CHAPTER 61
She and her bodyguards exited the club, and the club's order was restored.
“I'm sorry for the mess everyone. The drinks are on me, and if you write down your information, my daughter will compensate you for your loss," she said, referring to their smashed cell phones.
She gave Anne instructions before leaving the club with her bowl of ice cream. He couldn't stop himself from smiling. Was love truly as blind as it is said to be? He'd rather go blind than let this one go. He led Laura outside, where he discovered Violet still feeding herself in her limo.
"How did she know?" he inquired of Leah, who was outside the car.
"I'm not sure. She had just awoken and was so enraged that the next thing we knew, we were already here."
"Were you not terrified to see all of that?"
"No, I wasn't. I am aware that my mother is unique. Besides, this is nothing more than what I saw one day," Leah said quietly.
"What exactly did she do?"
"Did you ever see her fly?"
"Is she capable of doing that?"
"Of course, she can. I thought I was hallucinating, but it was her. She appeared to be floating in mid-air, her arms spread and her hair floating like a ghost. That was the scariest thing I've ever seen, but it's her, so there's no reason to be afraid of anything. She will go to any length to protect us. Why? Because she cares about us."
"She genuinely cares about us. Aren't we fortunate?"
"We are, indeed. So please take care of her while I'm gone and have another baby," she begged again.
"I will make certain of it," he added quietly.
"What are you two conspiring about?" Violet inquired unexpectedly.
"Tawland," Leah replied.
“Oh. Really? That's fine, then. I'm already stuffy. How about we all walk back to the mansion and have Laura join us for dinner tonight?" Violet suggested as she looked at Laura.
"That would be fantastic. Thank you very much," Laura said.
"Then let's go, and please drive slowly towards the mansion, my lovely driver. I may need the ride later," Violet said as she exited the limo.
"I will, ma'am," he replied.
Dylan took Leah's hand in his, and they all started walking towards the gate that led to the mansion. On the way, he assisted Leah in singing the songs she desired, which made many of them laugh and join in on the fun. Violet laughed as Leah sang, and she appears to be much more relaxed and at ease now. Violet was a complicated woman, wasn't she?
They had arrived in Tawland, and Dylan was relieved because he had seen with his own eyes that everything was going so well with the wedding. The only problem was that Violet quickly left a day after they arrived.
Whatever it was, it appeared to be very important but kept a secret. Anne was left behind because she didn't bring anyone with her except her personal bodyguard. Something was fishy, but he preferred to wait rather than inquire about the specifics.
He was out for a walk when he came across Nia, who appeared to be happier than him.
"What's going through your mind?"
"The good news is that all invitations have already been sent, and the date has been set earlier."
"When will it be?"
"Within two weeks. Will the gown be ready by then?"
"My mother said she was almost done, so it will be."
"Then all that remains is for her to walk down the aisle."
"You are correct."
"I hope you don't mind me asking, Dylan, but are you really alright?"
"Why do you ask?"
"You haven't felt well since Violet left."
"I just miss her, but I'll be fine."
"You're all screwed up, man. I hope you'll be able to get back on your feet soon."
"I will do so. Nia, thank you for the update."
"Sure, I have to go," Nia said as she walked away.
Violet did not call him, and she was also unavailable. She didn't want to be found, wherever she was, and with that thought in his head, he wasn't feeling well.
"Mr. Dark, the queen has requested to see you."
"Of course, take me there."
He tracked down the maid and found her in the queen's salon. She offered him a seat, which he accepted, and he received some beverages and snacks before the maids left the room.
"You don't appear to be in good health, Dylan. Are you ill or what?"
"I'm fine, or I'll be fine. My mind is jumbled right now."
"Does my daughter cause you any problems?"
"Not at all. I just can't get in touch with her, and I'm worried."
"She is a woman of secrets, so get used to it. I may have adopted her, but I know less about her than you do, but one thing is certain: she is not a bad person. She isn't the type to get into mischief, and if she does, I believe she can handle herself. So, stop whining and focus on making the wedding a success."
"I will not let you down."
"How's the red thing coming along?"
'We've come a long way. She was still wearing the bracelet when she left; it's fine so far."
"That's a good thing because it'd be bad if she couldn't wear her own wedding gown."
"Don't worry, I'll keep working on it."
"I know you won't let me down. She fell for you because you are a man enough."
"I got lucky, and I promise to make your daughter happy every day."
"You better hurry because we Garbera’s hold grudges for a long time, and it won't end well. Violet already has those genes, she's terrifying, and I wouldn't add another person to my list."
"So, make certain that you keep your promise."
"I'll do it."
"I almost forgot why I summoned you here. I need you to accompany my youngest son to a location and assist each other. He'll fill you in on the details."
"When will it be?"
"Anytime today. So, go ahead and get ready; someone will call for you."
