CHAPTER 23
She stood up and was about to leave when Suzy suddenly exclaimed, "Violet, are you really seeing Dylan?"
“What?”
“I saw you and him at the club the other night. Is that true?”
“Let's just mind our own business, okay? You need to get some rest tonight because you didn't have your bachelorette party but instead had dinner with us. I'm leaving,” she said as she walked out of the house.
She overheard Suzy telling everyone about what had happened that day; she was going to freeze that girl's tongue one way or another since she has a loudmouth and didn’t take her warning seriously.

He was nervous as he waited at Violet's mansion door; Anne had called him the day before, telling him that he was to come to the mansion and accompany Violet to the wedding.
“You may enter,” Anne said as she walked out of the master bedroom.
“Are you not going to come in?”
“No, I have a wedding to prepare for. Just go ahead and do it; she doesn't like to be kept waiting.”
“All right, thanks,” he said as he entered the room.
The atmosphere was great as usual, and the incense burning inside the room was something he'd never smelled before. He was used to perfumes, but incense was something he had never heard of.
“There you have it! I thought you were going to turn me down, and I was going to use that as an excuse to punish your mother,” Violet exclaimed.
“Are you sure you can do that?”
“I can do whatever I want as long as I put my mind to it.”
“I was going to ask you anyway, even if you didn't.”
“Why?”
“I'd like to give you something.”
“Is it for me?”
“I have a confession.”
“Did you do something terrible that necessitates your confession this early in the morning?”
“Perhaps,” he said, taking out his gift bag and handing it to her.
She took the box from the bag and opened it.
“It's a piece of jewelry. Most of my jewels are purchased there.”
“I noticed that, too.”
“You are an ingenious young man.”
“You compel me to do that.”
“It gives me great pleasure to know that I can bring out the best in people.”
“You're always doing it.”
He smiled brightly as he watched her open the box.
“This is a man after my own heart. How did you find out I didn't have any new pearls?”
“An assisting hand. I'm not going to reveal my secret.”
“Assist me in putting it on. It looks great with my outfit. I was having trouble deciding what jewelry to wear. You are a gift from God.”
“I know,” he replied confidently.
“So, what's your confession?”
“Would you like to go out with me?”
“Um! What exactly does that mean?”
“Be my girlfriend!” he said it out even though he was so nervous and shaking in his pants.
“I can't believe what I'm hearing. You want me to be your girlfriend. I'm the right age to be your aunt. In addition, I have a daughter your age.”
“I don't mind. According to what I've heard, love knows no age.”
“Are you doing this to get me to be gentle with you because of our contract?” she asked curiously as she didn’t think that she possess anything that will make such a young fine man be interested in her.
“Everything I say is true. I can prove to you that you are, in fact, a witch. You always know what you want,” he persuaded her.
“You know I'm one, and yet you're saying those words to me!”
“Would you mind thinking about it?” he begged, he was truly serious about her.
He didn’t know when she came into his heart and occupied it but all he knew was that he wanted to be with her and even if he must kneel and beg for her attention, he was willing to go all the way.
“Wait a minute, are you not seeing the girl who has been cheating on you the whole time?”
“I finished everything with her the day before,” he confessed and didn’t hide a single thing.
“Ah, yes, I see. Help me up, I need to check myself because it's almost time for us to leave for the venue.”
He helped her up, and she stood in front of that enormous mirror, staring at herself. Regardless of what she put on her body, she looked more beautiful every day. In contrast to the engagement party, she was dressed in a white and sky-blue gown with no straps that flowed about one meter down the floor and displayed the bright blue flowers on the tail.
Because the pearls were not overly large but of a suitable size, they simply became a part of the outfit.
“You look beautiful,” he couldn't stop himself from saying, complimenting her sincerely and with all his heart.
“I know, darling; I was exquisitely crafted,” she shamelessly bragged without a hint of shyness.
“I consider myself fortunate to be in love with a woman like you.”
“Did you just notice?”
“Wait a minute. Is that what you meant when you said you believed my confession?”
“I didn't say anything like that, let us not argue any longer. Bring my coat, and let's get out of here.”
"Yes, ma'am."
He immediately noticed the mink coat and brought it to her. He took her hand in his and led her out of the room. There was something odd about her hands; they weren't particularly warm or cold. They had their own temperature, which he found amusing.
Everything about her makes him laugh from the start as if he's been enchanted by a spell. On the way, they passed Anne, who was dressed in gold and looked stunning. At this rate, she'd find a suitor.
“Anne, you look stunning.”
“Thank you and you are too.”
“I am a fortunate young man to be able to accompany such lovely ladies to such a grand wedding,” he felt very proud as a man.
“Not a word, darling,” Violet interjected.
He assisted her in getting into the limousine and made her feel at ease by offering her a bowl of ice cream. Anne gave them a tip; it appeared that she was shipping for them.
“I smell a rat,” Violet said as she ate her ice cream.
Violet didn't concentrate as she made the trip to the White House because she was too busy eating ice cream like a child. They finally arrived, and the crowd had already gathered, ready to bless the young couple.
“You're the one who's escorting her today, so you know what to do,” Anne left Violet in Dylan’s care.
Violet's disease of being held was already manifesting itself, but he was not going to object; after all, this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to accelerate things between him and her.
