A Flame Of Forever
Elena's POV
I was relieved when I was going home, disappointed that Aliyah never showed any care or concern. Wesley noticed the look on my face as he drove and suddenly stopped the car, parking carefully to avoid causing traffic.
"What's that look on your face?" He asked me, I was surprised he noticed the disappointment on my face. No one had ever paid such close attention to me before.
"Nothing. I just thought that Aliyah should have come down to support me. Ashley came and she is barely my friend yet." I admitted, reminded of the fact that he could read my thoughts.
"Aliyah moved to a new place today. She was probably too exhausted to come down. She also does not know her way around, so don't worry about that. I'm sure she will come around soon." He said comfortingly and bent down to plant a kiss on my forehead.
I raised my face and caught his lips with mine. His body stilled at first but then it began to ease into what I was blindly doing. He took over, leading me tongue by tongue as he deepened the kiss with every stroke. I moaned against his mouth, unaware that kissing could be sexually stimulating.
All I wanted was for him to take me to the back seat and show me what I was missing out on. My curiosity was piqued when I roamed my hands all over his body shyly.
He groaned and pulled away from the kiss, grabbing my hands tightly.
"Are you sure you are ready for this?" He asked me, his eyes shut tightly.
"I don't know. Maybe I am." I said, my voice low and barely audible. His reaction was scaring me and I wondered if something would go wrong. I was unsure whether I wanted to give him my body or not.
"Make sure you are ready next time." He said and eased out of where we parked the car back on the road.
Soon we were home and the Grand Luna was brought home and admitted to her room, so she could make a full recovery.
The doctor before he left, asked to speak with Wesley and me. His tone suggested that everything was not alright.
"Is everything okay with my mother?" Wesley demanded, his face was calm.
"Well, I am surprised she didn't tell you all what is wrong with her." He said and shook his head, removing his glasses and wiping them clean.
"So what is wrong with her?" Wesley asked.
"She has ovarian cancer. We have been managing it for about ten years now. I'm afraid we can't manage it anymore." He said and I fell into Wesley's arms. My heart was broken. She was the first person who didn't have to be kind to be that really was. She has loved and taken care of me in the few months that I have stayed here and I will forever be grateful to her for that.
"And what does that mean?" He asked the doctor again, his voice still calm like he didn't just hear what he said.
"I'm afraid, we are witnessing the Grand Luna's last days. I'll advise you to make her as comfortable as you can and show her how much you love her. She will be needing all the support that she can get." He advised and Wesley nodded his head.
The two men shook hands and the doctor took his leave, leaving me devastated and in tears.
"It's okay baby. Let's go and see her. I'm sure she must be looking for an innocent person to tease." He said and led me upstairs, wiping my eyes as we made our way to the Grand Luna's room.
"Are you alright?" He asked me when we got to her door, I understood he didn't want us carrying sullen faces around her since his mom didn't want us to know.
"I'm fine," I answered and we entered the room together, hand in hand. The Grand Luna smiled at us brightly when we got in, it was hard to even tell that anything was wrong with her. She was the most positive person I know and my heart broke that she carried everyone's burden so well, but didn't let us even share a tiny bit of hers.
"The love birds." She teased and laughed.
We managed to laugh while Wesley joined her on the bed, I sat on the sofa facing her.
"I saw you both parked your car on your way home. I also caught a glimpse of you both kissing. With the way you both are going, we might have an heir before the year runs out." She teased again and I blushed furiously.
I didn't realize that anyone had seen us, the kiss had been so consuming that just thinking about it now brought nearly the same feeling.
"Don't worry mother. All you have to do is get well soon." Wesley said and kissed her hands gently.
"You bet I will. Who am I supposed to leave children that will definitely be as stunning as you are for? Innocent Elena?" She asked and Wesley pretended to be hurt by her words by clutching his chest.
"Mother." He said and they laughed. It was almost like nothing was wrong and the events of the last twenty-four hours had just been imagined by me.
"Elena?" I heard Wesley call me and jumped. I was so lost in thoughts that I didn't even know that they had turned their attention to me.
"Yes. Sorry. I got carried away." I said and sat up.
"Well, I hope you were getting solutions for how fast I demanded an heir?" The Grand Luna asked and I managed a smile.
She tapped her side on the bed and I got up, moving to her and laying in her arms.
"I love you both so much." She said and the tears welled up in her eyes.
I joined her in crying while Wesley held us, two sobbing women till late into the night. For once, everything felt better than it did for me and I was looking forward to what next life would bring.
