Chapter 40

"are you okay?" Venus asked as she knelled closer to him
"I feel so tired; my head is aching" he murmured as he shut his eyes in pain
"he must rest and when he's up we would go back to our home. But before then we would talk about why we came" king Desmond said and the all nodded as Seth and Adam helped him up and followed the mermaid queen who led them down the different rooms and they passed through Dinah's room and pushed the next door open and took him to the bed and lay him there.
"he should be alone, he shouldn't be crowded" the mermaid queen smiled at the others and they walked out of the room, leaving him alone.
"so about the reason we are here" queen Laura said to the mermaid as they walked back to the throne room. "there's a war"
"in your witch kingdom?" the mermaid queen asked
"actually not exactly. The war would affect every kingdom and every person and even humans" Jupiter answered
"what kind of war could that be?" queen Alexa asked with a frown and disbelief "who could be the villain that is ready to bring down all other people?"
"it's her Jupiter's biological father" Selina replied the confused queen
"the vampire king?" the mermaid queen asked with her a widen eye
"yes, he is eager to rule every single being under earth" the alpha answered
"and how would he accomplish that?" queen Alexa laughed as she found it impossible for one man to defeat all other beings.
"he has other supernatural beings walking for him, he has witches, werewolves and his vampires. He might even have mermaids who walk for him" Jupiter said bluntly.
"he has an army already and won't back down. He wants Jupiter to work with him because she would make his mission easier" queen irine added
"we need to stand and work together in order to win this battle" queen Laura said to queen Alexa
"anything that would give me an opportunity to kill the vampire king, I would do it without hesitation and fighting with you would be a great privilege" the mermaid queen smiled
"I am really grateful" queen Laura grinned "then I think my journey to the fairy kingdom starts tomorrow"
"your journey?" Jupiter asked with a frown "you're going alone?"
"oh, I didn't mean that. Our journey to the fairy kingdom begins tomorrow morning" she corrected herself with a smile and the others laughed loudly.
"it's really a nice thing to meet you all, the wolf king and queen" queen Alexa smiled happily "I promise your next visitation would be different. You would be welcomed specially"
"it's amazing, and I am eager to see you at the wolf kingdom" queen irine said happily
"we would give you a perfect pool to relax and flaunt your beautiful tail" king desmond added
"we would love to see your tail" Kenny smile and the boys nodded in agreement
"before you leave, I'll make sure you all see it. Just remind me" she smiled
"hey guys!" mercury called as she walked towards them with Olivia beside her, the others looked at them curiously
"how is she?" queen Alexa asked them
"still moody but she wasn't so rude to us like she was with Jupiter" Olivia answered and walked to Seth's side.
"then I guess her main issue is with Jupiter and no one else" queen Laura answered
"who cares?" Jupiter rolled her eyes and looked away
"I noticed you took mars to the next room, I scented him in the other room" mercury said
"yes we did, he needed to rest" Venus replied
"is he okay now?" mercury asked curiously
"yes, we managed to take out the poison but he feels tired and needs rest" Jupiter replied
"well, we gave her some hint" Olivia smirked
"who?" Adam asked
"Dinah" mercury grinned "we told her he was in the next room in case she wanted seeing him"
"what was her respond?" Kenny questioned but the girls stared at each other
"she didn't reply" Olivia said as she bit her lips and Jupiter gave a little snort and rolled her eyes
"well, that's bad" queen irine said "we should leave them to rest"
"you kids go have fun, while I take your parent's around" queen Alexa smiled as she dragged the adults with her and the teenagers found themselves running around to search for beautiful places.
Dinah pushed the door open and peeped around, she found no body and she crept out of the room and headed for the next room silently and sniffing as she dried her tears. She stopped in front of the next door and pushed it open as she searched inside if he was truly inside and she saw him on the bed, lying motionlessly. She stepped into the room and walked closer to him, she leaned closer to examine the face of the sleeping man, he looked even more handsome as he slept, she brought out her hands, eager to touch his face but she didn't hesitate, she moved her hands round his face and suddenly his eyes fluttered open and she shirk in fear as she staggered backward with a frown.
"what were you trying to do?" he said in a commanding voice
"I am sorry, I thought you were asleep" she muttered as she watched him struggle up, still staring at her
"no one touches me and go away with it" he flared up and she could see the anger in his eyes, she hadn't thought of this earlier, she hadn't thought of his reactions if he got up and now she was in a serious problem
"I am sorry mars" she apologized but he shook his head and walked closer and immediately grabbed her neck and she swallowed the scream that tried to push its way out. She could see his canines appearing and she shut her eyes in fear.
