Chapter 25

"I am okay, what about you?" she asked.
"your face is swollen and pinky, your eyes are red" he said as he ran his hands through her cheeks, mercury leaned closer to his tender hand as she could see the compassion in his eyes.
"I was crying because I thought they hurt you, but I am totally fine. How are you?" she asked again,
"I am fine, but my head hurts a bit" he answered with a frown.
"I'm sorry" she apologized, and he smiled before looking at others, he could see Jupiter at the back, far away from the others and he realized she was avoiding him.
"I should apologize. I am sorry I overreacted, and I attacked Jupiter, I couldn't control myself" he said and then walked towards Jupiter who didn't move away "I am deeply sorry. I have a reason why I reacted aggressively, but I apologize for trying to hurt you".
"I'm fine, thank you" Jupiter whispered with a weak smile and he nodded.
"so, explain, give us your reasons" Laura said to him,
"Jupiter is his tool, his only remaining tool to take over everything under the sun" he began explaining himself "it was said that she could easily and single handedly destroy every being, so we swore to destroy and kill any of this creation or child".
"so, you are upset that she would work for your king?" Jordan asked.
"I don't have a king. He is not my king, he killed all day walkers that ever existed including his sister" he replied angrily.
"then why are you alive?" Adam questioned.
"I wasn't born a day walker, I am not a royal blood but his sister, princess Kate was my fiancée" he answered, and mercury frowned,
"are you married?" mercury asked curiously, gazing directly at him,
"she was my fiancée, she died on our wedding night" he answered sorrowfully.
"that means you got married?" mercury bit her lips and he nodded "how did she die?"
"during the process of love making, she converted me to a day walker, we sucked from each other's arm which was forbidden by the royals" he explained, and Laura nodded, agreeing to what he said.
"he didn't bite me; he was so careful not to" Queen Laura said,"he didn't want to convert me".
"when he realized his sister would create another day walker apart from the royals, he couldn't take the risk because he knew the other royal family would make more day walkers from the other vampires that would now be equal to him, so he killed all of them, his family" he said, and his voice held pain and anger.
"when did this happen?" Jordan fired another question at him,but he didn't stop answering,
"Thirty-five years ago," he answered and they all frowned confusingly.
"how old are you?" Seth inquired curiously,
"I'm a hundred and thirty-six" he answered and they all gasp at the revelation. Never in their lives had they thought the young teacher was old enough to be their grandfather.
"Jupiter was born nineteen years ago, that was when he came to our coven" Laura frowned "so you hid for thirty-five years, how did you escape?
"when I realized the guards were searching for me, princess Kate hid me in the underground where she kept all her treasures and jewelries, he killed her when he couldn't' find me. I hid there till sunrise, I knew his soldiers wasn't going to come after me under the sun, I flee away, and he never heard of me again" he explained as they listened to him closely.
"so how did you find all this vampire?" Jupiter spoke finally for the first time,
"I walked down the street every night, I found some in the bars on the street, I could easily recognize them as vampires. I knew they were rogues looking for a roof and it was hard for them to adapt in this world, they hid during the day and appeared at night. So, I brought them home as a family" he said to them.
"so, you can't make them day walkers?" mercury asked, and he shook his head negatively.
"I don't trust them enough, I don't want a scenario where they would go down the street every morning and suck people dry" he answered,
"right decision though" he smiled.
"you hate my father and not me, I didn't kill your people" Jupiter said to Kenny, trying so hard to justify herself.
"but it was prophesied that you will even do more deadly and evil things than him" he replied,
"not when the prophecy in our coven said that she would destroy evil, save and redeem humanities" Jordan said.
"I have you all with me and I choose this right part, I promise to be with you all and do the right thing" Jupiter pleaded.
"and I believe her" mercury said as she walked to Jupiter's side,
"let's work together as a team" Olivia said and moved forward to Jupiter,
"you know I would choose you over and over again" Seth grinned as he joined the others and Adam followed behind him.
"for the fact that I love and trust you" he said to Jupiter as they two adults walked to Jupiter and Kenny was left alone, he stood opposite them, confused about the decision to make. He had never really had a team, not even imagining a team without fear then this were the best people to be with.
He slowly created a smile and walked closer to them and mercury face lit up as he walked forward but then he walked directly to her and held her hands when she was close.
"did I tell you how beautiful you are?" he asked, and she shook her head negatively.
"no, you avoided me most times. We barely spoke" she answered, and he laughed as the others stared at him confusingly and curiously.
"I'm a teacher and I didn't want it to look obvious "he replied.
"the fact that I'm drawn to this attractive student" he answered,and she gasped "most times I can't take my eyes off you, so I avoided you",
"this hundred and thirty-six-year-old man finally found love for the second time after thirty-five years" he smiled at her "I'm not going to risk it; I won't lose you",
"so, you like me?" she asked suddenly in tears and he grinned at her.
"I don't think I can stop the feelings of love I have for you and yes I certainly do love you so much" he replied, and mercury hugged him immediately.
"what's happening here?" they heard another feminine voice and they all turned towards the direction of the voice and Chloe stood there staring at the two people hugging and the others watching. Kenny speed towards her with a chair, and Jupiter followed as she created a rope and tied her to the chair. Chloe struggled violently as she was so angry at what she saw.
"how long has she been unconscious?" Kenny asked in surprise as he speed back to mercury's side
"long enough" she grinned.
