CHAPTER 21

The man was having financial difficulties, so she assisted him in obtaining funds and forming trustworthy allies; the same thing occurred during his presidential campaign. He was now in that office, and he was doing an excellent job. He entered the office and took the seat across from hers.

“I apologize for keeping you waiting.”

“It's fine, I heard you were interested in seeing me.”

“Yes, it is about the children.”

“What about them?"

“I heard you had a fight and won't be able to attend the wedding. Would you please come? The kids would not have met if it hadn't been for you,” the man asked politely as he didn’t want to be on the bad side of this woman.

“That is possible. However, as we all know, everyone has their own destiny. I appreciate your candor, Sir, but I can't put on a happy face at a wedding when I'm accused of attempting to steal your son. He may be special to her, but not to me. What does it matter if I attend or not?” she asked sarcastically as the thought of attending that wedding drove her crazy just thinking about it.

“I've mentioned you to someone, and that person wants to meet you; the princess of Tawland is coming tomorrow, and she wants to see you. I'm not sure where she saw you, but she'll be there tomorrow. Your visit may have a significant impact on this country. I beg you because it's you, or else...” the man dragged his words as he couldn’t utter them.

“Utilize force! It does not affect me. I'll go to the wedding because a princess is waiting for me. Is there anything else?” Violet was so angry when speaking with this man.

“Nothing at all, thank you for agreeing,” the man spoke with embarrassment. He knew what he just did already put a crack in their relationship but what else can he do?

“We might become family, so don't use that to force me to do something; you wouldn't like me when I'm angry, Sir. Take care of my younger sister when she joins your family.”

“I promise I'll look after her.”

“My pleasure,” she said as she stood up, shook his hand, and exited the office.

On her way out, she ran into Damon, who noticed her and approached her.

“What are you doing here, Violet?”

“I'm conducting some business. Why do you ask?”

“Suzy was looking for you; she apologized and asked you to come to the wedding tomorrow.”

“Is that so?”

“Then tell her she knows where she can find me. An apology should always be delivered in person; I despise messengers the most. Congratulations, I take my leave,” she said and left him there with his mouth wide open, stunned by what he had just heard. Those two were quite a pair.

This time, she received a direct phone call from her mother, and she answered directly annoyed already, "Mom! What is it?”

“Could you please come home; I need to speak with you?” her voice sounded a bit pleading which was rare.

“All right, I'll be there in thirty minutes,” she agreed seeing how nice the other person was acting.

“All right, I'll make you some food.”

“Okay. I'm hanging up,” she said, calling her driver to take her to her parents' house.

"Yes, ma'am."

“What does grandma want?” Anne wanted to know since her grandma was just so complicated to read.

“When we get there, we'll see,” even Violet was also curious.

Laura approached him as he stood near his car.

“I was missing you, man. Don't ever leave again without saying anything.”

“I promise I won't.”

“Did you get your answers?”

“Yes, I did get them. Thanks.”

“Friends are what Dylan needs. But, hey, didn't you tell your girlfriend you'd be gone?”

“She is not my girlfriend, but I need your assistance with something.”

“Okay, what do you need assistance with?” Laura asked.

“I need to buy something for a girl, but I'm not sure what.”

“It's easy. Is this for Rita?”

“Not at all, I need to see her tonight to clear things up. Let's go, thanks for the reminder.”

“Yes, sir.”

He opened the door for her and assisted her in sitting before getting into the car and driving to the mall. On his way, he made a dinner reservation with Rita. He'd go see her after he finished shopping.

When he arrived at the mall, he parked his car in the lot. He led Laura into the mall, where she took him to every store, pointing out items that women liked.

“Do you have any idea what she likes?”

“She enjoys a little glitz and glam, as well as jewelry.”

“Let's go to a good shop I know.”

The mall belonged to his family, but he was unfamiliar with it. When they arrived at this jewelry store, everything inside was of the highest quality. Violet's jewelry seemed to match some of the sets.

He approached the man behind the counter; he appeared to be more experienced than the girls who were staring at him lustfully. He couldn't stand those girls.

“Welcome, Mr. Dark,” he said.

“Do you know who I am?”

“It would be impolite if I didn't. How can I assist you today?”

“I'm looking for jewelry sets that a woman who enjoys head chains and the entire set can wear.”

“I believe I have an idea. Do you have any acquaintances with a Violet? When it comes to that type of jewelry, she is well-known.”

“Do you know her as well?”

“She is a frequent visitor. If you want something like that, let me know and I'll look for it.”

“All right, then, can you bring me the sets? I will give them a look.”

“All right,” the man said, instructing the girls to bring out the various sets that were laid out in front of him to inspect.

“Wow, this is stunning.”

“Every time we create a new design, we think about Violet coming to buy something. We don't want to let her down because she buys jewelry almost every week.”

“Doing so will be a huge mistake. So, which of these do you think she'll like?”

“Are you buying it for her, Mr. Dark?”

“I am, indeed. I just don't know what to choose. She possesses a great deal.”

“She has, indeed. How about this one?” the man asked, pointing to the pearls set.

“Pearls?”

“Yes, she hasn't bought pearls in a long time, and every woman adores pearls.

Because she is a white lady, they will go with almost anything she wears.”

“I can agree with you on that,” he said, turning to face Laura, who was staring at a diamond set, “Hey, Laura!”

“Sorry, couldn't help myself,” she said as she turned her head and looked at him, “did you find anything?”

“Yeah, check out this set. Is it lovely?”

“I adore it; it's one-of-a-kind and ideal for mature women. Dylan, are you seeing someone older?” Laura couldn’t help but ask excitedly, wondering what this friend of hers was up to.

“How come you're asking?” he directed the question at Laura before looking at the man helping him, “Sir, please hand over the pearl set to me and wrap the diamond set for her. I'll pay with my credit card.”

“All right, let me wrap them up for you.”
