THE SPELL

"Bingo!" Melissa answered

"But… how did you guys know about it?" Damien asked, confused.

"Get the antidote Alpha, or else we are going to lose her!" Smith let out.

"What antidote?" Damien asked confused.

"The bottle she showed to you, this morning." Melissa chimed in.

Damien dashed to his closet to search for it, he didn't know where exactly she kept it but he knew it was around his closet. He opened the closet ruffling her clothes, but couldn't find them. He searched his things confused as to where she would keep them. 

"Why do you keep ruffling your things without bringing out anything…. Alpha?" Smith asked with gritted teeth.

Melissa walked toward the closet and bit downward, she stretched her hands toward something and a box appeared in her hands. "Can't believe you still don't know much about your mate." She muttered and walk toward the sleepy Selena. 

She opened the box and brought out the small bottle containing the antidote. "Help me open her mouth a bit, to pour the substance into her mouth," Melissa said.

"Hold on, she said her grandma gave her this bottle since she was five, how the hell will I let her take that?"

"You want to lose her right?" 

"Mind your words, one more word…."

"We have no time for chit chat, there is not much time, you can see her face turned pale already," Melissa complained.

"How do you even think that would help?" Damien asked again. "Damien! Do you want to save her or lose her again?" Melissa hiss. 

After much thought Damien finally let them pour the content into her mouth, he helped with opening her mouth. When the whole content was empty in her mouth, Damien let go of her mouth. 

They all waited for a few minutes, but nothing happened, her face still looked pale. "Melissa there is no improvement," Damien whispered.

Suddenly someone appeared before them, a cold wind blew past them, and the whole room was bright as a day. Before Damien could say a word, he was thrown against the wall. "Fiona! Why the hell would you do that?" Melissa yelled.

"How dare you go against my other! I already told you who you should mate with," Fiona roared her eyes were pure white now, she was furious.

"I do what I want mum, I am sick of you controlling me and besides I am the Alpha now!...." Fiona threw light at him, he coughs out blood, but still talks. "She is my mate, I won't make someone else my mate except her, I marked her already and she is mine now. I won't choose someone else!" Damien growled. Fiona threw another lightning at him, but before it could get to him, Smith was quick to block it, surprising them all.

"Stop it, witch! You can't change their faith as you change yours!" Smith barks out. The kind calms Fiona a bit, she was shocked by what Smith just said.

"You should leave now Fiona they don't…." Fiona sends her a tightening pushing her out of her way. She went closer to Smith, who wasn't a bit scared of her. He stands tall with his head high. "What did you just say?" Fiona asked dangerously close calmly.

"You want me to repeat every word I just said? Wonderful I will do so…" 

"Smith, it's fine to let her go," Melissa whispered, she was confused with the way Smith attacked Fiona. She was also shocked Fiona didn't do anything outrageous to him with the way he just spoke to her.

Fiona turned away from Smith and walk closer to Damien, "You want to make her yours? Then have fun making her yours." She smirked, in a flash, she cast a spell and immediately blew It on Selena before any one of them could stop her, then she disappeared.

"They all ran to where Selena was sleeping.

Smith placed his fingers to feel her breath, but he couldn't feel any. He shifted back in shock.

"What is wrong?" Damien inquired, irritated and at the same time scared. He touched his mate only for her body to be cold like that of ice. "Oh my God!" Melissa shifted back, closed her eyes, and stretched her hands towards Selena, some light emitted from her body, and covered Selena. She did that for some time and then opened her eyes, breathing out loudly.

"This is not good," Melissa whispered shifting back. "What is wrong?"

"She just cast a powerful spell on her, a spell she knows I can't break." 

"What?"

"It's the type of spell in which her soul will continue fighting with her body till it gets destroyed, and then she would have a low painful death," Melissa explained.
"What!" 

"Then what are we going to do?" 

"Only she can break the spell," Melissa whispered.

"What the hell!" 

"Damien she's your mum, maybe there is a way you can talk to her," Melissa said.

"What," 

"Dami…"

"Enough!" Damien yelled, he stormed out of the room in anger, heading toward his mum's room. He wanted to open the door but some powers threw him back.

"Back off!" Zyres yelled. Damien turned in anger ready to snap off the head of the person who dared yell at him.

