CHAPTER 55
When he arrived on the island, his mother greeted him. They hugged and went to her cottage, where she had prepared a meal. It was a pleasure to share this meal with her. After eating, he assisted her in washing the dishes, and then they went for a walk in the garden.
"You appear to have a lot on your mind. Tell your mother about it.”
"Does it show?"
"Of course, it does."
"Please don't be upset with me."
"I'm not going to, I promise."
So, he started telling his mother about Violet, how he proposed to her, and how she agreed.
"I'd always suspected it."
"Did you?"
"If I didn't, I'd be a fool or not your mother. She was gentle with you from the start, even bringing you here. I could see how worried you were every time you came in. You continued to stare at the mansion. Your body was here, but your heart belonged to her."
"Are you serious?"
"I don't have the authority to be. You are content, and that's all that matters right now. If you're happy, I'm happy."
"She is unable to bear children."
"What does it matter? If you want some, you can adopt some. Besides she already has two and you are still young.”
"I'll still love her despite everything. I just realized she keeps everything bottled up inside, and I didn't know what to do."
"She's already taken the first steps toward opening up. Didn't she tell you about it herself?"
"She did, indeed."
"Then everything is fine. She now trusts you, which is the foundation of any relationship. Do not betray that trust."
"Thank you very much, mother."
"Didn't you come all the way here just for that?"
"You're well acquainted with me. You see, I'd like you to make Violet a wedding gown."
"Is that correct?"
“Yes, I want it to be one-of-a-kind. I don't want her to wear anything white. She always wears it, and if she only wears one white dress, it won't feel like a wedding."
"What colors did you have in mind?"
"I'm going to force her to wear red, mother."
“What?”
"I now understand why she dislikes red, but I will gradually persuade her to like it until the wedding."
"When will it be?"
"It will be held in Tawland next month. Her godmother requested that we hold it there, so we will."
"Won't she be preparing the wedding gown?"
"I requested that the queen leave the dress to me. I wanted you to be the one to accomplish it. I'd be disappointed if you didn't make it. After all, you are the one who oversees all her clothes. Isn't it unfair if the dress is made by someone else?"
"It will be extremely unfair. So, other than red, what colors should I use?"
"Give it a red and gold color scheme. She's always soaring like a phoenix, so why don't you put a phoenix on her gown? She'll love it."
"Did you say how long I have until I need the dress?"
"You should be done with it in about six weeks."
"All right, I'll start preparing for it."
"I'll also buy you some clothes. You're coming with us."
"Of course, I can't miss my son's only wedding."
"However, the Darks will be present."
"I'm not into cars. It's not like they have any power over me."
"They will not be able to touch you."
"Come on, let's go back inside. Since you're here, please assist me in selecting some materials."
"Yes, ma'am."
They returned to the cottage and began looking for the right materials for Violet's wedding gown. This problem was only known to a small number of people. Anne, Leah, and his friends were aware of the royal family's knowledge.
He wanted it to be a surprise; he wanted to see that expression on her face where she doesn't know what to do again. It gave her the appearance of an innocent child who was unaware of what was going on around her.
Mike's company had just signed a contract with her company. They had acquired thirty percent of the shares because of the takeover, making her the second-largest shareholder. She was now seated with Mike and his father-in-law. They were having lunch because she refused to have dinner with them.
"We appreciate you coming to our aid."
"Don't get the wrong impression; it's strictly business."
"You've got one tough sister, Mike," his father-in-law said, but she cut him off right away.
"I am not his sister, and I don't want things to be complicated, so I will allow you to buy back your shares after a year when things have settled in the company. I don't want anything to do with any of you."
“Violet………..”
"Every word I say, Mike, I mean it. I spent millions of dollars to save you, and I need my money back, so work extremely hard and don't let my efforts go to waste."
"We understand."
"I'm afraid I won't be able to stay for lunch. Mike forgot that I don't like this type of steak, and it's too late to change the menu. I'll leave now that we've discussed everything. My people will handle any business between us, so please don't call me unless it's a life-or-death situation."
"You really hold grudges for long?" she asked as she stood up to leave when Mike interrupted her.
"Trust me, I'm even worse," she said as she exited the room.
She was starving, and they had no choice but to ruin her day. She was now in the lobby when she was summoned. She came to a halt and turned around to see Mr. Dark, Dylan's father. They'd never met face to face before, but now they were.
"I apologize for interrupting you. I hope I'm not causing you any problems."
"You are not.”
"All right, then. Have you had your lunch yet?"
"I'm afraid I can't."
"Then please come with me."
"Of course, why not?"
