"Why his house?" Seth popped in "you barely know him"
"Well, I'm choosing his house, so I can avoid your stares and distractions. I am a wolf, I can fight for myself" she answered.
"If that what you want" Olivia said, "but you have to call, or mind link me if you need us around"
"Sure, but I don't think I'll need any of you" she smiled at them, "I missed you guys, so I decided to come say hi"
"Changing the topic" Olivia murmured, rolling her eyes and Mercury giggled,
"You miss us?" Seth asked immediately, and she nodded with a smile
"You mostly" she answered "I stayed with Olivia all night, why should I miss her?"
"I'm surprised you miss me" Seth grinned.
"You're lucky, I might not miss you next time" she smiled as Seth joyful expression vanished and she laughed "that's a joke, Seth".
"How is Adam?"Olivia asked and Mercury turned to her, folding her arms.
"He's with his lover, so he's perfectly fine. I should return to my class", she grinned and kissed Olivia cheeks before walking out of the class.
She walked into the class, sat on the desk and turned to Adam and Jupiter who glared at her curiously as they noticed the smile on her face.
"Don't make me scream, spill it!" Jupiter shouted, and Mercury giggled and moved closer.
"I would be having an appointment with Mr. Kenny", she whispered the last word with smiles on her face and Jupiter folded her arms and raised her brows in confusion.
"Did you confront him?" Jupiter asked, and she shook her head negatively,
"Can you please go straight to the point?" Adam frowned.
"Let me break it down to your understanding" she smirked, "I'll be having an extra class with Mr. Kenny after school".
"How did that happen?" Jupiter asked in curiosity and disbelief.
"He promised to pick a student for an extra class if he or she was able to solve the problem on the board and luckily I appeared, he asked me to give a try since the other students couldn't solve it and to his surprise, I solved it, there by earning an extra lesson with him", she grinned and did a victory dance as her sister and Adam stared at her in amazement and happiness.
"I'm happy for you Mercury" Jupiter smiled excitedly, "you'll get to see him every day".
"Where would the classes hold?" Adam asked.
"Well we haven't discussed about that yet. But I'll prefer we study at his apartment" she answered.
"His apartment?" Jupiter and Adam asked in unison with a frown and she nodded,
"You can't possibly think of his apartment, why would you choose that?" Jupiter questioned,
"Obviously to avoid you all. I need to concentrate, and you'll be a distraction, that's something I don't want" she answered.
"Are you really going to learn or trying to get him to yourself", Jupiter fired back rolling her eyes,
"And why making this a big deal? I am a wolf, a well-trained one, so I can defend myself and easily I'll call if I need your help"
"You win, princess Mercury", Adam bowed and rolled his eyes "be careful, I don't want anything to happen to my cute tough sugar plum"
"I'll be fine" she grinned, and she looked away a teacher entered the class, Mr Kenny again. The students greeted, and he answered with his usual smile.
"Well I have something for you'll, I did it at the other class" he began "any student that is able to solve the problem I'll write on the board would have an extra class with me"
The students roared happily but Mercury frowned, she didn't want an extra person with her.
"Mercury won at the other class, let's see who joins her" he walked to the board and began writing the same problem he had gave the other class. Jupiter raised her hands along with the other students, she wanted to be with her sister but immediately Mercury dragged her hand down.
"What are you doing?" They both asked themselves simultaneously.
"Obviously trying to answer the question" Jupiter answered
"And obviously trying to stop you from raising your hands. I don't need company and I'm sure none of the students can solve that math problem" Mercury fired
"Not when he has pointed Chloe, who is almost intelligent as we", Jupiter said and immediately Mercury turned to see Chloe moving to the board, she cursed inwardly as she saw the smile on Chloe face, she prayed for Chloe to solve it wrongly, but her prayers fail. Chloe solved the problem and turned to Mr Kenny.
"Well, well, you've done well. You used the simple minor method and got the answer correctly, so you are also qualified to join my extra class" he smiled at her and she bowed politely before walking back to her desk excitedly.
"Maybe if you had let me answer the question, I would be the one joining you instead of the asshole" Jupiter said angrily to her sister.
"I didn't know she would answer correctly" Mercury said in regret burying her face in her palm.
