Birthday and coronation

“Why does my head hurt this much?". Alex said, getting out of his bed. Today was his birthday and he would be crowned the new Alpha of the Golden Moon Pack alongside his friends. But something seems off. Kairo was continuously pacing in his head, making him feel dizzy. “What's wrong with you today, Kairo?". Alex asked, gathering the strength he had left and entering into the bathtub. He groaned while his feet touched the water. “Can't wait to see mate.”. Kairo replied. “But we haven't seen her yet, so why are you acting edgy?”. Alex asked, annoyed. “I just don't know, but I feel my mate is close by but I just don't know. It seems something is blocking me from reaching out". Kairo explained. “What does that imply?”. Kairo asked. “There's only one explanation, it's my mate is not here or she is not yet of age”. Kairo said. “Well I have a whole lot of time ahead of me today, I'm not gonna allow you to destroy my morning”. Alex said, blocking Kairo out. He wasn't ready for a commitment yet, so he would be very happy if they didn't sniff their mate today at the gathering for the coronation. “What a pitiful excuse for an Alpha. I'm disappointed”. Kairo spoke, breaking the walls created by Alex. “How did you do that?". Alex asked, confused. “I'm not going to explain anything, you blocked me out, remember”. Kairo scoffed.



After the argument with Kairo,Alex walked into his walk-in closet looking for the best casual outfit. He didn't know why he seemed so interested, but he had to look presentable today. Although definitely the Luna might have other plans for him. He snickered at the thought of his mother ordering him around. He loved his mother, no doubt, but she could be a handful sometimes. Especially when she's made up her mind to make something happen. He wonders how his father was able to manage his mother because she clearly doesn't take a no for an answer. He walked out of the room, walking downstairs to start his day.



“Mina, you don't have to be late.”. Nina shouted, looking upstairs hoping to catch a glimpse of her daughter. “Let's get the presents ready. Hopefully she will be done by then". Beta Nick suggested. Nina nodded. “I'm ready mom". Mina replied, heading downstairs. “Hope you got Alex a present for his eighteenth birthday?". Nina asked her daughter. Mina nodded, avoiding further questions from her mother. She just wasn't in the mood for chitchat today. Yeah, it's true she had lost interest in Alex, but he was still her friend. How can she forget his birthday or something? He would have her head for that. She laughed at that thought. She regained her composure when her mom snapped her fingers in front of her. “Sorry”, she muttered under her breath. “What were you thinking about? You zoned out for a while". Nina spoke. “Nothing more, absolutely nothing". Mina replied steadily, not giving her thoughts away. “Babe enough with the bickering,we ought to go”. Beta Nick interrupted the mother and daughter duo. Nina sat in the passenger seat while Mina sat in the backseat with her present on her lap. “Hope he likes the gift". She thought.



“Happy birthday". The pack members together with his family wished him,, Alex smiled and returned the hug to his parents and sister. “I can't believe you are an adult already. It was just recently I gave birth to you, my baby boy”. Luna Ayla spoke teary-eyed. “Mom, I'm grown up. I'm not a boy". Alex explained, sitting down on the seat beside Noah. “But you will always be my baby boy". Luna explained, laughing at Alex's reaction. Alex looked at his father for help. Alpha Damien cleared his throat to gain the attention of the people gathered. “Shall we eat? The food will get cold". The Alpha suggested gaining cheers from the people gathered at the table. As if on cue, Beta Nick entered with his mate and Mina. Amya quickly grabbed Mina to sit beside her. They ate in silence. After the meal, the Omega's cleared the table while Noah and Mike helped move Alex's presents into his room. “Beta Nick, can I have a word with you in my office”. Alpha Damien asked. Beta Nick followed him into his office. The Luna was busy chatting with her mother on the sofa. Mina smiled.





“So what did you get for Alex”. Amya asked. “I'm not telling you”. Mina replied, sticking out her tongue. “You are no fun, you know that". Amya explained. Mina rolled her eyes.



“So what do you think of this box?”. Alex asked, glancing at Mike and Noah for a clue. “I wonder why you even need a clue when the thing is right in front of you". Noah explained. Mike grinned, uninterested in what was happening at the moment. Alex had opened everybody's gifts with the exception of Mina's gift, suggesting he was leaving the best for the last. His dad, the Alpha, got him the latest Mercedes Benz, while his mom gifted him a locket with the family's picture in it. Amya, on the other hand, gifted him his favorite Nike sneakers. With his two friends, Noah and Mike, getting him suits, claiming he rarely wears a suit. They couldn't contain their laughter when they saw the horror on Alex's face after opening their gift. “It was left with Mina's one but he was really interested in what she got him. “Shaking the box for a hint and failing. He gave up. “I have no choice than to spoil the nice wrapping of the box". Alex spoke, opening the box. “OMG is that what it is”. Mike explained. “You ain't blind are you?". Alex shot back. Nick stood there amused. Alex was frantically surprised at her choice of gift. “She really got me the new PS5. I've been going through my online account to buy one but it was finished. This girl is full of surprises”. Alex spoke smiling. “And it's your favorite color too”. Noah spoke, earning a glare from Alex.
