Knock knock!!. “Alex may I come in". Amya asked, peeping through the small opening of the door. Alex nodded. He had not left her side since the doctor checked on her minutes ago. The doctor had explained Mina went into a shock from the trauma and was malnourished. He had administered drugs but yet still, she remained motionless, not moving. He had even forgotten about his blood-stained shirt. Alex nodded and Amya scurried inside. “I know you must be going through a lot but you need to take a shower. You do stink and you can't afford Mina to see you like this when she wakes up". Amya pointed out taking a seat beside her brother who had refused to get out of his room. She scrunched her face and pinched her nose. “You are right". Alex laughed, standing up from his seat and walking towards the bathroom.

“Is she awake yet?". Alex asked after dressing in a new outfit. “No, she's still breathing though, but she's not awake. Take time for her. You also have to eat. Let's head downstairs". Amya suggested pouting her cute lips. “No, I want to stay by my mate. You can go ahead and eat with the others, but I'm not leaving her behind". Alex explained stubbornly. “You are going with me and it's final". Amya spoke, dragging him out of the room.







“Son, I understand what you are going through, but you need to exercise patience. Mina wouldn't want you to look haggard when she wakes up. She would be disappointed in you for not taking good care of yourself. You need to eat. She will definitely wake up when the drugs take effect." Luna Ayla explained, watching her son intently. Ever since Mina's disappearance, he rarely ate. He had dark circles under his eyes with stubble on his chin. He looked different, not like the lively son she knew. The moon goddess had been putting her son through a lot, but she knew the strongest bonds are always tested by the moon goddess and they go through challenges. “But mom..." Alex interrupted, trying to stand up from the table. “No buts,sit back down and eat. I cooked these meals myself. You need to eat. Nina will take good care of her. After all, she's her daughter". Alex sighed and reluctantly agreed to stay behind to eat. No one messes with his mom when she makes a decision. After taking 3 spoonfuls of salad, Alex stood up with the excuse of being full. Luna Ayla shook her head, chuckling at her son's attitude. He was just like his father,very stubborn when they wanted something.

“It's been three fucking days. Why is she still asleep? What drug did you give her?". Alex held the doctor by his collar and pushed him into the wall. He was seething with anger. “I just did my job, Alpha,. Luna will wake up when she decides to fight back", the doctor explained in fear. Alex pushed him on to the floor and ordered him out. He didn't want to end up killing his own. He was going insane with Mina not responding to treatment. Her wounds had healed and her skin looked fairer. She had gained weight thanks to the infusion but she was still not moving. He had refused to get out of the room despite the constant nagging from his mother and sister.







“Alex, you came for me". Mina remembered, but why was she stuck in the darkness? What really happened? Her head really hurts and why could she hear faint whispers but couldn't see anyone? The noises became clearer and familiar. Alex was there. She struggled with opening her eyes. She closed her eyes in the sudden brightness and opened them again. She noticed she was in their room. Alex brought her. So it wasn't a dream. She was really rescued by Alex, he came back for her. She tried to sit up and noticed the figure lying on her lap. She slightly lifted her hands and placed them on his head. “Alex", she spoke in a hushed tone.






Alex woke up by the movements. He looked up and gasped. “Mina, you are awake. Omg I can't believe my eyes. He kissed her on the forehead and hugged her tight. “Never do that to me again". “Water". Mina managed to speak. Alex filled the empty glass with water and passed it to her. She gulped it in one go. “I'm hungry". Mina spoke barely in a whisper. “I will go get you food and inform the others you are awake". Alex spoke, standing up from his seat. “Wait.." Mina grabbed hold of his hands, stopping him from moving further. “...I want to go downstairs with you. Can you help me on my feet". Mina asked, offering a faint smile. “No, stay in bed. You need to rest. I will bring the food upstairs and I won't allow anybody inside the room until you finish eating. No more arguments". Alex spoke and left the room. ‘Possessive much' Venus giggled. “I agree with you and we do miss him". Mina smiled, resting on the bedpost.






“What are you doing in the kitchen? Do you want to burn down the kitchen in the pack house"? Amya spoke, walking into the kitchen with her mother and Gina. “I'm cooking for my mate". Alex muttered and scolded himself for saying it aloud. “Mina is awake and you didn't care to inform us". Amya spoke gasping in shock. “I don't want her to be overwhelmed by you guys. She just woke up". Alex explained, continuing with arranging the food on the tray. “I need to go. Inform Mina's parents that she is awake now". Alex flashed a smile, heading upstairs in a hurry. “What the hell just happened here? I'm I missing out something". Mike chimed in, stepping into the kitchen. Amya glared at him and chuckled. “What did I do this time around?". Mike asked, glaring back at her. “Enough you too, this is not time for the two of you to be fighting. Mina just woke up". Luna Ayla explained, warning the two. Gina laughed at Mike, who looked as if he was going to piss himself.
