DON'T TRUST DON'T DEPEND

"Take her to the hospital," William ordered the guard and stormed inside the mansion along with his wife.

"Find out where the both of them are, don't you dare come back telling me you can't find them." He yelled again. He was shocked at how they could leave without the security catching them.

Selena and Sophia found themselves right inside Damien's room. She was happy they were back without any issues.

"Sophie, why did you do that? Are you sure no one saw us?" Selena asked, still shocked with what transpired a few seconds ago.

"Damien knows we went to the human world, we are both in trouble when he gets back," Sophia answered calmly.

"I noticed you were scared of your parents, are they the reason for those scars?" She asked not to be able to keep it in again.

Selena kept shut not saying anything, she has always kept this a secret. She doesn't know how to explain things to her. Sophia noticed that she doesn't feel like letting it out. So I decided to clear the uneasy room.

"I will leave now, Damien will be back soon. If you need anything remember you can just say it in your mind, I will be here in an instant." Sophia announced.

"Thanks for understanding," Selena retorted and Sophia disappeared from her presence. Selena puff out air from her mouth happy she wasn't left with them. Though she seems disturbed and also glad of her parents' new behavior toward her. She felt bad for leaving without letting them know.

She climbs onto Damien's bed and inhales the scent of the duvet, strangely it kind of calms her down when she does it. She reminisced about what happened today. Then she recalled their reason for leaving the pack. But Sophia being the playful girl took them into the human world kind of causing trouble.

"Flower!" She heard the familiar voice call her name, she was happy she could finally see him. She smiled when he got closer, she stretched her hands for hugs but they never came. She looked at him and saw his eyes were dark blue. He was so mad, he was glaring hard at her but this didn't get her scared.

"Common, I am fine and standing well before you," she mumbled, giving a puppy's eyes. "Aww! My arms hurt," Selena says, making Damien rush towards her.

"What happened? Did anyone hurt you?" He checked to see if she was hurt, but it didn't go away, making him relax a bit.
He embraced her tightly sniffing in her hair, which made him relax a bit. After some minutes he released her and glared at her.

"Why the hell would you go to the human world without my permission? What if something bad happens to you?" He growled now. Since it's been a long time since he did it to her, she suddenly got scared and coiled in his arms with the way he growled. Her eyes suddenly became teary.

"I… I am..am so.. sorry, it wasn't intentional," Selena muttered with hiccups.

"Shhh, I am sorry I shouldn't have yelled at you, I was just mad something bad happened to you when I felt pain," he mumbled patting her back. "Speaking about that, did anyone hurt you in the human world?" Damien asked.

"No," Selena replied not wanting to let him know her mum slapped her. "Don't you dare lie to me!" He growled again. Selena snuggled into him more tightly, and she couldn't breathe much. She loves it when she does this. "Nothing happened," she let out again in a muffled voice.

"If you mark me, will it stop your mum from forcing you to Mark Alexandria?" Selena asked.

"My mom's a dangerous woman, she doesn't care what pain someone goes through as long as she gets what she wants it is not of her concern," Damien whispered praying she doesn't drag this much.

"Someone told me she is threatened by my powers, I have the feeling she knows what I am." Damien seems kind of stunned by what Selena just said. Thinking about it his mum is a very powerful witch nothing goes past her, she even mentioned to him the other day that she wasn't human. How come he missed this? He made a mental note to talk to her about it.

"Why do you think she is threatened by my powers?" Selena asked again.
"Who told you this?" Damien asked softly, though he wasn't happy with what his mate was saying he couldn't just flip on her, so she didn't get scared. If someone else was the one saying this he doubts the person will still be alive.Even if his mum is a cruel woman he still loves her.

"Honestly I don't know, Zyres said something possessed him, so he couldn't explain that part to me," Selena answered tiredly. Damien didn't say anything, they were both like that for some minutes until Selena broke the silence again.

