Unfamiliar Emotions

Elena's POV

I rushed to the Grand Luna's room, struggling to steady my breath before going on. She was sleeping when I got in so I was at a loss on what to do.

My heart was beating so fast in my chest and I sat down to catch my breath. Wesley was evoking feelings in me that I didn't know what to do with. I was worried about finally finding my mate and if it turned out not to be him.

A soft knock sounded on the door, interrupting the raging war going on in my mind. I went quickly to the door so the person knocking did not disturb the grand Luna's sleep.

"Hey," Ashley said quietly, she was holding a bag of fruits and trying to be as quiet as possible. She must have met Wesley who told her to be quiet.

"Let's go to my chambers and talk," I said quietly, and together, we left the room for mine at the end of the hall.

"Your chamber is tastefully done. I love it." Ashley said and examined the fabrics of the curtain. She couldn't help the stylist's side of her as she strolled around the room, examining every fabric.

"Thank you, Ashley. Now come here so we can talk. You didn't come to see the fabrics did you?" I said to her and she laughed.

"Pardon me. I have barely had the opportunity to touch a fabric this expensive." She said and sat down opposite me but still looking around the room.

I remembered the first day Wesley had told me this was my private chamber, for dressing up and some alone time if I ever needed to get some. It was the most stunning thing that I had ever seen and doubted if I would ever be able to walk out of it. But I had, and over the past few weeks, I have gotten used to seeing so many magnificent things that wealth barely moves me anymore.

"I was worried. You didn't come as planned the other day. Thought I was oversharing already and scared you away." I said nervously and Ashely smiled warmly.

"Come on! You think I will be stupid enough to miss my chance of being the friend of the Luna. Girl, that is getting the right friends in the right places." She said and I laughed.

Ashley always knows how to lighten my mood no matter what was going on in my mind. I was grateful for her kindness and how open she has been to me.

"You can't be serious," I said as we both relaxed.

A maid brought us tea and shortly after Wesley came up to see how I was doing.

"Hey babe." He said and headed straight for me, planting a kiss on my forehead. His face was expressionless and I could see Ashley blushing furiously on my behalf.

"Hey." I managed to say and avoided his eyes shyly.

"I'm going to the southside. Something came up and it needs my urgent attention." He said calmly. I nodded my head in acknowledgment shyly, the words getting stuck in my throat and refusing to come out.

"Take care of her." He said to Ashley while she smiled like she was looking at the best thing to ever happen in her life.

"I will Alpha." She said curtly and he walked out of the room.

It took a few seconds for me to tear my eyes off the door after he had left, every step he took was well-calculated and his shoulders moved in tune with his steps. There was something really beautiful about the way he did anything,

"You look hungry," Ashley said and I licked my lips hurriedly to mask how I really felt. I could drool and my cheeks immediately reddened in embarrassment.

"I don't. That is not what you should focus on. Something is happening Ash, and I don't know what to do about it." I said shyly. Ever since Wesley and I went down, I have been feeling sore and there was no one I was close enough to discuss such with. I thought about going to Aliyah but she has been acting weird in recent times so the best thing was not to bug her about personal things.

"Tell me. What is going on?" She asked, looking genuinely concerned.

"So, a few days ago, I went all the way with Wesley and I have been sore since then. I don't know how to explain things to him and you are the only one that I am not too shy to talk to." I said, swallowing all the anxiety I felt.

"Oh, that's pretty normal. All you have to do is use warm water to massage it till you feel better." She said casually like it was nothing.

"Oh, okay," I said, at a loss at what next to say. I had thought that it was a big deal and I wasn't supposed to hurt for so long after the deed had been done.

"You were worried about it?" She asked, noticing my mood.

"Yes, I was. I didn't know." I admitted and she smiled.

"You can ask me anything you want to know. I was a reckless teenager once or maybe a couple of times." She said and laughed.

Her ease helped make me feel better and soon, we were talking about what had happened to her before. She had quite an eventful childhood and I was again reminded of what I had suffered at the hands of my pack members at Omnidom.

"What about you? What is your story?" She asked me after we had chatted about her life for hours.

"Pretty uneventful. I didn't really live till I met Wesley. He is my knight in shining armor." I said and a certain warmth enveloped my heart.

"You love him, don't you?" She asked me and I hesitated. I wasn't sure how I felt even though I had said it to him.

"It's pretty obvious that you are head over heels for him." She said and we both laughed but the question trailed my mind for the rest of the day.
