“Mate". Venus whined when Alex came into view. “No way, the moon goddess must be kidding me". Mina spoke through the link to Venus. “You ain't thinking about rejecting him are you?". Venus asked. “No I'm not planning such a thing, but why Alex of all people?". Mina asked. “The moon goddess has a reason for everything, girl, and he's our better half". Venus giggled, making Mina roll her eyes. As if on cue,Alex shot up when the strength of vanilla mixed with strawberries became stronger. He couldn't help but sniff and glancing down he was met face to face with Mina. Mina looked into the ocean-blue eyes of Alex that seemed to be swirling with a lot of emotions. It was as if it was drawing her into the abyss. They were lost in their own world, forgetting about the existence of the people gathered.





“Mine". Alex growled, making everyone snap their heads to look at them. “Mine". He growled again,this time around, making everyone present gasp. Mina was Alex's mate. Luna Ayla's face was beaming with smiles. She had hoped for Mina to be her son's mate and her daughter-in-law. She didn't know the moon goddess would grant her her wishes. She was so happy. She always treated Mina as her own daughter. She looked at her mate, who smiled and nodded.





Nina glanced at her husband, studying his actions. But the only thing Beta Nick did was smile. Her daughter was in safe hands because Alex was a good boy and ever since he ruled the pack, the pack has been flourishing and there has been no rogue attack since he handled the pack. He was a good leader and he knew he would treat his daughter like the queen she was. Out of all the people gathered,Amya was the most surprised one among them. She knew about Mina's crush on her brother but she didn't know she could be his mate. She rushed towards the two of them, pushing Alex aside. She squealed, crushing Mina in a tight hug.





“I can't believe you are Alex's mate. You are so whipped girl. I'm so happy my brother is mated to my best friend. Congratulations girl and welcome into the family". Amya spoke with a grin, making Mina giggle. Mina winced all of a sudden. As if his feet were a person on their own,Alex pushed Amya aside and growled.



“What's wrong with you acting all possessive? Can't you see I'm hugging my friend? I wonder what the moon goddess must be thinking about pairing her with you". Amya spoke annoyed by Alex's actions. “Couldn't you see you were hurting my mate". Alex explained. “I'm sorry Mina. I didn't know I was hurting you. I just got carried away with my emotions. I was so overjoyed that I didn't pay attention to what was hurting you". Amya explained, looking down at her shoes. Mina giggled. “Don't worry, I'm fine, you just hugged me so tightly but I'm OK, as you can see". Mina explained.





“Congratulations darling. I'm so proud of you. I can't believe you are going to be the Luna of this pack. One thing I'm happy about is I get to see you anytime I want and I couldn't be happier. I always thought about you being taken away from us when you find your mate. I guess I worried over nothing". Nina explained teary-eyed. “Mum, why are you crying?". Mina asked. “I'm not crying, it's tears of joy". Nina spoke, wiping away her tears. Nina glanced at her mate, who had been silent all this while not saying anything. Nina poked her mate in the shoulder. Beta Nick glanced up and smiled.





“I'm proud of you darling. Just can't help the fact that you have grown a lot". Beta Nick spoke, hugging his daughter. Alex growled a little. Kairo didn't like his mate being touched by another male. Alex had to explain that she was his daughter and he had all the right to hug Mina. Kairo huffed, annoyed.





“Oh my dear. I'm so happy for you. You are really lucky to find your mate on your birthday. Guess you are blessed by the moon goddess. I'm so happy you are getting to be my daughter-in-law. You have always been a daughter to me and I thank the moon goddess for this day." . Luna Ayla spoke smiling at Mina, who nodded in return. Luna Ayla glanced at Alex and grinned. Alpha Damien stepped forward to congratulate Mina. “Welcome to the family kiddo". He spoke, tapping her shoulder. Nick and Mike congratulated the two of them while grinning at Alex. He is so screwed because Mina will have him wrapped around her finger. Mina looked around, glancing at the genuine smile on everyone's faces. She couldn't bring herself to hurt their feelings. It would be best if she kept Alex's secret to herself and accepted him as her mate. But he's definitely not going to take it easy. He will have to work his way out to prove to her he's a changed man. “As all of us are overjoyed at the turn of events, I would like to say, as a father, I'm happy and proud of my daughter. But Alpha Alex, can I have a word with you only in private?". Beta Nick broke the silence. Everyone present was worried about what Beta Nick was going to say. Nina looked at her mate, who only replied through their link to stay calm. Nina smiled and nodded.





Alpha Alex followed Beta Nick outside. “I must say I'm surprised to have you as my daughter's mate, but I need to express my greatest worry. I want you to treat my daughter with respect and all the love she can get. She is a princess and she deserves to be treated as such. If you hurt even a strand on her head, you will have me to deal with. I wouldn't care if you are an Alpha,if it means protecting my daughter, I will fight you to the core". Beta Nick warned. Kairo didn't like being told what to do, but it wasn't Beta Nick speaking but his wolf who was overprotective of their only daughter. Alex nodded. “I know you really care about your daughter, Beta Nick, but she's my mate and I can't hurt her. My wolf won't allow me to do that. Guess I will have to spew my secrets to you. I've always had a crush on Mina when we were kids and I still do. Being her mate has been the happiest thing that has ever happened to me today and I won't disappoint you". Alex replied. Beta Nick nodded and glanced towards the entrance of the door. They had gathered at the door eavesdropping on their conversation thinking it would lead to a fight or something bigger, but they were surprised when Beta Nick hugged Alex. “Welcome into the family". Beta Nick spoke and walked towards the door .