"You do know, you are marking her and rejecting me tomorrow right?"
"Flower,"
"It takes both parties to accept rejection before it happens, I won't accept your rejection," Damien felt her breath was kind of sturdy, indicating she slept off. He let them be that way for some time before he laid her on the bed. Admiring her he felt like kissing those reddish plump lips pointing at him. Ever since the day she caught him having fun with Gina he stopped linking up with girls.

[Alpha, Luna wants to see you, she….] Daren's voice came irritatingly. He has never liked his mum and has always shown it. Even the witch never wanted him to be her son Beta but she couldn't stop it because he rebelled against her for it.

[I am on my way]
[How is she?] He asked again. Damien noticed Daren happened to like Selena right from the day he brought her to the pack. He has always respected her from the first day, he even warned Damien if he wasn't ready to accept her he should take her back to the human world before she gets used to this place. He also got into a fight with Damien, when he nearly hurt her.

[I am beginning to get worried about the way you are concerned about my mate.] Damien retorted, not liking how he was worried for his mate.

[She is my Luna, I need to be sure she's fine] Daren replied and cut off the connection. Damien grumbled when he did that. Only he and his sister dare do such.

He covered his mate and kissed the top of her head before leaving the room.

When Damien left the room, Selena sat back on the bed. She couldn't sleep since he left. She was still worried about what will happen the next day. Then she recalled something. "Damn it, I wasn't able to meet with Smith." She whispered.

"What does Luna want?" Selena jumped off the bed when she heard a voice speak.
She looked around but she couldn't find anybody in her room.

"Who are you?" Selena yelled, shuddering in fear. "I am your guardian angel." The voice let out.

"Lies! Sophia is my guardian angel. Who are you? Come out, I want to see you." Selena asked while still looking around If she could find the person talking.

She heard a loud mocking laugh for sometimes, before talking "I am amused at how you suddenly want to see me now. I have always protected you since you were a child. But all you do is run away or scream anytime you see me."

"No one protected me when I was a kid, so stop your lies, you bloody bastard!" Selena shrieked.

She then saw a dark figure step out from the cotton behind the nightstand, in front of her. She nearly peed on her pant when she saw the familiar dark figure with red eyes, that she has always seen, since her birthday night.

"It always amazes me how you act strong and brave in a minute and in the next minute you turn into a scaredy-cat." He said, his voice was kind of chill but somehow comforting.

"You don't expect me to jump and hug you like a baby waiting for her daddy." Selena retorted but quickly slammed her out shut with her hands, shocked by what she had just uttered. She was scared the figure could hurt her if she doesn't mind what she says

But he chuckled when heard what the little girl before him says. "Apart from the weak side of yours, you are just like your mum, especially with that big mouth of yours."

"I don't have a big mouth," Selena responded with her arms folded against one another and pouting, and also with raised eyebrows. She tried to look brave before the figure who called himself her guardian angel.

"How did you even know my mum? And besides, I only started seeing you on my birthday night." she let out with an irritated look.

"I have been with you ever since you were five, about your mum I have known her before your birth." The figure answers.

"Your mate will have another mate tomorrow, you should be more concerned about that," He said again.

"But.. She said,"
"Stop depending on people, or should I rather say on a witch. You are not brought to this world to do so. Her sister betrayed the moon goddess. Do you think she wouldn't do the same?" The figure solicited, his voice had now turned cold, it made Selena shift back from the figure a bit."

"Wh…. What are tal… talking about?" Selena asked, confused.

"You shouldn't trust those two witches and also the half which you claim to be your best friend," he announced, making Selena's eyes go wide. She couldn't say about the two witches he mentioned but talking about Sophia hurting her made her confused.

"But she is my guardian angel," Selena mumbled, the figure chuckling again before talking.

"When the time comes she won't be in support of you but will betray you. Be careful with what you share with her, don't make the same mistake she made. I will take my leave now your mate is nearby." The figure said and disappeared before she could ask any more questions.
