Undeniable Emotions
Wesley's POV
My heart stopped in my chest as I heard the gunshot. Looking at who had shot the gun, I was shocked to see Anita bolting out of the hall while the guards immediately circled around her and wrestled her to the ground.
"Elena?" I called her name as she grabbed her arm and slowly slipped to the ground.
"Get me the doctor!" I yelled as I carried her and sprinted up the stairs, ripping my tailored shirt and using it as a makeshift tourniquet to control the blood loss till the doctor came in.
Shortly after the doctors came in, followed closely by my mom as I sat beside the now-unconscious Elena. She was looking pale and the gown she wore made her look like an ethereal being.
"Is she going to be fine doctor?" I asked as my mom led me out of the room to give the doctors enough space to attend to her.
"I am going to kill Anita with my bare hands when this is over," I said through gritted teeth.
"I have addressed your guests and assured them that everything was under control. Hopefully, we are able to come up with a motive for Anita's actions without damaging her reputation like you have always wanted." My mother said and I shook my head.
"To hell with her reputation this time around. I don't care. She will have to bear the full brunt of her actions and I will be damned if I interfere in it anymore." I said to her.
"Alright son. I totally support that." She said just as one of the doctors came out of the room to address us.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Well, she is stable now but the bullet is still deeply lodged in her arms. We would need to move her to the Pack's hospital as that is where we will be able to take it out, she also has a couple of shattered bones and we will have to fix a cast for that." He said and I feared that with the look on his face, the worst was yet to come.
"Is there anything else we need to talk about?" My mom asked.
"She also needs blood. Lots of it so we would need to test all of your blood to ensure that we have something at hand before we begin to operate on her. Cases like hers are special as I am well informed that she doesn't have a wolf?" He said and I was torn between telling him the truth or keeping up with the façade.
"No, she doesn't. Do whatever it takes to save the life of my daughter. I will inform her parents and we will all go with you to the hospital to check her blood compatibility. Wesley, get in touch with Aliyah and inform her to make herself available." She immediately instructed and the doctor bowed respectively before retreating to the room.
"She has a wolf mother. Elena is an ace wolf." I said and her eyes rounded in surprise.
"An ace wolf? It's been over twenty-two years since we last had one and they are from one of the strongest packs. If none of Elena's parents are of that bloodline, I doubt how possible that would be. Have you confirmed this information?" She asked me and I nodded my head.
"Yes, mom. She is really an ace wolf." I repeated.
"Alright. We will sort that out once she gets better. For now, get Aliyah here or delegate Ashley to do that while I round up her parents." My mom said and I immediately went to my study to call Aliyah.
"Hello, Wesley." She said and I wondered how she even knew that was my cell number in the first place.
"We need you to meet us at the pack clinic, something happened and we need you to get your blood checked so we know it's compatible with Elena's," I said.
"Why?" She asked, sounding disappointed as if that was not what she had been expecting me to talk about.
"Your sister has been shot and she needs blood because she lost a lot. Meet us at the Pack's clinic now." I said and hung up, making a mental note in my mind to make sure that she left the pack if she didn't show up at the hospital.
"Is she on her way?" My mom asked me as she entered into my study.
"I have informed her of the latest developments. I don't know if she will. show up or not as she is trying to avoid her parents. A long story we do not have the time for right now Mother." I said as we rushed out of the palace.
Matthew and Ashley had already finished by the time we got there and I immediately went in to get my blood checked.
A few minutes later, Elena's parents sauntered in, looking like they had been forced to make an appearance and not even showing any form of concern.
They went in reluctantly with her mom claiming to be terrified of needles while her father stood in solidarity with his wife that whatever she won't take, he also won't be a part of.
"Just go in," I said in the hardest tone I knew, knowing that if they didn't do this test, I would have them thrown in jail.
They eventually went in after so many flimsy excuses and came out a few minutes later, hurrying to leave the hospital like their daughter was out of the danger zone.
Another six hours passed with me pacing around the reception area and stopping everyone in a white coat that passed by my side.
Finally, a familiar doctor came out of the theatre and removed his face mask.
"Alpha Wesley" he addressed me but we all rushed to him, nearly knocking him over.
"She is fine now but, none of your bloods matched with hers." He said, looking confused himself.
"Not even her parents?" I asked.
"No." He answered.
"What does that mean doctor?" I asked and the next words that came out of his mouth aroused my suspicions.
