THE BETRAYAL

Selena quickly jumped on the bed and pretended to be asleep, when the figure disappeared. She was still confused about what he said, she still hadn't accepted Sophia would betray her.

"Flower, you are awake? Thought you were asleep before I left." Damien whispered as he got close to his mate.

"Nah I open my eyes the moment you left the room,"

"I am sorry for that I should have been with you, I thought you have slept off," 

"It's fine you also have other responsibilities," Selena replied softly.

"I will be leaving for another pack tonight," Damien announced.

"What? I thought…."

"Yeah, I accepted to go there because it will make me avoid the mate stuff," Damien said.

"But,"

"Make sure the door is well locked, Sophia would be around when she is less busy. The night is going to be a long night." Damien said again.

When he said her name she recalled what the figures said. She doesn't even know who to trust. 

"Alright Damien, when will you be back?" She asked again.

"Maybe in two days," he answered looking down.

After some more talk, he left his mate with a heavy heart.

"Guess who is awake now?" She heard a familiar voice beside her. She looks to her side to see Damiens's mum sitting and watching her. Selena hurriedly got up from the bed.

"How did you get here?" She asked shocked but quickly kept shut when she recalled what she is capable of doing when offended.

"I can't believe a tramp like you would dare question my authority in my son's bedroom," she roared. Selena trembled with the way her eyes turned pure black. 

She wanted to call Sophia but recalled what the dark figure told her, she was told not to trust anyone. 

"What? Do you want to call my daughter? Trust me, I block them all, today I will send you back to your world after making sure you accept his rejection," Selena's eyes went agape when she heard what she just said. 

"What? You are shocked!" Fiona asked laughing out loud. "I told you I will get things under control. About your little plan with my sister, I know about it. My girl told me about it," she revealed, shocking Selena.

"What!" 

"I am not the type you can mess with, I do what I want." She stretched her hands to Selena, and in an instant, they were both in a basement. Selena knows this place, she has been here once.

"Wh… What do you want to do?" Selena asked fearfully. Fiona stretched her hands towards the furnace smiling dangerously, then a whip appeared on her hands. Selena couldn't help but wonder what had happened within just the minute she slept. But he told her he would take care of it.

"I will make sure you accept his rejection and go back to your stupid human family," Fiona scoffed and walk closer to Selena, "You want to be the Luna of this pack and also the Queen of all werewolves, with just a snap of your finger? I doubt that can happen. I repeat you are no match for this pack, you are not needed here." 

Just the instant she was done talking she used her power to push Selena onto the chair. Then hit Selena with the whip she was holding. The loud piercing voice of Selena could be heard, but she couldn't see anyone coming to help her. She couldn't believe Sophia betrayed her, she understood that Damien wasn't in the pack, but why exactly did he reject her?

Another whip upon another but Selena still didn't back up. She promised not to accept his rejections.

"You are such a stubborn girl, let's see if you can make it, a bright light appears in her hands, then throw it toward her. Selena felt pains crawl down her whole body, it was like her body was in a blazing fire. Fiona kept throwing it at her till Selena finally lost consciousness.

"Luna the Alpha Is back." Someone announced.

"What the hell are you….." She stopped talking, as she saw the head of the wolf who came to report to her on the ground. Blood splashing out from his neck. It was still standing but after a few seconds, it made a loud thud on the ground.

"Da... Da... Dam... Damien…" she mumbled in shock.

"I warned you not to do anything stupid to my mate!" He roared. And in an instant, he was in front of his mum. "What? Are you going to kill me like you killed him?" Fiona asked smirking. 

"Make the announcement tomorrow, I have my real mate, I will never accept Alexandria as mine." Damien let out.

"What? Are you crazy? You reject her, remember? Or you…"

"Let me get this straight I never did, my doppelganger did. You think we still didn't go with our plan, of course, we did after all your sister is as powerful as you." Damien answered, smirking also.

"What?"

Damien remained silent and turned to his mate, he released her weak body from the chair and carried her out of the basement leaving Fiona shocked. She was sure Damien was the one who rejected his mate.