"Easy there, I only did that to save you from her," Zyres quickly replied. He bowed his head, surrendering, not showing any sort of threat against him.

"Is your mate fully protected?" Zyres asked again when he saw Damien was kind of calm.

"What do you mean?"

"Your mate regained her powers already, the whole supernatural beings already felt it," Zyres explained.

"So?"

"Are you going to continue to act stupid?" Zyres suddenly snapped, annoyed with how he kept acting clueless.

"Your mate is a special wolf, what do you think brought about the last war?... This is a time you need to protect your mate, all sorts of beings would be looking for her now." 

"But my mum did something to her…" Damien answered.

"That is the reason why you should be with her now, to protect her."

Damien glanced at his mum's door for some time before he turned to his room using his wolf speed. 

Getting to his room he saw Melissa and Sophia still trying to revive Selena. While Smith leaned on the wall watching them.

"I get that they are doing something, but what are they still doing here?" He asked furiously.  "I am a doctor… Alpha," 

"That's it!" Damien howled. He sprinted toward Smith pinning him on the wall, "How did you appear in my room?" Smith smirked, staring at him without answering his question. 

"I asked a question? What do you need from her?" He yelled again, but Smith continued his act, finding Damien amusing.

"Tell him your reason for being here and stop making him hurt you." Melissa boomed. This gained Damien's attention, he quickly averted his gaze from him and looked down at his mate who was still lying lifeless on the bed.

He released Smith and went close to her, this time her body became a little warm.

"Her body is no longer cold!" Damien said excitedly.

"We gave her some strength, it won't last for more than three days. We will need need to convince my sister to release her from the bondage beforethe end of the third day,"


"What will happen if nothing is done after the three days?" 

"She will die," Melissa said and disappeared. "At least you should f**king tell us or give hints before disappearing!"

"I can't believe I would stoop this low to do this," Sophia whispered. 

A knock was heard on the door, "Alpha it's me." He heard his beta voice.

"Come in…." He said and turned to his sister. "You should leave."

"Why should…." Sophia stopped talking, when she saw his eyes color changed already, she quickly disappeared.

Daren came in and looked around the room confused, he could perceive different scents in this room. "It's Melissa and Sophia," Damien spoke out.

"I get that they were here because you can't stop both of them from doing what they wish… but why is he here?" Daren asked, pointing at Smith who was still leaning against the wall.

"You should ask him yourself." 

"Why is Luna looking pale?" Darren asked, looking at Selena. 

"It's a long story, why are you here?" Daren stared at Smith and looked toward Damien. "It's fine,"

"The council wants to see you and it seems to be urgent." Damien looked in the direction of where Smith was standing but he wasn't there anymore.

"The hell, where is he?" He asked, alarmed, staring at the place in shock. Darren also looked toward there and also couldn't see him any longer.

"Alpha, we will deal with that later but we need to meet with the councils first."

"Go in the place for me."

"The whole beings suddenly felt a new power arise, the elders think the power they felt l, belongs to an Ultima wolf, the enemies have started looking for the wolf. I also get to know that the vampires and the humans have made an ally." Darren announced.

"What?" 

"That's why you should be the one to attend the meeting, I will place guards around your room for protection, you should tell Sophia to stay here with her."

"I don't trust anyone except myself to be with her."

"Why?"

"Because she is the Ultima wolf, get it? All this happened the moment I marked her." 

"What?" Darren whispered in shock.

"How the hell is she an Ultima wolf? I thought…. Why is she unconscious?"

"I marked her, my mum knew, and cast a spell of death on her. Melissa is finding a way to break it, I am also thinking of how to make mum break the spell herself. Seriously, I am f**king tired, So please stop questioning me." Damien answered.

"Don't you think it will be dangerous for you to always be with her?" Darren asked again, regaining himself from the shock.

"Apart from us, no one knows who the Ultima wolf is? Staying with her would bring unnecessary suspicion to her then."

Daren stopped talking when he saw the way Damien was staring at him irritated.

"Let me break this down to you. The wolf council found out you have been living with your mate and also think she is human."

"But she is not,"

"You need to make them believe that till she regains consciousness and also knows how to use her powers."

"But…"

"Alpha, you need to know what is going on in their mind, your mum is also going to be there, I don't think any harm should come to Selena." 

"Fine…." Damien conceded.
