Chapter 38

"oh, she's your daughter" Kenny said referring to the mermaid queen and she nodded with a smile and then walked forward to the girls and opened her mouth and screamed then strong waved knocked the girls, separating them from each other and they collapsed to different sides and the other stared in amazement at what they had just seen, her abilities were incredible. With just a scream the two stubborn teenagers had separated to different directions.
Jupiter and Dinah struggled upwards and their eyes still on each other, they were both upset and it was obvious but then Jupiter looked away and turned to the mermaid queen.
"I am sorry, mermaid queen" Jupiter apologized to the woman who had been glaring at them
"I am sorry mom" Dinah bowed with a knee brought down
"you choose to be stubborn? You disobeyed me" the woman said
"she wouldn't let go mom" Dinah defended herself with a frown
"she's a visitor for goodness sake! A daughter of my old friend" queen Alexa said to her daughter
"a person that killed our guardians? She can't possibly be called a friend" Dinah argued
"it was a misunderstanding; another guardian can be replaced. We should welcome and entertain them"
"I can welcome and entertain any other person but not her" Dinah said as she pointed at Jupiter in anger and rose up then walked out of the palace. Queen Alexa sighed inwardly and turned to the mermaids who had been watching everything all along
"this are visitors and friends; they mean no harm. You can all go now" she said to them and they murmured and whispered among themselves as they swam away to different directions. Then the queen turned to her visitors. "let's go to the dinning"
They followed her behind as the three queen talked and discussion among themselves. Jupiter walked beside Adam who supported her because of her broken knee, mercury gave Kenny the details of what happened earlier between Jupiter and the guardians, the others spoke about how beautiful the place was as they smiled in excitement
"women always have a lot to say" king desmond said
"and they easily forget the male, now we look left out" Jordanlaughed as they both discussed about the queen who had other things to say.
They met Dinah at the dining table but she ignored them like they weren't there. They were even more focused on the dishes arranged beautiful on the table, the dinning wasn't filled with water, it was dry, they walked in and took different positions and the queen sat on the royal chair that was designed differently from the others.
"there are lot of dishes. Do well to choose what you want and enjoy yourselves to the brim" queen Alexa said with a proud smile as they began to unveil the covered plates. The mermaid queen turned to look at Dinah who hadn't said anything or touched her food, she bent and whispered to girl "be open to them please, you won't want them counting you as a bad person"
"I dislike her, mom" she whispered back with a frown and glanced at Jupiter with a bad eye.
"it's just a minor misunderstanding and I wish you could understand that" queen Alexa smiled weakly at her daughter "you're the more matured one"
"I'm older than her?" Dinah asked in curiosity
"I told you a story of my very good friend, the witch queen. I told you she got pregnant for a baby after she met you. You are a year older than Jupiter" the mermaid queen said
"that doesn't change anything" Dinah rolled her eyes as she sent Jupiter a death glare and unfortunately Jupiter had just glanced at her and she looked away "why is she staring at me?"
"you're just complaining a lot. Give her a try, begin a new start" the queen smiled and the girl nodded slightly with different thought in mind as she noticed the wolf queen and witch queen were discussing with Jupiter who was in their middle.
"you and Dinah can become great friends. She's a wonderful child" queen Laura said to Jupiter
"maybe that was when she was a baby but right now, she's annoying and a pain in the ass" Jupiter answered angrily
"oh Jupiter, you're not this heartless" queen irine said with a sad face
"she brought out that side of me and I'll show her how it works" Jupiter rolled her eyes
"you both met at a wrong time, maybe you could start afresh" queen Laura replied
"mom, can we not talk about this? Please" Jupiter pleaded and concentrated on her food, devouring the delicious meal
Queen irine and Laura glanced at each other and sighed as they turned back to their food, the others were talking and laughing as it was obvious they were enjoying themselves and having fun. Dinah frowned her face and was upset about everything, she was uncomfortable then she got up and walked out of the dinning and headed behind, they all glanced at her curiously.
"she's not so used to crowd. She's the only child and she stays alone" queen Alexa tried to defend her daughter.
"she doesn't have friends?" Jupiter smirked asking in a mocking tone and the mermaid queen nodded
"she only has a friend and he's her boyfriend. He's the only one she stays with" the queen replied sadly and they could see the pain in her eyes "I've spoken to her over and over but she has bluntly refused to have friends, she doesn't stay with her peers. It's a boring life but she doesn't take it as one"
"I guess she would be fine soon. She's a smart kid" mars answered and he got up, excusing the others and they watch him walk towards were she had left and they glanced at each other with different thoughts.
"what's he up to?" Jordan questioned in disbelief
"maybe if someone can talk to her out of that life then I would really appreciate that" queen Alexa said with a weak smile.
