HER FIRST SHIFT

"James, James oh my God!" Selena tried to wake him up but he wasn't, his whole body had become cold, and his face was pale.

[Serena what the hell f**king happened.] Selena whispered in shock,

[I killed him] Selena gasped.

She just killed the boy she has always called her brother all her life. 


[Let's escape from this place] Serena responded.

[What do you mean?] 

[They won't let you go if they find out you killed someone! You need to escape]

[If you know that, why the hell will you kill him?]

[Go and lock the door]

[Now!] 

Selena ran toward the door and bolted it.

[Now you are going to close your eyes and put all your mind in the one place you want to go, you need to do it fast before Naferes gets here]

[What Is going to happen when I do so and who is Naferes?] Selena asked irritated 

[Selena we have no time for questions, you need to do it now to escape from here]

[Do it now] Selena closed her eyes and did what she was told to,  but when she opened her eyes she was still in the room.

Suddenly someone was trying to open the door, "What the hell happened? Why is the f**king door locked?" 

Selena recognized the voice, it was the man who first came to her room.

With shock, Selena tried to focus her whole attention on what Serena told her to do but it wasn't working.

Selena rushed to the closet ruffling it one more time. [What are you looking for, when we are supposed to leave now?] Serena asked, but didn't get an answer from Selena.

"This should do it," Selena muttered, smiling with a shirt in her hands.

Then she rushed down to the window, her room was not on the first floor or even the second floor. She couldn't even count the floor she was on. [What are you going to do?] Serena asked, confused.

[I will jump ] 

[What the hell? You are crazier than I am] Serena let out.


[Tell me about it.] Selena replied smiling.

[I am f**king seriously I am not yet healed. I can not withstand any pain right now.]


[I will be the one to do so, not you] Selena pointed out.

[No, that's not how it…] Serena was cut short when Selena already jumped down. 

"Awww," Selena whimpered when she fell, she felt pain all over her body, it was like she broke her bones.


[Se... Serena we.. we made it] Selena was hurting badly that she couldn't stand up from where she was lying.

[The f**k!] Serena cursed out, making Selena chuckle. Selena noticed she has begun to gain her strength back. "Woah I am healing up! This is fun." Selena let out excitement.

[Let's leave this environment now] Serena said with an eyes roll. Selena quickly stood up, she was surprised, it felt like her whole bone crushed when she jumped down a few seconds ago. She looked up at where she jumped from and noticed it was a skyscraper. "The hell I jumped down from that height!" Selena screamed in shock.

[That's how crazy you are, now let's leave they are coming] Serena said a little mad.

Selena quickly sprints into the busy road, buzzing with vehicles and people.

"Where the hell is this?" She continued walking into the crowd trying to know where she was. [I don't know and don't care about it at all, let's have some fun Selena] Serena announced excitedly.

[Fun? Like seriously fun? You  just kill someone and it seems as if you did nothing, how the hell do you want me to live when I would continue feeling the guilt of me killing my brother] 

"Miss, is there any problem with you?" Selena felt someone tap her. She looked up to see who the person who touched her was. Only for her to find the whole crowd's attention directed to her. Not only were they just staring at her, but some were also giving her a disgusting look while some were pitiful look.

"Nope, I am fine." She answered, kinda bothered by their gazes from them.

"Did you run away from home or something?" The woman asked again, making Selena's eyes go wide.

[How the hell did she know that? Does she have some kind of magic] Selena thought.

[Hey! Have you looked down to check what you are putting on?] Serena asked in a mocking tone. "Selena was too naive for the kind of rank she held." Serena thought.

"The clothes you put on says it all." The woman said with a shrugged shoulders.

"I am fine miss, I just feel… feel like breathing in the fresh air...  Yeah, breathing in the fresh air." Selena muttered, smiling sheepishly. 

"You sure?" The woman asked, still not believing her.

[Selena let's go, There are rogues nearby they will be able to smell we are a wolf, you know we need to stay hidden.]

"Of course ma'am I feel great this way. I need to leave now." Selena replied to the woman.

"But, you are not….." Selena didn't wait for her to complete her words before scurrying to wherever her legs lead her.

"What a great walk, I am so tired I don't even have an inkling of where I am and you still want me to continue walking all because you have a hunch? Never" Selena grumbled as she sat on a tree branch, when she had run from the lady earlier, Serena had made her come to the wood where she had been walking for hours without even knowing where she was going.

[You make it seem like I am the only one at fault here.] Serena snapped.

[Yup, if you hadn't killed James we wouldn't be here trying to escape from anyone looking crazy.] Selena replied also annoyed.

