“Mom, this is not my wedding. Why should I wear the tuxedo suit”? Alex scoffed, looking at the suit as if it was disgusting. Once for all, she wasn't interested in this party, but he knew his mother wouldn't let things go. He just had to swallow his ego and attend, but he didn't like the fact of being forced to wear something he didn't like. “It's the suit or nothing more”. Luna Ayla replied, laughing at her son's annoyed expression. “We will be expecting guests from different packs, you need to look presentable since you are the next Alpha in line. Be in your best attitude and no sleeping around today”. Luna Ayla warned. “How did you know mom”. Alex smirked. “News travels faster than the wind, son. I must say I'm disappointed but we will talk about that later. I need to check up on your sister to make sure everything is fine at her side”. Luna Ayla replied, walking out of the room.



Alex wore the suit and glanced in the mirror, appreciating his good looks. He was definitely going to have a one-night stand today, whether his mom liked it or not. He laughed and headed downstairs, mentally preparing himself for the people downstairs.



Beta Nick, you are welcome. The guard at the door spoke while showing them where the party was being held. Mina followed closely. “I'm gonna attend to matters with the Alpha, you can go look for your friends and talk”. Beta Nick told Mina. Mina glanced at her mother for approval, who gave her a quick nod. Mina hurriedly left, searching the crowd for any signs of Amya. Spotting Amya with a cup of drink talking to some unknown guys, she approached them. “Hey Amya”. Mina said. Amya glanced back and caught Mina in a hug. Mina yelped in surprise. “Max, Matthew meet my best friend and the daughter of the beta,Mina”. Mina smiled at them. “Nice to meet you Mina”. Max and Matthew said in unison. Mina nodded. “Where's Noah and Alex?". Mina asked. “They will be down soon”. Amya replied, grinning at Mina. She knew perfectly well she wasn't asking about Noah but she acted along. They were brought back from their conversation when the Alpha clunked his glass, gaining the attention of the people gathered.



“It's an honor to have you all here at this party organized for my son. You all know how he left for training two years ago. Well, he's back and we need to celebrate his return to the pack. Let the party commence and please have fun". Alpha said while getting down from the stage with Luna Ayla who, had been standing beside him the whole time.



„Look at what we have here”. Mina turned her head to the voice because of it's familiarity. Lo and behold, there stood Anastasia looking overdressed. “What's a loser like you doing at this party?". Anastasia asked. Mina ignored her and left . “Why didn't you do anything?”.Amya asked, surprised at the change in attitude of her friend. “Mom warned me not to fight and I don't want to spoil the fun at this party”. Mina replied. The DJ soon changed the song and the teenagers gathered at the center dancing. “I want to dance, let's go”. Amya dragged Mina. The girls started shaking their waists to the music. When the music died down,Mina fetched a drink from the drink counter. She noticed Alex and Noah staring at her the whole time. “How long have they been staring at me?". Mina thought. She waved, receiving a wink from Alex. “Omg he looks more handsome than before with all those muscles”. Mina thought. “Wait is Alex approaching her with Noah”. Mina blinked since she couldn't believe her eyes. “Hey buddy, it's been a while". Alex spoke while standing face to face in front of Mina. “Says the guy who never called me while he was away and yet still calls himself my bestie”. Nina retorted. Alex dragged her into a hug. “I like this one”. Kairo spoke suddenly. “What's that about?". Alex asked. “I don't know but I like her,we have got to keep an eye on her”. Kairo spoke again. “Is she our mate?”. Alex asked. “I don't know but I just like her”. Kairo spoke, retreating to the back of his mind. “Sorry I hugged you for long”. Mina apologized while looking down. Alex grinned. It was the turn of Noah to hug her. She hugged Noah and went in search of Amya. “Where has that girl vanished to?". She asked herself. “She might be up to no good”. “Mina, is that you? You look so gorgeous. I love your dress. I'm glad you came”. Luna Ayla said. Mina smiled and nodded.

Mina was worried that she couldn't find Amya. She snapped at the tap of someone's hand on her shoulder. “Got you,did I scare you”. Amya said, grinning sheepishly. “Its not funny, I've basically been searching for you for a while,where did you go” . Mina ranted. “I just went to the washroom. I can't be lost in my own house. I guess you saw my brother”. Amya replied. Mina giggled and nodded. “Did you guys kiss already”.Amya said with clear disgust on her face. Mina coughed, surprised by her comment. “Let's head back,they must be looking for us". The two girls headed towards the gathering.Amya saw a friend from a different pack and went to mingle with her while Mina wandered around the pack house. She was drawn to some noise coming from the basement. She followed the noise to the exact room. She gently opened the door, coming to a halt at the sight in front of her. Infront of her was Alex clearly thrusting into a girl. She realized at a quick glance that Anastasia was as if there was no tomorrow. This is clearly not the Alex she knows. What happened at the Alpha training changed him so much. She couldn't hold back her tears. She gently closed the door, bursting into tears. She knew she sounded foolish because, clearly, Alex wasn't her mate but she felt hurt. She left the party mind linking her parents that she had an upset stomach. She couldn't afford to let them see her like that, so she had to lie. They will be worried about anything. She could handle herself just fine. Reaching her room, she kicked her heels and sat on the bed crying bitterly. She didn't know whether Alex was her mate or not but she had liked him since infancy and seeing such a scene was really painful.
