A Perfect Luna

Wesley's POV

"Do you all understand who that woman is?" I roared at the men. I had expected this to happen and I didn't want them to know that Elena was an Ace wolf until she was fully transformed.

"You are the strongest Alpha here, we expected better from you." One of the Alphas present said.

"Better? What do you mean by that Alpha?" I demanded to know.

"She is not any better than a weakling human. What happens when there is a war and she needs to fight? It is a loss and I don't think that she is suitable enough to be the Luna." He said.

"Are you fit to be Alpha? You are a wolf yet I am aware that you are responsible for the death of 120 children in your pack a few years ago. Or weren't you the one that cut off the water supply from a low pack next to you simply because they won't bow down and worship you? If you choose to talk about my wife, I suggest you do that with the knowledge that you do not have anything wrong with you. Let this be the first and the last time I ever hear of such a thing. Any further complaints?" I asked and watched the men all cower in fear.

I looked around and saw that the seat that had initially been occupied by the Alpha of Omnidom was now empty. Shortly after, Elena walked back, her eyes were bright and she immediately climbed the podium to address the men seated.

"I am aware that my selflessness does not sit well with you all, if there is anyone of you here who knows how to get a wolf, kindly let me know because I will surely be at the front of the line for that. The moon goddess has made me this way and it is quite shameful the beliefs that men of your calibre carry. No disrespect intended since I want to believe that your grievances emanated from your love for the Wolf Kingdom but I can assure you all that I share the same feelings. It is in the light of this that I stand here today, as someone who has a duty to see to the growth and development of the wolf Kingdom." Elena said and I was pleasantly shocked.

Knowing Elena, something must have happened to trigger her because unlike before, her hands no longer shook and her words were clear. I looked around again and saw that Devon was back in his seat with a raging face. I made up my mind to find out what had transpired because I was sure that he had said something to her.

"...with this, I am sure that we will.be able to fish out the person or people behind these heinous crimes." Elena finished and everyone stood up to clap for her.

Her brilliance was radiating around the room and everyone could see that she was not in any way inferior to the other Lunas with wolves who only came to grace the occasion. Elena walked to me and kissed me gently before taking her seat next to me. I beamed with pride and wished that I could get everyone to eat the words they had said to her earlier.

"Our dearest Luna, we sincerely apologize for how we had spoken to you earlier. Truly, the only thing that we were looking out for was the general well-being of the kingdom. Please, do not take our words to heart and kindly forgive us if we have offended you in any way." One of the Alphas apologized on behalf of everyone else.

"I hold no grudges. Thank you." Elena said and held my hands.

"Are we going to adopt her method of solving this crime?" Wesley asked and the men in the room nodded in response.

"Good. We are going to have a merged security team. Other plans will be made but it will not be made public and I am sure you all know why." Wesley said and the men nodded again.

"Alright then. With that, this meeting is over. You may all leave." Wesley finished and held Elena's hands, gently leading her back to the car. She still looked upset and that was totally understandable considering what had just happened in there. Even though she had turned the tables around and left the men feeling foolish for doubting her abilities in the first place.

"What happened when you went to the ladies room?" I asked her as soon as we were back in the car. She collapsed on my chest and bawled like a baby.

"Devon called me useless when I went to the ladies. He followed me to say that. I have never had anything personal to do with him aside from the day he openly rejected me just to make my sister feel good about herself. I felt so enraged, it's obvious that nothing I do or become will ever be enough for them. I hate having to see myself through his eyes, the memories that I was trying to bury and move on from. Even though I told him that he was nothing too, it still doesn't sate the rage burning in my heart." She said and I gave her my hand towel to wipe her tears with.

"You won't have to worry about him anymore, I promise. Now stop crying, you did really well back there and I am super proud of you." I said and kissed her cheeks.

We didn't say anything else till we got back to the palace and met the doctor just coming down the stairs. He had a worried look on his face as I approached him.

"Alpha, thank goodness that you are back. The Luna had a seizure, luckily for us, Ashley was with her at the time so she immediately called for help. I'm afraid she doesn't have much time left." He said.

"Where is she?" I demanded.

"Still in her room." He replied and made way for me.
