Chapter 8

"Jupiter is human because she was adopted. so, you understand that she isn't a wolf, just a human who grew up in the midst of wolves and she was trained by her adopted parents who are the royal family" she explained, and Seth nodded in understanding.
"What about you?" he asked.
"What about me?" she asked staring at him.
"I'm curious" he replied.
"I can't trust you, you shouldn't know about me nor Jupiter or the wolves. I don't trust humans" Olivia answered
"Okay, I'm sorry if I asked too much questions. I had always loved supernatural beings and things". He said and turned to stare at his book, she glanced at him quietly, battling with her thoughts.
"I don't know if Jupiter would love the idea of talking to you about us" Olivia said
"Then you shouldn't "he answered "I guess you won't like to upset her, she's your friend"
"She's my princess and I'm her bodyguard, maid and driver. I am acting like a best friend which I am gradually becoming" she smiled slightly.
"You're here to protect her?" he turned back at her and his eyes widen in surprise,
"Yes, but she insisted that I study too" she smiled in response,
"So, you were trained to protect her?"
"My parents worked for the royal family as personal guards and their children have to take over them, so we are trained at a certain age to protect the royal family after our parents" Olivia explained.
"We?" he asked, "are there more guards in disguise in this school?" he asked, and she laughed at his ignorance
"No, they aren't here and when I said we, it's just I and my siblings" He nodded and then joined her to laugh at himself, he tried to register all the information he had gotten, it was an interesting story, they were certainly interesting people.
"Was Princess Venus buried?" he asked,
"She's alive and healthy" she answered with a smile,
"I watch her die, my father shot at her with his gun. I was present "he said in disbelief.
"Yes, miracles do happen in the land of the wolves" she smiled even when she didn't know how Princess Venus survived the gun shot.
"So, if wolves exist, then witches, vampires, fairies, mermaids and other mystical creatures are real" he asked with a smile as he was eager to learn more.
"We were told that witches and wizards went into extinction, as their whole lands were wiped out by an unknown power and the vampires aren't our good friends, we lost connection with them and now we know nothing about them. I haven't read about the fairies though".
"Thank you so much, this is the best lecture I've ever gotten" he teased and they both laughed, and then continued discussing about other things.
"So, you live with your parents?" she asked.
"I left my father the same day I left that forest. He never came to look for me" Seth answered, "I've been living with Adam since then".
"Your father escaped from the forest, but the others were captured by the guards" she explained, and he nodded with a slight smile, but she could see traces of sadness on his face.
"My father isn't a good man" he blurted "I always wish mom was alive".
"I'm sorry" she frowned "my both parents died, and I had to cope with it" she tried comforting and encouraging him, she patted him on his shoulder.
Suddenly Miss Sylvia got into the class and ignored the greetings of the students; they all stood waiting for her to grant them the permission to sit.
"The principal needs you both in his office now" she pointed at Olivia and Seth and Seth nodded but Olivia rolled her eyes.
Just then the school bell rang loudly, and the students screamed happily and hurried out of the class and ignoring the teacher. Olivia and Seth joined them as they moved out with the intension of going to the principal's office. As they got out of the door, they bumped into Jupiter and Adam who were talking and laughing.
"Hey!" Jupiter called smiling as she saw them, and they walked closer to each other.
"You both are flowing well, I see" Olivia grinned
"I should say the same to you both" Jupiter laughed as she glanced at Seth who was talking to Adam
"Heading to the canteen?" Olivia asked Adam and Jupiter and they both turned to each other and laughed
"We were summoned to the principal's office for committing a crime that I don't know" she replied, and Olivia drew them closer. "
"Miss Sylvia?" she asked with a smile and Jupiter nodded and they all laughed and continued walking as the other students gave way for them, some stopped to stare at them as they two cutest prefects walked side by side with the two new and rare girls. They became the center of attraction and attention as they matched to the principal's office.
Adam knocked on the door and he could hear the principal invite them in, he pushed the door open and got in to meet Miss Sylvia and the principal who was sitting and waiting for them
"Let me sincerely apologize for the bad behavior of the teacher, my princess" the principal stood up and bowered at Jupiter and both Olivia and Jupiter coughed simultaneously, and the man quickly straighten up after getting the death glare from the girls.
All the people present in the office stood speechless and confused.