Her body shivered in his arms and her eyes shut tightly. He stared at her and was marveled at the way she was so scared of him. He was sure she could fight him without delay but she was scared of him.
"Dinah?" he called but she shook her head negatively with her eyes closed and a tear struggled out of it. "I am not going to hurt you, look at me"
"no!" she cried as she continued sobbing and she brought her closer, and hugged her in his arms.
"I was joking, it was a prank" he said as he felt he had gone too far, he hadn't expected her to get scared and when he said that she opened her eyes slowly and he ran his hands through her hair
"it was a prank?" she asked as he nodded and she noticed his fangs had disappeared
"I am sorry I went too far" mars apologized and she nodded with a quick smile. And she dragged him towards the bed.
"how do you feel? I was surprised you got healed" she said in confusion, blinking her eyes simultaneously
"they did the magic, your mom and the witch queen with Jupiter" he answered smiling proudly
"Jupiter?" she asked in disbelief and mars nodded
"she's a witch, don't forget. And how did you know I was in that room?" he questioned
"well, mercury and Olivia gave me a hint" she answered blushing slightly
"oh, they came to you?"
"yes they did but I wasn't really in the mood to talk. I was worried" Dinah answered
"was Jupiter with you too?" he smiled but she became quiet and looked away, biting her lips and he called her "Dinah?"
"she came but I was upset with her and I sent her away" Dinah replied as she buried her head in her palms "I was rude to her, I shouted at her and even blamed her for what happened to you even when she saved my life"
"she saved your life?" he asked as he had no idea of what had happened after he received an arrow in his chest
"micheal sent another shot but she took it in my place. Though it got into her palms but it didn't affect her" Dinah explained still looking away and he moved closer to her
"I understand you, but it's fine. Maybe when you aren't upset at her then you could go talk to her" mars said with a smile and decided to change the conversation "and when you said you like me, did you actually mean it?"
"yes I did mean it" Dinah answered and finally turned to look at him, she could see his smiling face and she smiled back at him
"I like you too" he replied with a grin "maybe I am not the only one having this butterflies in my belly and everything. I think I found my mate"
"oh!" she exclaimed "I had never thought a werewolf would be my mate"
He laughed loudly and took her hands, kissing both of them as he could notice her confused face.
"you feel what I feel too?" he asked happily and she nodded with a little laugh "I thought I'll never find a mate"
"why would you think so?" Dinah frowned at him slightly
"I've waited for so long and I had gone for another woman I liked. We got married, thinking we would realize we are mates. But the marriage broke, she left when she finally saw another man who was her real mate and I was left alone" he answered and she stared at him pathetically
"I am sorry about your past. I had almost gotten engaged to Michael and I never saw this bad side of him" Dinah bit her lips
"I am sure he would get his right punishment soon" mars laughed and she smiled shyly. "you are a beautiful woman"
"am i?" she asked raising her brows and he nodded with a broad smile
"the most beautiful woman I've come across. I just feel so bad that I will be leaving sooner" he said "I just wish I could make you a duplicate"
"I have lot of responsibilities here and I can't leave my mom alone to handle all that" she frowned unhappily
"that's why I can't ask you to come with me. But if I had my way, I would always visit you" mars replied and kissed her knuckles
"I will miss you, will you miss me?" she asked and looked away as she was battling with the pain she felt inside
"the moment my eyes doesn't see you, I would miss every bit of you" he answered not intentionally trying to exaggerate but immediately moved forward and gave him a quick kiss and turned away. His eyes widen and he grinned when he realized what she had done. "can I have a real kiss now?"
"you want to kiss me?" she questioned and he rolled his eyes, is that not what he had just asked for. He smirked and nodded
"yes I want you and I to kiss each other" he answered and she leaned closer at him and kissed slowly and he responded as they matched each other's rhythm.
"brother mars?" Jupiter called and pushed the door open and immediately shut it back but they already saw her, she was shocked and confused. Why would they be kissing already, did the mermaid princess do something to her brother.
"Jupiter come in" mars called and she swallowed before pushing the door open to meet the two culprits acting like criminals. But then mars spoke rudely "couldn't you smell our presence"
"I am not a wolf" Jupiter answered almost in a whisper "I should be asking you that question. You should have smiled me coming"
"but I was occupied, I was ....." he stopped when he realized what he was saying
"you were occupied and busy with a girl you just met today, you were busy kissing her.is that what you wanted to say? I am sorry I had to help you complete it" Jupiter rolled her eyes, staring at the mermaid angrily
"you don't dare talk to me like that" mars warned and pointed his hands at her
"how should I speak brother? I thought you need rest, is this rest?" she questioned