"Mercury and Chloe, step forward" Mr. Kenny called and they both walked to the front of the class, " we would be having classes at my home, there are rules and regulations. I'm going to state few of them in front of your mate, if you fail to follow the rules another student would replace you"
The girls nodded, and he smiled before proceeding.
"I don't need exposed dresses, be decent and secured. secondly, you'll be returning home early, I might drop you off, so you don't stop by other places. No sexual topics of any kind even harassment and finally, no fighting. Other rules would be listed on our when you start class" he explained, and they nodded in understanding before he asks them back to their desk. He walked out of the class, leaving the students murmuring and shouting both in excitement and anger. Mercury could hear Chloe screaming happily with her friends.
"I guess you will do well with Chloe" Jupiter said to Mercury who sat quietly in deep thought.
"The rules are simple, and I can cope with it" she answered and looked at Jupiter "do you think he'll like me?"
"He should, you're a perfect cute girl" Jupiter answered with a smile.
"What if he ends up loving Chloe?" She asked.
"No one like a noisy and indecent woman. You're prettier than Chloe, more intelligent, you're smarter" Adam said to her "I'll go for you a hundred time if I'm to choose who to be with".
"Thanks so much" Mercury smiled at them.
"Forget about Chloe, be yourself and get that man. If she comes in between, show her the inner beast" Jupiter grinned
"I should show her my wolf?"she asked immediately and Jupiters eye widen before she began laughing,
"That's not what I meant when I said your inner beast, I meant your angry side, the bad aside of you. Fight her, conquer, overcome and take what you want" Jupiter explained.
"We are not born to give up" Mercury recited the words and Jupiter joined her "we are born to win, conquer and overcome. We aren't weakling but the strongest of all, so we are winners".
Adam stared at the two girls as they recited the words with smiles on their face, it was a magical moment to him.
"Our father thought us that" Jupiter smiled at him
"It's beautiful" he answered and kissed Jupiter's lips and Mercury rolled her eyes, looking away.
The drive to Mr Kenny's house with his car was a boring one, Mercury and Chloe sat at the edge of the car, leaning close to the door and avoiding their skin from making contacts like each other were a virus. Mr Kenny sat at the drivers Sit, controlling the car, he was quiet, and Mercury could only imagine if he was this boring outside school, the smiles on his face were gone and plastered with a slightly frown.
Chloe had tried bringing up a conversation, but he said little and brush off the other topics. Mercury hadn't tried to speak, she is scared he would ignore her too, but then she knew she had to give a try.
She inhaled and exhaled slowly and leaned forward as she thought of what to say first.
"Don't you like music?" She asked with a slight smile and he peeped back at her and she could see the smile he returned, and her heart leaped happily.
"I certainly do love music" he answered, and she smiled at her victory.
"Why not play something, it's boring and quiet. I guess we still have a long way"she said to him
"What would you love to listen to?" He beamed at her and she could hear her belly dancing in excitement, the sound of his voice was so amazing in her ears and she wished she could hear them more often.
"I love blues and hip-hop" she answered "what about you?"
"I love both, including reggae's. So, which of the musicians is your favorite?" he Asked, and she was happy he had gotten into a conversation with her, she couldn't ask for more.
"I'm so into Celine Dion but I love Rihanna and Beyonce. Their songs give me goosebumps and give me this good vibe" she answered, and he laughed. Then he punched some buttons.
"Lucky you, I have a million and hundred of Celine Don's music" he replied as a music began playing and she could hear the voice of her favorite artist, ringing in her ear and she could see him moving to the rhythm, she joined him, moving her head back and front in-between laughter. She couldn't hide her excitement.
"Thank you" she whispered, leaning backwards as she began to lip sing, she turned to meet a death glare from Chloe, but she felt unaffected and looked out of the window with a smile of victory.
"Mr Kenny?" Mercury heard Chloe call seductively and she found it so irritating and she glanced at them.
"Yes Chloe" he answered as she looked at her through the front mirror.
"I actually love reggae and I'll love to listen to some instead of this boring music" she smiled as she bit her lips at him, Mercury noticed he looked at Chloe from the front mirror and moved his eyes, then contacted Mercury and she looked away, obviously angry about Chloe indecent remark about the song.
"I would choose blues over reggae, so blues stay and by the way, Mercury asked before you did" he replied with a calm voice.