[Are you trying to say you are not happy I killed the fool who wanted to have his way with you?] 

[Whatever, I am going nowhere anymore. I am so tired and hungry.] Selena folded her hands against her shoulder, pouting her lip.

Serena also scoffed and cut off connection with Selena.

Not long Selena hears some steps inside the forest, she jerks up from the tree branch in fear. [Serena what is that sound?] Selena asked in fear, but Serena didn't get any reply from her wolf. 

[Serena!] She called again but got no reply, she quickly sprinted to the other way not knowing where it was going to lead her. She kept running till her legs started getting sore from the torn which had gotten her feet wounded, she was so weak and exhausted.

Still running and looking where she was going, she hit a wall which caused her to fall to the ground. "Awww," she whimpered as she fell to the ground. She then noticed the thing she hit was soft, like that of hair. She looked up in shock only to be met by a brown wolf with a dark gaze.

[Rogue, run!] She heard Serena's voice in her head. 

She stood from the ground and kept running, increasing her speed with each passing minute but she was no match for the wolves and she was already becoming weak.

Selena looked ahead and saw a bend with trees by the sides.

Yes. That was it.

She ran faster and hid behind the thick trees, trying to calm her breath but she kept panting.

[Serena, we have to do something, ] she said to her wolf.

But Serena was not responding.

The wolves stopped just behind the trees where she stood.

 She could hear them brawling and growling, causing her to gasp and latch her hand around her mouth.

[Serena,] she called, tears escaping her eyes. She started running again but didn't see the stone on the ground. Her leg hit it and she moaned in pain again as she fell to the ground. She wanted to stand up but stopped when she heard the sound of footsteps and she looked up trembling in fear.

The Rogue was glaring at her grinding his teeth still a bit far from where she was laying. She tried to stand up again but fell to the ground, but she tried again which she was finally able to do but she felt pain all over her body like it was on fire. She suddenly felt a heavy pain shoot through her back. She fell back to the ground. 

"We need to do something," she cried. "I am weak already. Don't allow these wolves  us as a meal for tonight," 

She was so engrossed in trying to make her wolf respond that she had not noticed that the leader of the rogues was in front of her until she heard him growl closely.

Selena snapped her eyes open and found the wolf glaring at her, the rest of the rogues began to stand behind him.

Her breath hitched as a dirty looking wolf launched at her and she closed her eyes.

This was it. She was going to...

 As if in a flash the creature was thrown outta her, Her eyes were bloodshot. 

Her fang grew as she rushed toward the creature who was also back on his feet. He rushes toward her but he never notices her fang and where she was targeted as if in flash he stopped trying to revive himself. But scour her hands into his heart pulling out his heart. The rogue gave a loud howl and fell to the ground. Selena who saw every single thing couldn't help but feel nauseated. 

"Our second kill" Serena announced, Selena felt her voice become deeper. "It's time for us to shift." 

[What! Can you do that] 

[It's going to be painful but we are going to get through this together.]

She had not even been able to process her thoughts fully to notice her fingers turn sharp and fangs grow in her mouth.

Before she could even think about what was going on, her bones snapped and her clothes tore as she morphed for the first time into her wolf form. She felt like she was at the back of something and also felt a little safe. 

Serena growled and launched at the leader of the rogue, since she was taller than the rogue she was able to jump high pouncing on the rogue, baring her teeth into his flesh, other rogues jumped At her, biting her flesh but she was angry to feel any pain.

 She cut out the side of flesh where her teeth made the leader howl in pain. Standing up she waves off the rogues from her back, she turns in their direction pouncing on them and slashing them by their throats. 

Since she was super fast and they couldn't meet their speed she killed them off. The leader of the rogues who was on the ground groaning in pain trying to heal up saw these and in fright, he stood from the ground weakly and ran away.

Serena who doesn't want to let him go scot free race after the leader till she slays him, she gave a roar celebrating her victory.

Selena who has just been watching the whole scene was in shock. She never knew her wolf would be this powerful, she was scared and also nauseated.

Serena finally got her senses back and looked around the environment she was in, there she saw a stream she rushed there and she saw the reflection of herself. Her fur was white as snow and her eyes were very red. Seeing this Selena got scared of her reflection. All she just wanted was to go home and be with her mate.

"Sophia please I need you, I am scared, recall your promise to protect me. Damien! Anyone out there!" She yelled in her head. Not quite long, her bone cracked again and she changed into her human weak and tired, her whole body felt sore, and she lay on the ground.

"Selena! Selena!" She heard the voice of her best friend, she was kind of disappointed her mate wasn't the one who came. Though she is happy to hear Sophia's voice. She knew  she would get to the pack.
