Confusing Emotions

Elena's POV

I was excited to be going out today. The Grand Luna offered to have me driven by one of her drivers as they were still making arrangements for mine. I declined and insisted on going out myself so I could sightsee and connect with everyone better.

Someone crashed into me, she was crying profusely and my instincts told me to just let it go. She was probably going through a lot already. Retrieving my key that fell to the floor in the encounter, I heard an annoyingly familiar voice.

"It's all your fault." She yelled.

"Anita?" I said, shocked that she was in that mood. I know that Wesley doesn't want her here but he shouldn't have done anything to hurt her.

"Yes. He threw me out because of you. Did he tell you that I was with him for twenty-four years of my life? I'm twenty-five now and the chances of me ever getting my mate is slim. Are you happy with destroying another woman's happiness?" She yelled at me. I was quite surprised because she was the one who cheated on Wesley on the day of their wedding.

"Look, I'm surprised you have the guts to say all these. Wesley caught you cheating on him on the morning of the wedding, what did I have to do with that?" I fired back at her, seeing that she was like one of the people from my former pack. They absolved themselves of responsibility and tried to heap all the names on me whenever anything went wrong. Since I made up my mind not to tolerate that again, I would also not let her speak to me about something she was guilty of.

"You...you... how dare you say that to me? Wesley was mine for twenty-four years and you believed that bullcrap that I will ever cheat on him?" She asked, looking at me like I was foolish for believing the only man who has been kind to me and taken care of me since I left Omnidom.

"I didn't know him six months ago, not like I owe you an explanation but you need to learn how to live with your truth. You keep lying to yourself about who you are and that is why you will keep repeating the same mistakes." I added and she looked at me, at a loss for words.

"You can say whatever you want now, but soon, you will be in the same shoes as me, if not worse, and just like me, there will be no one to believe a word that comes out of your mouth." She said and I nearly laughed.

"Oh please, Anita, stop being so dramatic. There is so much CCTV footage of you two together multiple times. On the highway, in the car, entering the forests, high-end and low-end hotels too. Even the morning of your wedding was captured by the drone shot that was currently happening to capture your entrance from an aerial view. I have absolutely nothing to be mad with Wesley for, you wanted to eat your cake and have it too." I finished and she stood there, puffing on anger with her fists clenched tightly.

"Wesley is mine and you will see. I am going to get him back no matter what you all say." She yelled and transformed into her wolf form.

It was surprising because her brown-colored wolf began to prance around me like she was baiting prey. There was no way I could fight back as a wolf so I grabbed the vase behind me, ready to strike her as hard as I could if need be.

She laughed at me, she had sensed my selflessness and decided that it was a good time to taunt me about it before attacking me. There was no way to reach out to anyone and if I tried to scream, she would probably rip my throat into pieces before I got out a word. Also, I could not outrun her so the only option left was to stand back and fight.

"Why don't you morph into your wolf form so we can have a fair fight? I feel like a bully werewolf fighting a weak human, just that you are worse than that, aren't you? You wolfless low-life bitch!" She yelled and lunged for me, I dodged her quickly, waiting only at the last moment before I made a move.

"Why don't you quit bitching around for a man who doesn't even want you anymore?" I fired back. I should probably not have said that because she charged at me angrily again. This time, with more precision, and before I could dodge her attack, her claws dug into my arm, drawing blood.

I clutched my arm and let out a painful scream, she leaped for me again. With everything left in me, I slammed the vase on her head. She staggered back before regaining her stamina, this time around, I was sure that she was coming for the kill.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck" I said and closed my eyes, expecting her to rip me apart.

Nothing came, instead, I heard a loud crash and opened my eyes to see what had made that sound. Wesley was panting in front of me with his claws hanging out. His wolf was a plain black wolf, very rare and known for their anger.

He morphed into his human form and quickly held me tightly to his chest. His arms immediately offered me warmth.

"Matthew, that woman has really gone beyond boundaries this time around. I won't forgive her. Throw her into one of the prisons. Let her be starved until I say otherwise." Wesley ordered and the man he called Matthew nodded, hauling Anita off the floor.

"Are you okay?" He said and kissed my forehead. He didn't stop kissing me and soon he was growling against my skin, the area that Anita had grazed became numb as Wesley's lips closed over mine.