"Did you just call her princess?" Miss Sylvia asked in disbelief,
"You just apologized instead of penalizing her?" Adam eye widen,
"Wait! You know about her?" Seth questioned, and the other people fell silent, not knowing where to start explaining and solving the situation
"Mr. Fredrick?" Miss Sylvia called,
The room was quiet as everyone stared at Mr. Fredrick, they all had different things in mind and were expecting a response from the principal, Olivia and Jupiter faced each other trying to create a lie.
"I've been doing too much of royal movies lately" The principal said "I meant to apologize to you Miss Sylvia"
"Does that explain anything?" Miss Sylvia asked.
"My daughter has been forcing me to act the king and princess play with her all day and I end up calling a lot of people, 'my princess'" He explained spitting out the lies he could create.
"That's by the way, I'll handle the students from here, go back to the staff room" The woman looked at them suspiciously before walking out of the office, the principal heaved in relieve as he succeeded to cover up the issue.
Then he turned to Adam who was waiting for an answer.
"You can leave too Adam, Jupiter would be penalized" Mr. Fredrick said but Adam shook his head negatively
"I and Jupiter were in this together, why are you penalizing only her?" he asked in a state of confusion. The principal stood confused about how he was going to solve the problem, he looked at Jupiter and Olivia and they looked away, he sighed and looked back at Adam.
"Adam I'll meet you in class, I was the main culprit her" Jupiter spoke to him.
"And you think I'll believe you guys like Miss Sylvia did?" he asked looking at each of them and finally looked at Seth, and then he pointed at him with a slight frown. "You asked a question, if the principal knows about Jupiter. What is it about Jupiter?"
"It was a mistake" Seth defended immediately and avoided Adam's eyes.
"So many mistakes in just few minutes" Adam said.
"Mr. Fredrick calls her princess and apologized, and you asked if he knew about her. What are you all hiding?" "Adam go back to the class or you'll be relieved from your position as a prefect and undergo a suspension" The principal ordered angrily.
"Jupiter?" Adam called ignoring the principal's threat, but she glances at him with no words and Adam nodded before walking away. And then everyone faced Seth.
"He knows?" The principal asked giving Seth stern glare.
"He is the boy I met at the boundary, I guess my dad told you about the incident" Jupiter answered
"Seth? At the boundary?" Mr. Fredrick asked and they all nodded.
"You're a wolf too?" Seth asked the principal and he nodded slightly before taking his seat, Seth smiled at himself. "We have more werewolves around here?"
"NO! And you mustn't go around telling anyone about this" Jupiter pointed at him
"I trust him" Olivia turned to Jupiter
"You do?" Jupiter asked in disbelief as she looked from Olivia to Seth who was grinning and then back to Olivia.
"When he saw you at the boundary with Venus wolf, did he got out telling people? He can't even tell his best friend so he's worth the trust" Olivia defended him.
"That doesn't mean I can trust him, he left me there, he didn't care if I died", Jupiter said angrily, finally pouring out her anger "his father is a bad man".
"You're blaming him for his father's wickedness, they aren't the same person" Olivia said.
"They share the same blood, they are capable of doing the same thing" Jupiter said.
"Is there any specific reason for the fake hatred?" Seth asked, "Because it's obvious you do not really hate me, just trying to force it".
"There's a difference between trust and hate", Jupiter answered, "I don't hate you and I don't trust you either"
"Because he killed Venus?" Seth frowned, and Jupiter was quiet for a while and then raised her chin
"He killed her, you saw it" Jupiter said "but I'm happy she lived again. I don't know how my family would have coped without her".
"I am sorry about what my father did, I left home after that day, I ran away from him. I don't want to be my father, I want to be me, and this is me" he replied with a deep frown and an unhappy expression and slumped to the chair with his hands covering his face.
Olivia looked at Jupiter with an emotionless eye before walking to Seth and she sat beside him patting his back.
"Everyone believes I'm my father, they call me his father's son. They think I'm a bad person like my father. I watch my mom die, I watch him kill her when I was eight. Those gruesome memories flash through my mind, do you understand the pain?" he asked standing up and walking towards Jupiter "I wish you could ever trust me" he said and moved for the door before walking out of the office.
"That was bad Jupiter" Olivia said and glanced at the principal.
"Great mistake, great one and even great lie. It's just our first day in school and you've blown everything up, how are we going to cope with that for a whole year? I guess the entire school would hear about this before the year ends"
