No Pain, No Gain

Wesley's POV

"Elena, why have you been avoiding me since yesterday?" I demanded from her coldly.

"I am not avoiding you Wesley, I have had to take care of the grand Luna and she wants something right now." She said not meeting my gaze as she tried to wave past me.

"Oh no, you don't. She didn't ask for anything because I was just coming from her room looking for you and she said she has been begging you to take a rest since yesterday." I said, my voice was calm but every word that came out of my mouth was said with sternness.

"Why don't you let me go? I'm not bothering anyone and I just want to spend enough time with her. As much as I can." She said and I pulled her close to me.

"You have been avoiding me for days now. Are you trying to make me feel guilty for what I have done? Because I have a different way of assuaging my guilt." I said, not knowing where these flirtatious words were coming from.

The honest truth was that I missed her a lot and noticing that she was deliberately avoiding me made me feel weird about what had happened with us. I felt bad for giving her alcohol in the first place knowing that she wouldn't have moved to me.

"I am not trying to make you feel guilty Wesley. I have truly had a lot to do. That is all and you should take my word for it." She assured me and I kissed her without warning.

She wriggled against me while my wolf panted and puffed, wanting to take over and claim his mate again.

I pulled back from her, she had bitten my lips and her mouth was stained with my blood. She didn't spit out, instead she licked it. It was strangely a turn-on for me as I lifted her and pinned her back to the wall, securing both her wrists in my palm, I kissed her again. She fought back but soon relaxed and I eased into her mouth.

We both didn't care that we were on the passage and anyone could actually come in and see us. The only thing that kept running through my mind was the need to be inside her.

When I touched her, she winced in pain and I felt bad that she was still healing from what we had done before. I slowly put her down and closed my eyes, willing myself to be more understanding of her situation.

"Go Elena" I managed to say. My body was blazing hot and I didn't know how long I could control myself before I gave in to the need to be all over and inside her.

"Why? Are you okay Wesley?" She asked me and I didn't say anything. Her voice made my wolf puff and howl, it wanted its mate and was raging to take over. I knew he would not be gentle with her and Elena needed more time to heal.

"Just go." I rasped out. She left quietly and I stayed still for some more seconds trying to gather my emotions together.

"Alpha, some men are here to see you." One of my men informed me. I took a deep breath, turned without saying anything, and followed him to my office.

"Councilman," I said and the man who sat in my office stood up to welcome me.

"Alpha. Good morning" he greeted, taking my outstretched hands.

"Sit down. What brought you here so early?" I asked him and took my seat. He cleared his throat and began to explain his reason for coming.

"Alpha, there has been an increase in kidnap at the southside. Two weeks ago, a young boy was abducted on his way to the playground and we have had several others taken from the park. We don't have any clue what is going on as the CCTV cameras set around the city don't capture anything. It's like they just vanished into thin air." He explained and I could see how baffled he was by the experience.

"Do you have the identity of the missing children? Has your security team built up any files for them?" I asked him if that would give me a headstart on the case.

"Yes. I brought them." He said and handed the documents to me.

"Hmm," I said as I looked at the documents. There was something particular about when the kids were kidnapped, they all seemed to have disappeared at the same time.

"Nothing makes sense to my men and no matter what we do, it doesn't just seem to work. It's like they can see us and they know our next step even before we make it." He complained.

"All the children seemed to have been kidnapped at four pm. That is what we will need. Have you ever tried baiting the criminal?" I asked him, to be sure we were not going to repeat anything they had already done before.

"No, we haven't. And the only time we tried to bait, we did it in the morning. Nothing happened but a child was kidnapped that same day just a few hours later." He said and I nodded my head gently.

"Alright. I will have someone take care of everything. Do not worry yourself, for now, call a curfew and have every child home before four pm. Let me know if there is a new case in a week, give reassurance to them that the kids will be found as I am the top of the case.

"Thank you so much Alpha. My mind is at rest now." He said and left shortly after.

"Get me the CCTV Footage of the entire southside, all access to the city too. Something funny is going on." I said to the head of my security team after the man had left.

"Alright boss." He replied and left my office.

I needed to get to the root of things before my wedding. It will not cast a good image on the Luna, I thought to myself.
