The heat

Mina woke up and observed Alex was still asleep. She gently turned over and looked at him closer. Alex had a chiseled face with a sharp jawline,a pointed nose,a cute mouth and deep blue eyes which looked like the ocean. He was really handsome. Her hands itched to touch his face, but she restrained herself and just stared at him. He looked comfortable sleeping and he looked cute too. Mina blushed harder when she remembered their ordeal yesterday. They didn't have sex but she experienced her first orgasm yesterday and it was amazing. Mina quickly closed her eyes when she saw Alex moving. “I know you are not sleeping. I caught you red-handed. Do you like what you see?". Alex spoke with a cocky grin, making Mina blush harder than before. She covered her face with a blanket, scolding herself for checking him out early in the morning. “I bet you haven't forgotten about your promise to Amya." Alex reminded her, knowing his sister would scold him if he forgot or even prevented Mina from going. Today was the day Amya had decided to check the gender of her baby but Noah was on a business trip. Amya couldn't complain so she sought help from Mina, who agreed to escort her. Amya had relaxed when she agreed, she didn't want to go to the hospital all by herself. “Oh right thanks. What's the time anyway?". Mina asked, shuffling to stand up from the bed. The blanket was becoming an obstacle in her way. She tossed it aside and stood up waiting for Alex's response. “Few minutes to eight". Alex replied, pushing the clock further back since it was lying on the edge. “Shit, I'm late already. I gotta go". Mina replied, rushing in the direction of the bathroom.



She tossed the blanket on the floor in a hurry, almost tripping on the floor. Alpha Alex burst into laughter. Mina frowned and threw the pillow close to her towards his head. She smiled when it perfectly hit the target. “Ouch what was that for", Alpha Alex asked, rubbing his forehead. Mina stuck out her tongue playfully teasing him and entered the bathroom, closing it with a loud thud. Alex chuckled and shook his head at her childish reactions.



“That was quick". Alex spoke when Mina rushed out with a towel wrapped around her body. Alex's eyes darkened with a lustful gaze. He just shook his head and walked away. “I'm off for training sessions with the guys and the rest of the pack members. Take care on your way. Zander will drive the two of you". Alex explained, closing the door. Mina fussed because she could perfectly protect herself and Amya, but she knew she wouldn't win this argument at all costs because Alex was right. She can't risk the safety of Amya right now because she is very vulnerable. If something is to happen to her and her unborn pub,Beta Noah will go insane with their loss.



Mina sat in front of the vanity staring at herself in the mirror. She contemplated the hairstyle and decided on letting her whole hair fall down in waves. She made a smokey eye and applied blush on her cheeks, topping it with lip balm. She walked out holding her side bag. She looked exactly like someone going to a club rather than a luna escorting her friend to the hospital for a checkup. Mina walked downstairs from the room and headed into the kitchen, grabbing an apple from the fridge. She flashed a smile at the omegas working in the kitchen to prepare breakfast. She walked out of the pack house and found Amya already seated in the vehicle. That was pretty fast. She rolled her eyes and opened the back seat, telling Amya to push to the other side, who just chuckled in response and pushed.



“Should I set off now?". Zander asked, looking through the rearview mirror at the tense situation in the back seat. The Beta female looked completely annoyed and it seemed that the luna had a role to play in this. “Let's head in the direction of the pack house". Amya said, relaxing the awkwardness in the car. Zander nodded and ignited the car heading in the direction of the pack house. It was a ten-minute drive. Arriving at the pack house, the senior doctor was already standing in front of the hospital to welcome them. “There's no need for that, Dr Morris. I think there are a lot of people who are in dire need of your service more than us". Amya explained once they were welcomed by the senior pack doctor. “Nonsense, how can I be busy when the Luna and beta female have decided to grace us with their presence. Please come in, beautiful ladies". Dr Morris spoke, adjusting his glasses. Dr Morris was a man in his early sixties but he still loved to treat the pack members despite his old age.



Coming in front of the room with the inscription ‘Scan room',Dr Morris halted and ushered them inside. “You have to lie on the bed, Beta Amya". Dr Morris explained meticulously. “This is going to be very cold". Dr Morris explained by applying a gel to the lower part of her exposed belly. Amya shuddered at the sudden coldness. Mina giggled at her reactions and muffled her laughter when Amya glared in her direction. Dr Morris used the wand to move gently at the area applied with the gel. “Look at the screen". Dr Morris said, pointing towards the image of the foetus on the screen. “Wow, that is amazing". Mina exclaimed. Amya nodded in response. “The baby is in good health and shape. This right here is his heart and that..." Dr Morris said, pointing downwards at the screen. “...is his scrotum. It's a boy". Dr Morris explained. Mina smiled, happy for her friend.Amya burst into tears, which worried Dr Morris. He looked over at the Luna for help, who just dismissed him and told him to give them some time alone. “What's wrong Amya, don't you like a baby boy"? Mina asked in concern. “I am stupid. I'm just happy. These are tears of joy". Amya explained, laughing at her friend's comment. Mina chuckled and hugged her. Mina offered a helping hand, assisting Amya to get down from the bed. Dr Morris handed them the printed copies of the scan.



In the car, Amya tapped Mina's shoulder to gain her attention. “I know you are as happy just as me, but let me break the news to the rest of the family". Mina nodded in response and got down once the car parked in front of the pack house. “You didn't take long". Gina spoke, which startled them. “How long have you been standing here". Amya asked. “I've been waiting for you guys for a while now. Can you give me the gist of what happened". Gina asked, intrigued. “No please". Amya stressed on the please chuckling. “It's not our fault you had an upset stomach early this morning". Mina teased, looking at the frown forming on Gina's face. “That's not fair and you know it". Gina huffed, following them inside. “Mom!". Mina exclaimed when she saw her sitting on the sofa chatting with Luna Ayla. Nina stood up and hugged her daughter. “It's been a while I came to check up on you". Nina explained, breaking the hug and resuming her seat. “Hi aunty". Mina whispered and bowed slightly at Luna Ayla, who just chuckled in response. Mina looked at Amya, motioning for her to break the good news. Amya sighed and sent a link to the guys. Within a few minutes, everyone was gathered in the living room. Amya squealed when she realized her mate had returned from the business trip. She hugged him, inhaling his masculine scent, which made her happy all the time. “I missed you". Amya whispered, still wrapping her arms around his neck. “I missed you too". Beta Noah explained, flashing her a smile. They broke the hug when someone cleared their throat.
