VANESSA

"Where are we?" Selena asked looking confused.  "Oh, that I decided to bring us here for refreshment since I don't have the mind to make you go hungry," Sophia replied, smiling happily.


"Are we still in werewolf territory?" Selena asked, alarmed, she doesn't want to cause any more trouble. She also doesn't want to make Damien worried.


"Common,  we are in the human world, nothing bad will happen here. Since they can't know we are werewolves and besi6 you lived almost twenty years of your life here. So you know how to act." Sophia says cheerily, as she drags Selena with her and gets mixed with the crowd.


"Let's try that restaurant?" She said again as she pointed to fancy restaurants after walking for a while, dragging the whinny Selena along with her.


Selena almost went pale when she saw the restaurant Sophia pointed at. It was one of the restaurants Her parents love eating. She looked around the environment then it dawned on her that they were in her city. The place she grew up, the place she lived her nineteen years of life. The city which held so many memories she doesn't want to get reminded of.


"Sophie I don't want to go there, please let's go back to the pack," Selena pleaded.

But Sophia, who was already in love with the city, refused her plea, "Nah I am in love with it already." She screamed happily, making some eyes turn to her.


Selena continued pleading with her but Sophia couldn't resist the face Selena was giving. "Fine, let's look for another restaurant." Sophia, we can do this when I finally come to the human world when Damien approves of it." Selena said again.


"Fine let's leave if that's what you want, only on one condition," Sophia said, giving a tricky smile.


"I don't want to listen to your reasons, let's leave now." 

"Then fine, come catch me," she said, smiling, running away. "Don't you dare use your powers on me," she yelled, running away. "Catch me if you can!" She continued as she ran away. 


Selena was about to follow her when someone dragged her back, she hissed in pain at the way the person yanked her hand.


"I guess right, it's the school mute," She heard the familiar voice. Turning to the person she met with the person, she has always prayed not to ever meet with. Ever since she was done with high school.


"It's been a long time Vanessa," Selena said, putting on her fake smile. She hated Vanessa her whole life. Vanessa has bullied her all through her high school life, dating James then, so they both derive joy in bullying her. The teacher ignored all this because their parents were one of the influential socialites in society.


"Guess you haven't forgotten about me, that's a nice one and you also look sensible now," 


"What do you want?" Selena asked with a grim expression stopping her smiling facade," 

"It's been a long time since we talk, why don't you allow me to treat you to nice food, I guess you haven't eaten that in a long time."


"Let go of my hands, I am not interested in dining with you," Selena tried to snatch her hands from Vanessa's tight hold. But she failed miserably, she is too weak to do so. Vanessa pulled her back and whispered to her ears.


"I know you ran away from home Selena, James told me everything. One call and they will come picking you." Selena's face went pale with what Vanessa just said. She look back to see if she could Sophia, when she couldn't find Sophia she almost got a panic attack. She doesn't want to go to those devils who call themselves her family.


"Stay away from me, Vanessa you have no right to interfere in my life!" Selena suddenly screamed. Gaining the attention of some passerby, they gave both girls weird stares. "She is just being hysterical. I will take care of this," Vanessa said to the people who were peering. 


"Come with me…. aww!" Vanessa screeched before she could complete her sentence. "She told you to let her go," Sophia said, still bending Vanessa's other hands backward with anger dancing around her gaze. If Vanessa isn't careful she might do something dangerous to her. Sophie was running through the crowd, thinking Selena was behind her. But when she turned to look at her she didn't see her anywhere close by. She called for her but she didn't see her. She was getting scared when she still kept looking but couldn't find her. She recalled Selena kept saying she wanted them to go back but being the stubborn girl she didn't listen. 


She was still listening only for her to see a girl grab her hands with Selena struggling to pull her hands from the unfamiliar hold 


"Who the f**k are you? Mind your damn business!" Vanessa manages to say, she groans in pain when Sophia holds her hands more tightly. To Sophia she was just holding her hands but since Vanessa is a human she couldn't withhold the pain.


"Oh, I am Sophia, her best friend. It will also be nice if you give me some little introductions." Sophia explained dealing with her hands. Vanessa was mesmerized by the beauty standing before her. 


"The f**k! How the hell could your hold be that painful." Vanessa said the moment Sophia released her hands. "A bully should be more powerful, just a little hold and you are already trembling," Sophia said, smirking.

She suddenly became envious of Selena, she couldn't believe that the school mute could get a beautiful girl as a friend.

"Oh I see you are the best friend of the mute, did she tell you she…."

"Vanessa I will dine with you," Selena said, instantly stopping her from talking. Vanessa understands that Selena doesn't want the girl before her to know about her running from home. She decided to use this to her satisfaction.

"Sophie, please let's go with her," Selena pleaded with Sophia. Living with Sophia she knows Sophia wasn't the type that just listens to anyone.

"Fine, I will go just because of you but I can't promise to be nice to her, anytime she does something crazy," Sophia said still casting her a glare. The way Selena is making things go the girl's way didn't go unnoticed by Sophia. She thought about asking when they are both alone. But for now, she was going to let it go for Selena's sake.

Vanessa took them to the restaurant Selena refused to go when Sophia asked to. Sophia stared at Selena weirdly when she saw she wasn't refusing Vanessa's request.

"They took a table by the side of the restaurant, A waiter came asking them what they wanted. Since Sophia doesn't know much about the human world she looked to Selena for help. 

"I said a beautiful girl can't just be a friend with this mute for no reason. You must be some local girl if I am right?" Vanessa asked, making the waiter crack. This annoyed Sophie that she cast a glare at the waiter, staring at him intensely. Selena noticed this, so she touched her and shook her head.

"I am sorry for that miss, what would you like to have?" He asked, looking down.

Selena helps Sophie choose, and the waiter suddenly doesn't feel well so surged out of their presence the moment they order what they wanted.


"So Selena won't you introduce me to Sophia?" Vanessa asked snickering.

"Sophia, meet my high school friend Vanessa. This is my…." 

"She knows me already, first of all, Selena isn't a mute, you can hear her clearly when she talks. And again how did you become friends with Selena?" Sophia asked with a grim expression. She feels like this girl isn't nice to Selena and also isn't friends with her.

"Why should that be your concern? We are friends all through our high school right Selena?" Vanessa asked, turning to Selena.  But sprang up from the chair when she heard the way Sophia hit her hands on the table.

"Do I look like I am playing games with you? For the few months I have been with her I know she allows a useless soul which isn't even up to her status to walk over her. And I am also pretty sure you are one of those species who do so. I am giving you the last warning not to ever let that repeat itself ever again." She said and pulled me up. "Let's go, Selena," 

"I am pretty sure you won't dare leave, since your lovely brother is here," Vanessa announced. Selena stared at her with her eyes wide agape.

"Sophia let's leave now please," I don't want to stay here for another minute. Selena cried out.

"Selena!" 

"She heard her name being called by the person she least expected to meet that day." She turned to the voice, there she saw her parents and brother staring at her. Before a blink of an eye, her mum rushed to her, slapping her real hard, sending her to the ground.

"How dare you ungrateful bastard run away from home after everything we did for you!"