"you really knocked her out" Kenny laughed and bent slowly, kissing her lips unexpectedly and her eyes widen, and she blushed shyly, and he laughed slightly, looking away "let's not go to fast".
"Chloe would die of jealously and anger" Seth laughed as he watched Chloe struggling on the chair.
"not when I erase her memory totally" Kenny laughed and they all join him "how did you fix the bulb?"
"Jupiter and Adam made us invisible and we moved in through the portal. They couldn't see or sense us" Seth replied smiling.
"you are all incredible" he said to them as he brought mercury closer to himself and kissed her forehead.
"I am in love with an old man" mercury teased, and they laughed loudly.
"I am not even old, there are some vampires who are up to five hundred years" he answered, and their eyes widen,
"I always wished I'm a vampire" Seth smiled "I will learn moreabout them from you",
"Seth is so addicted to supernatural beings, he reads a lot about them, mostly vampires" Olivia said to Kenny who was new with them.
"well I could make you become one" he said casually with a smile,
"what?" they all exclaimed at once and Seth was speechless,
"if you are ready to take a bite then I will be ready to make you a day walker. I guess you don't want to be the only human among your friends" Kenny said to the frozen Seth.
"what is happening here" Chloe shouted louder in panic as she heard their topic and the strange things they said.
"shut up!" Jupiter ordered and threw a spell on her, and immediately her mouth was gagged as words couldn't come out.
"so?" Kenny asked Seth and he looked at the others, but they weren't saying anything,
"I need to think about it. I will tell you when I am ready" he answered with a weak smile,
"time to go home" Laura said to them,
"let's erase her memory" Kenny said, and Jupiter moved Chloe who was struggling aggressively, she moved her closer to them "investigate her mind,"
"and how would I do that? I can't or maybe I don't know how" Jupiter frowned,
"then look into her eyes" he said, and Jupiter nodded, concentrating and trying to penetrate Chloe's eyes but Chloe was shaking and then she shut her eyes, Jupiter groaned angrily in frustration, she immediately chanted a spell.
"from the moment you were knocked out till now" Jupiter whispered and moved round Chloe, repeating the magical words over and over. "erase" she commanded, and Chloe immediately became limb. Jupiter loosened the ropes around her,
"we should leave before she gets up" Adam said, and Laura immediately created a portal and they all hurried into the portal leaving mercury, Kenny and Chloe.
"my head hurts badly" they heard Chloe say and they turned towards her with a smile,
"mercury mentioned that you fell and hit your head in the library and we brought you here for some air" Kenny answered without batting an eye,
"did I?" she asked in thought, trying to think but her head was blank "that's strange,"
"what's strange?" mercury asked her,
"I don't recall falling and the last thing I can think of was the argument we had" Chloe frowned.
"maybe the fall caused a little brain malfunction" mercury smiled at her and then something came into Chloe mind.
"she tried to leave the library, she wanted going after you and we had a little argument and she asked me to take a nap and that is all I remember" she said directly to Kenny.
"well, maybe I hit you so hard when you asked me to make you sleep" mercury smirked and rolled her eyes, Chloe jumped from the chair to attack but Kenny immediately stood in between the two and Chloe retreated as she groaned angrily but mercury laughed at her.
"let me take you both home" he said and walked out, the two girls joined him inside the car and then mercury leaned forward to whisper to him.
"tell your friends about the new changes" she said, and he smiled, nodding in understanding as the car zoom off.
Jupiter found herself in the middle of the woods, it was quiet except for the sounds of the vultures around her. The woods were dry like it had withered away, and the pine trees were long, she couldn't see any other thing except woods and when she looked up above her, she could see the birds and the dark clouds that seems like they were upset with the land. She couldn't stay here, she had to find a way out.
She walked further, searching for a route but found none, she was all alone, she stopped immediately and began creating a portal and when it opened she found her house and her body lying on the bed, she quickly stepped in, but she was blinded by a light and when she opened her eyes, she found herself in the woods again. She was surprised as she frowned in confusion and tried opening the portal again, it worked and when she tried to step in the same thing happened repeatedly, she tried different locations and it wasn't working.
She knew this was a dream, one of those her weird dreams that makes her struggled and search or even fight before she could wake up. She knew shouting won't change anything as she had been in this position before. She had to find a way.
Jupiter began creating a portal, this time imagining the same coven Jordan had opened on the first day he taught her how to open a portal. It appeared before her, she investigated the dark environment, it was creepy as usual, sending goosebumps, fear and shiver down her spine. She composed herself, trying not to be scared and then she stepped in, surprisingly she didn't returnto the woods and she smiled. This was were her nightmares wanted her to be, she hadn't realized that earlier. She looked around her but it was silent and looked like it lacked living beings but there were noisy creatures like the cricket and frog.
Jupiter walked forward as her eyes moved around, looking at the camps and the houses, there were even caves. There were even trees, trees of different sizes and shapes, her eyes caught something and she looked closely to the tree, it had the skulls of person and that of animals, they were hung on each tree and she shivered in fear, when she looked closely to the floor, she saw bodies of people who were obviously dead, some had rot and the vultures had used them as meal. In a twinkle of an eye, the cloud suddenly turned red, red as blood and Jupiter shut her eyes in fear.
"little princess" she heard a voice call and she looked up immediately as she hadn't noticed the presence of someone earlier. She looked at the man, his face was familiar, but she couldn't point out who he was, but he had a striking resemblance with someone she knew, and that person was herself. She frowned and slowly got up then moved backwards when he straight his hands towards her.
