"Sophie, what just happened?" I asked shocked.
"I enchanted a spell, I don't know what got into I just felt like I should protect you, I was the reason you come out in the first place."She explained.
"Let's go in, we need to explain what happened to the Alpha when he comes back." The beta said getting down from the car.
Sophie and I also got down from the car, but she couldn't stand well, I helped her rest on me so we can go inside but she suddenly turn stiff and didn't move.
I release my hold on her making her fall to the ground, with blood rushing out of her mouth and nose. I screamed so loud making the beta run up to me.
"What is... " He stopped talking when he saw Sophie on the ground.
"Why is my sister on the ground with blood on her face?" I don't need to look at the person before knowing who it was.