"what if my brother actually likes her" mercury grinned at Kenny and Jupiter overheard it and she sent mercury a death glare and mercury rolled her eyes with a smile.
"we just got to know that she has a boyfriend already" Kenny answered mercury and she smirked
"a boyfriend and not a husband" she defended "they aren't married yet"
"so what about us? Won't you want this relationship to lead to somewhere?" Kenny asked and she looked up at him in surprise
"of course I want us to get married someday" mercury answered with a slight frown
"then wish the same for her" Kenny smiled and kissed her lips and she returned the smile with a nod and turned to peep at the direction mars had gone to.
Mars walked further, he had no idea where he was heading to but he could smell her, so he followed her scent and then he found her sitting on a bench, looking out to the water and he could see other little fishes following the matured ones.
"a wonderful view out here" he said as he sat beside her and she jerked in fear, she frowned as she hadn't noticed him coming "in deep thought, thinking about?"
"doesn't it bother you?" she eyes him and looked back to the water and he smiled at her words
"I'm sorry if we upset you or maybe my sister got you pissed" he apologized
"are you here to talk about your sister? Then I would advise you to go away, I am not ready" Dinah sent him a sharp glare and he nodded
"sorry, I didn't mean to upset you" mars answered "I won't love to be annoying as my sister"
"I said I don't want to hear about that bitch" Dinah shouted angrily as she rose up and began walking away but he pulled her hands, dragging her back to him and she gasped in surprise "how dare you? Who do you think you are?"
"the crowned prince of the wolf kingdom and the heir apparent to the throne" he grinned at her
"proud asshole" she said angry and immediately try to pull her hands but he held her tightly
"maybe you should fight me this time" he rolled his eyes and she groaned in anger.
"let me go now" she roared angrily and he only smirked at her "if you need a fight, I'll give you a good one"
"can you try and be a woman for once and not a fighter" mars said and she frowned in disbelief at his words
"don't I look like a woman?" she flared up but he only smiled
"women don't think about fight every time, a woman should consider her body like my sister Venus" mars smiled "she's really a fashion freak"
"well not the other annoying girl" Dinah rolled her eyes and he laughed
"Jupiter's fashion life isn't bad either but she cares less" mars defended his sister and reminded her "I thought you didn't want to talk about Jupiter"
"that's right, it slipped my mind" she answered and glanced at her hands that the young prince was holding and he noticed she was staring.
"can you just sit with me? I won't take your time, please" mars pleaded and she stared at him with no emotions "please Dinah"
She stared at him and took her time to study the handsome man in front of her, she hadn't really checked him out early, she swallowed and sat down as he joins beside her.
"I'm sorry about how annoying I am" mars began and she nodded slowly
"I am sorry for being a bit rude and harsh on you" she apologized and he smiled
"don't worry, I understand that feeling of being in an uncomfortable position. I noticed that at the dinning" mars explained
"you do?" she asked surprising with a widen eye and he nodded affirmatively "I always watched someone who could understand me"
"well, I might not totally understand you but I know someone who had the same issues as you do" mars grinned
"who?" she questioned without hesitation and he laughed
"someone don't know and you won't like to" he answered and she frowned, folding her arms across each other but he ignored her and continued with a smile "this person stayed alone because she couldn't fit in, she was totally different from everyone and everyone didn't want her around either. The only difference between you both is that she wanted love and attention from other people but didn't get it except from her family but you here, you have the attention and love of your mother and I'm sure people like you too but you just need to give in"
"I am scared that I might not fit in? did they person manage to overcome?" Dinah asked with a sad face
"yes, she did. But it took a while, she had to explore, away from her family to a win world and she met friends, she met wonderful people who became part of her life" mars replied with a genuine smile
"is she your friend? I would really love to see her. Maybe she could tell me more about her experience" Dinah said eagerly but from the expression he gave her she felt something off.
"I can't tell you who she is" he said to her
"why?" she questioned "maybe I could explore the world but I have to know who she is, she must be a brave and wonderful person"
"you said I shouldn't mention her name around you, I guess you should understand" mars said with a slight frown.
"you are talking about your sister? Jupiter?" Dinah frowned in confusion and mars nodded, she shook her head in disbelief, why hadn't she guessed earlier. She turned sharply away from him and faced the blank space, staring at nothing.
"she's not going to chew you, you just need to know her. She is an amazing person" mars tried to calm her down and she looked up at him slowly.
"tell me more about her" she said and his eyes widen in disbelief, he didn't hesistate to start giving her every details about Jupiter and how she was born and about all her friends who were at the dinning with her. Dinah found it hard to believe that she actually enjoyed every story about Jupiter, she was really a brave person, her bravery was outstanding and the power she possessed were incredible. No wonder she was able to stand her even in her own kingdom, no one had ever battle with her and remained the same but jupiter's story was different.
