CHAPTER 16
When his mother left, he started scanning the room. It was packed with his photos as if someone had been following him around his entire life. So, she had been keeping an eye on him from afar!
He was relieved to learn that, and his bitterness began to fade. She didn't forget about him, which was the best thing that could have happened to him. It was like a belated birthday gift for him.
She returned to the room with two glasses of orange juice, which she set on the table before joining him.
“How are you doing?” she asked him, her curiosity meter very high.
“I'll tell you everything."
“I'm listening, son,” she said with anticipation.
He never imagined it would be so much fun to narrate his life in that manner; he left out some details that would not be appropriate to tell a parent. It was, after all, his personal life. Throughout the story, his mother cried, laughed, and smiled, and by the end, he was drinking his mother's glass of juice.
“I'm just relieved that you're still alive and well. If something bad happened to you, I would be devastated.”
“I've seen the photos. How did you obtain them?”
“I just paid someone to take a few pictures here and there. I'd be a bad mother if I didn't have pictures of my son as he grew up.”
“You should have informed me. Do you know how much I suffered because of my father's threats? He was always using you, and I had no idea what to do. I would not have found you if it hadn't been for a friend who introduced me to the company.”
“I didn't want you to be concerned about me. I wanted you to live for yourself because I will only drag you down if I am by your side. I want you to have a life that I couldn't provide for you. Your father and new mother can provide you with that, so promise me that you will be a good boy and will not retaliate.”
“It's too late for that now. Violet and I have already made a deal,” he confessed to his mother
“Oh, so what did you decide?” she asked curiously as she knew Violet so well.
“I just need to help her with a few things when she needs it, and your debt will be cleared in exchange,” he lied to her, not wanting her to know that he sold his soul
to the devil.
“I hope it wasn't anything too serious, I don't want you to owe anyone anything.”
“I'm a Dark mother, and I can deal with anything. Why don't you tell me how you got here? I saw you in the hospital dying.”
“It's a complicated story. You could say a miracle occurred.”
“Tell me, Violet didn't say anything to me.”
“That's how she is. One of her specialties is keeping others guessing, but there's always a reason for it. We all found out about it.”
“How?”
“Someone wanted all the details, and in the end, he is now in a mental institution.”
“Did Violet not save him?
“He bore the consequences, and once you make a deal, you can't go back on it,” she told him.
“Wow, that's a little frightening. Are you afraid of living here?”
“There is no reason to be afraid. We are not slaves, but we do have jobs, homes, and families. This is a large island with everything, so we won't be lacking in anything. Is there any reason to be afraid?” she explained to him.
“Is it an island?” he asked.
“Didn't you notice?” she asked back.
“I guess I was too engrossed in my thoughts to notice,” he embarrassedly said as he scratched his nose.
“It's quite large. I'll take you on a tour,” she volunteered.
“Okay, I'll remind you even if you forget. Tell me about what happened back then.”
“I'll begin...”
His mother had left him with his father because she was ill. She was in the final stages of cancer and didn't want to see him suffer as a result. So, she went to the hospital after she left him. It happened one day because the medication couldn't help her in any way.
She was dying, and no matter what the doctors tried, nothing worked. She was certain she died because she was no longer in pain. She was in complete darkness, and it was so cold that she had no idea what to do.
Suddenly, a light beam of light shone upon her, and she saw a woman in white approaching her, and with that, she admitted that she was truly dead.
She was an angel on her way to take her away, but when the angel approached, she gave off an unusual aura. The woman only asked her one question: “Do you want to live?”
She remained silent as she considered the question. She desperately wanted to live; she couldn't bear the thought of leaving him alone with people who didn't know him well.
What if they mistreated him or he became ill? She desperately wanted to live, so she answered the woman, "yes, I'd like to live.”
As a result of her response, she was asked again, "would you agree to anything I say to get your life back?"
“Yes, whatever."
When she awoke, she could hear the doctors panicking because she had answered. She was a miracle; they were about to take her to the morgue when she awoke.
She went on to talk about when she left the hospital after passing the unnecessary hospital stories. She was not going to stay in the hospital because she had been given a fresh start.
She was astounded to meet the angel she saw when she died the day, she left the hospital. How did she manage to do that if she was human? She followed the woman who led her to the Dark's mansion, and while there, she noticed him laughing and playing happily with his siblings, so she left.
She ended up on this island after the woman asked her to do something for her. Her previous job was to look after the mansion, but she ended up finding a new hobby in design.
Because Violet was picky about a lot of things, she eventually accepted the job of designer and dressmaker for her. She was surprised that such a young woman could have so much money and yet not appear to be happy.