Mercury could easily figure out what Chloe was up to, Chloe didn't even have a thing for reggae, she was trying to gain Mr. Kenny's attention which didn't work out, Mercury smiled inwardly as Chloe plan failed woefully.
Soon the car arrived at a big mansion, not so big as the castle but the same to Jupiter's apartment. It was beautifully decorated, the fresh air raced through her nose as she looked around the beautiful flowers in the flower vase. Mr. Kenny got down and opened the door at Chloe's side and she stepped down with a smile as Mercury got down after her.
"Welcome to my home" he whispered to no one as he led the way "we would be having classes in my library"
The girls nodded and walked behind him as he pushed the big door open, inside the apartment was even more beautiful, it was flooded with bright lights of different colors, the walls were painted perfectly as it matched his personality.
"You have a beautiful home" Mercury said with a smile as she looked around.
"I'll certainly choose this house over mine" Chloe grinned as she walked closer to him.
"You will?" He asked in surprise and she nodded.
"why?"
"Because it's way more beautiful than my house and it's classy" she answered trying so hard to impress him and he turned towards Mercury who was feeding her eyes with the things around her.
"Would you leave your home for mine?" He asked, and she looked up at him.
"No doubt, you have a very lovely and attractive place, High class actually. But I can't choose here over my home"she answered, wondering why he asked but then he threw another question.
"Why won't you leave your house?"
"I call it home mostly and I have one home, I'm familiar with it, it welcomed me when I'm back from anywhere, I have a wonderful family at my home and being around them gives me great joy. The feeling is different here, this apartment doesn't recognize me, we are both strangers and it feels cold in here, unlike my home that makes me feel warm and comfortable, I can move freely at home" she narrated and threw a weak smile at him.
He looked at her in astonishment and amazement, she was too wise and smart. He was dumbfounded by everything she said and then he slowly returns her smile.
"Let me lead you to the library" he said but Mercury coughed slightly.
"I'll like to use the rest room please" she said to him and he nodded and pointed at a side in the room, she hurried towards there and walked through the dark corridor, it was long and narrow. She walked further as the reflection of the light faded, the place began feeling creepy and she could feel the goosebumps, her instinct began telling her there was something about this place, she took out her phone and turned on the flash light and she could swear she saw a shadow run into the dark from different directions.
She paused for a while and turned the light around but found nothing, she readied herself in case anything happened because the wolf in her was getting so uncomfortable, her heart was racing, she continued walking slowly, she could hear one of the door creak open she turned towards it but immediately it went shut, she shivered violently as she heard footsteps on the roof, her heart beat harder, she wanted to scream but it wasn't a good idea. She turned around and started running to the lights, she could hear the breath of something behind her, it wasn't the normal heart beat of a human or wolf, it was totally different, she could feel the thing behind her wasn't just one, she could feel some above her, she ran faster not looking back and suddenly she was grabbed and pulled into a particular toilet and she tried to scream but her mouth was shut immediately as her phone fell to the floor.
Then light suddenly came up at that toilet and she could hear the footsteps retreating, she turned slowly to see what held her and she could see his worried face as she shivered in his arms and he slowly let her go.
"Was that real?" She whispered as a tear ran down her cheeks, but he said nothing, he dried her tears gently with his palms and immediately opened the door and she hugged him tightly in fear.
"She isn't food!" She heard him whisper in a commanding voice and the shadows retreated into the dark and he held her close as he led her out of the rest room back to the large hall.
Chloe was sitting on one of the sofas with a frown, she watched them walk closer and then Mr Kenny placed Mercury on another sofa, picked up towel and covered the shivering girl who looked so pale.
Chloe wondered what had happened, Mercury had gone into the toilet and she had decided to try her first move on Kenny, she walked seductively to him with a wide smile and a rolling tongue, he had watched her come close and even let her touch him.
"I made my rules clear before you came here" he said and slowly brush her hands away.
"I and Mercury both have the same agenda, it's obvious" she licked her lips and squat in-between his legs.
"What agenda?" He asked acting like he didn't understand what she was saying.
"Come on. We both wanna claim you as ours. I and Mercury are rivals and enemies, so it's like a fight to win".
"How are you sure she has the same purpose as you?" He questioned.
