CHAPTER 53
Being in that office was suffocating. She despised men who like to brag and believe that the world revolves around them.
"Give me a call; I've got a flight to catch."
She decided to visit a massage parlor after leaving the company to relieve her fatigue. Her thoughts turned to Dylan as those hands massaged her body. She longed for that child.
She wondered what she saw in him at times; he was nearly the same age as Anne, and yet she couldn't think without him. She had these strange dreams about marrying him, but was he even thinking about it?
He's young and probably doesn't want to be tied down. Even if she marries him, it is unlikely that she will be able to bear him children. This irritated her even further. She returned to her hotel room after her massage, where she ate dinner and fell asleep.
They set up the mansion and prepared everything with the help of the maids. Only Violet remained, and he couldn't wait for her to return. She had called earlier to say she had left, which means she will be home in about three hours.
He had nothing to do now that they had finished preparing everything. He didn't want to study on a day like this, so he devised a way to unwind. He looked around the mansion and found her outside in the garden, where she was playing.
“There you are!”
“Dylan! Are you looking for me?"
"Yes, would you like to go to the park with me?"
"What about the park? Sure, let's go."
"You should go change your clothes. I'll be waiting for you outside."
"OK, I'll be down shortly," she said as she walked away.
He followed her into the house to retrieve his wallet and car keys. He hadn't been to the amusement park in a long time, but with someone there, he wasn't lonely. Leah was the most ecstatic, jumping on every ride and not being afraid at all.
Those roller coasters almost scared him, and the haunted house made him swear he'd never go back there again.
When Leah had had enough of the rides, they went out to eat. Someone called Leah's name while he was eating ice cream. When he turned around, he realized it was Rita.
“Rita!”
"Good day, Dylan. It's strange to see you here."
“Why? Can't I just come here?"
"I didn't mean it that way. I'm just surprised to see you here," she said as she took a seat, “who exactly is she?"
"My daughter," he said, overhearing Leah giggling, "Leah!"
"I'm sorry, Dad, but I saw something interesting. It wasn't intended for you."
"All right, cupcakes," he said as he patted her on the head.
The most satisfying result was the expression on Rita's face. Why did she appear envious? She had no feelings for him.
"I don't have time to talk to you, Rita. I've come to spend some quality time with this lovely young lady. So, please excuse us,” he said as he helped Leah up.
"Wait, Dylan."
"Be quick, we have somewhere we have to be."
"I'm sorry, okay? I was oblivious to the bigger picture because I was stupid. Let's get together again. I ended my relationship with him."
"I don't care if you broke up with him, married him, or no longer love him. Dylan, I'm not in love with you; I'm in love with a beautiful and terrifying woman. And I can't imagine my life without her. You should get checked out and stop wasting another person’s time. Next time, please don't be greedy because, in the end, it's only you who will suffer," he said as he sat Rita down, dazzled and befuddled.
"Dylan, that was really cool."
“Really? She had figured me out."
"I wonder what mother will do to her if she finds out."
"Don't tell her. This is our little-known fact."
"Not for nothing."
"What exactly do you want?"
"I'll tell you!" the young girl said, laughing again.
How could these people understand transactions so well, like mother and daughter?
"Let's head home. Your mother is on her way, and we should beat her to it."
"All right, let's go."
Holding hands, they exited the amusement park and returned to the mansion.

It felt good to be back at home. Violet had sealed the deal in the morning after shocking those avaricious men. They announced that they will not pursue their takeover, allowing her company to save Mike's company by purchasing some significant shares in it.
She had her people buy some shares there as a punishment for those greedy men, and thanks to the drop-in share prices, she had her people buy some shares there as well. It was all business. Both companies had promising futures, and it wouldn't hurt for her to profit from the situation.
After all, she wasn't a saint.
There was something fishy going on at her mansion. She could tell there was a huge conspiracy brewing somewhere based on how everyone was behaving, beginning with her driver.
When she arrived at the mansion, everyone was waiting for her outside, except Dylan, who was nowhere to be found. She was saddened, but she wasn't going to show it for the time being.
Before going to Anne, she embraced her little angel for a long time.
"You look chubby; you've been taking good care of yourself. Excellent work."
“Mother!”
"I missed you even more," she exclaimed, and Leah burst out laughing.
"I'm exhausted and need to rest."
"Don't worry, your tub is already full. Allow me to accompany you to your room.”
"Many thanks, Anne."
She went to her room with the help of Anne, but when she arrived, Anne did not enter, which was suspicious.
"I forgot something, so why don't you go first, and I'll come back once I'm finished?"
"All right, go ahead," she said as she watched Anne walk away.
When she opened the door, she was surprised to find the room dark. She tried to turn on her lights, but they didn't work. What did they do while she was gone?
She was about to chastise them.