Damien took his mate to his room, where Zyres, Mellisa, and Sophia were waiting. Seeing how Selena is weak. Sophia ran to her but was stopped by Damien. 

"I only let you be here because I needed you to heal her. I still haven't forgiven you for what you did." Sophia dropped her hands and looked down in embarrassment.

—FLASHBACK—-

When she disappeared from Selena's room, something suddenly blew past her and she appeared before her mum.

"Mum, how come I am in your room?" 

"You just started practicing sorcery a few months ago," Fiona said, smirking.

Sophia stared at her mum, amazed, taking a mental note to learn how to avoid it."What do you want from me?" 

"I just need some information…."

"You are not getting anything from me!" Sophia yelled veering back, she wanted to disappear from her sight, but she couldn't. She felt something holding her down.

"You can't leave if I don't grant you the wish, I brought you here and I am the only soul who can make you leave." Fiona blew some substance on Sophia before she could notice. She didn't have an inkling of an idea of what happened. She just knew when she opened her eyes she was back in another room.

She instantly ran to Damien to explain what had happened the moment she regained herself. But she met her mum torturing Damien, forcing him to reject Selena. She almost cried when she saw this, even if her brother is the Alpha King he still couldn't wage war against his mother. She is very powerful. He had no choice but to reject her when mum threatened to hurt his mate.

~~~~PRESENT~~~~~

Give the… this… to h… her sh….. she will be protected from them.."

"A.. Are.. you sure?" A voice asked fearfully. "Ye… yes no.. no.. one… would know."

"Mum… mummy I do... don't want to ha..hab it," A beautiful little girl replied crying…

"Sweetheart, it's not gonna hurt you. All you just need to do is drink it." A beautiful woman holding the baby forced her to drink it.

"No…. no," the baby tried to push it away, when her mum see she won't take it, her mum forced her hand and leg together along with the other lady to take…

"No….." 

Selena scrambled off the bed, in fear.

It was the first time she has ever had that dream, she seems confused as to why she had the dream. She couldn't recall ever meeting the girl before. She cracked her brain to think but she couldn't recall any of the incidents. But the dream felt real to her.

She looked around, and noticed she was now in Damien's room but how come, she only recalled losing consciousness, when Luna sent lightning to her.

Still confused, she stood up and saw the familiar dark figure watching her, "You are here, were you the one that saved me?" She was kind of happy.

"Guess she just knows I have been helping her." He mumbled. "Though I wasn't the one who brought you here or took you from the basement, I only helped in some kind way." The figure said again.

"He rejected me already," Selena whispered disappointedly.

"He only did that for your protection, it was nice you didn't accept it." He said, chuckling. Since he was dark Selena couldn't see his face to know the expression he made. 

"Why can't I see you, why are you always dark, why does the light always go off anytime you appear?"

"You need to get marked by your mate if you still want to be Luna." The figure said not replying to her question.

"Mark? But I thought he rejected me already?" 

"As long as you didn't reject it, he is still yours." Selena bobbed her head In realization. 

"But.." She was startled when the four suddenly burst open. The light also went on.

"Da… Damien?"

"Yeah, why are you standing there?"  Selena looked in the direction of where the figure was standing a second ago. But she couldn't find him there anymore. 

"Oh, I…".She quickly racks her brain to think of a lie. "I was trying to put on the light, but it was suddenly dark everywhere." 

Damien looked up confused, "The light is on," he said pointing to the bulb.

Selena hit her head at her stupid lie, "it's fine Flower, Hope you don't feel any more pain." He walks close to her.

"Stop, you rejected me already, go meet your new mate," Selena let out. Damien stood there confused not knowing how to explain to her.

"I am sorry, she threatened to hurt you if I don't." Damien suddenly grimaces at how he now apologizes to his mate constantly, if someone had told him he would turn this soft, he would kill the person without thinking. 

"But she still did," Selena mumbled. "I will only forgive you if you do what I want you to do now without hesitation." Selena let out. [I am beginning to like this new side of our mate] Derek purr out.

[Shut the f**k up Derek, I don't have good feelings about this, ] Damien snapped.

"What do you want?" 

"Make me yours right here and now."
