CHAPTER 63

There were some rumors among the people that Qontessah had so many guards around her not for her own protection but for the protection of those around her. Therefore, the island was constantly recruiting people who were solely handled by Xander.

She was cruel and was labeled a witch, but Qontessah was eviler and more frightening than she was. If she is a white witch, then Qontessah was a dark or black witch, a true agent of darkness, but when she thinks about it, she still has a good heart.

She felt stronger the moment she gulped down the contents of the bottle. It was a success, and she smiled at her.

"I heard you've got a fiancé and another daughter, Violet. Congratulations," said Qontessah.

“Thank you,” she replied.

"That's why I prepared another present for you. When you leave, Xander will give it to you."

"I appreciate your concern."

"Not a problem," she said, looking at them all, "you may now return to your respective homes and complete your tasks, or else there will be dire consequences."

"Yes, your grace!" they all exclaimed at once.

They parted ways, and Violet was on her way to her car when Xander arrived.

“Congratulations. She may not express it, but she is very proud of your accomplishments. You did not disappoint her."

"Thank you for saying that," she said.

Xander handed her a large, wrapped box and instructed her to open it in two weeks, not a day earlier. He stated that she will know when to open the box, but not now. Receiving a gift with an expiration date was a first for me. The only thing on her mind as she was being driven off the island was what would happen in two weeks.

She didn't return to Tawland, but instead went back to Dixing to finish a task.

"Would you like to return to the mansion, ma'am?" Terry inquired.

"Bring me to Viper."

"As soon as possible."

She closed her eyes and allowed Terry to drive her to Martin. Martin was already waiting for her when she arrived.

"Welcome," he said, motioning for them to come this way.

She followed him into his office, where she sat in one of those chairs.

"Do you want me to give you something?"

"Some juice will do," she said, and Martin poured some for her.

"So, how can I assist you today?"

"I need you to find me three girls, preferably younger but not younger than ten. But look for those who have no attachments and will be missed by no one."

"If you say so, I should be very grateful. That reminds me, your birthday is coming up in two weeks. What do you want me to get you?"

"Is it my birthday? It's no surprise she said in two weeks."

"Every year, you seem to forget it."

"Aren't I a mess?"

"Not really, but it's good," he said, changing the subject, "I looked into the congress issues, and there is definitely something fishy going on."

"Tell me!" she demanded.

"They are refusing to pass a bill that President Linken wants, apparently because they have some grudges against the old man, but we have some things on them, and it is already on its way."

"I need you to make sure they're all on the same page and get this bill passed because I need that old man off my back, or I'll go insane."

"I'll do anything for you, Violet."

"Now that we've finished here, I need to go back to the mansion and rest."

“Okay, I'll keep you updated."

She left the company after her conversation with Martin and returned to her mansion. When she arrived at her mansion, the maids had already prepared her usual bath, and she jumped right into it. After a long day, it felt good to feel the warm water against her skin. She closed her eyes and waited for the herbal water to work its magic.

Dylan returned to Dixing with Anne after wrapping things up in Tawland. He was surprised to see Violet at the mansion, especially since she hadn't called ahead of time. After Anne had finished seeing Violet, he went into her room and discovered her in bed.

"You look stunning. I miss you," he said as he sat on the bed next to her.

"I missed you, too," she said as she looked at him.

"Are you alright? You left so quickly."

"Don't be concerned; everything is fine."

"I'll believe you if you say so."

"I know you're worried, but you'll understand why I'm doing this someday."

"I believe in you, so why are you in bed this late afternoon?"

He is sleeping next to her and holding her hands.

"There was an upgrade while you were gone. Your adopted family wanted to celebrate your 34th birthday with you."

“Oh! It's my birthday, I almost forgot about it again. If that's what they want, that's fine; I get to spend time with Leah, so there's nothing to worry about. Let's do it that way," she suggested.

"Good, I expected you to refuse."

"How can I say no to something like that? Do you want her to go crazy on me?"

"It's good you're aware of her temper, but let's forget about it. I've brought you something," he explained.

"Is that another red bracelet?"

"How about we get out of bed, and I'll take you to your gift?"

“Okay. I'm curious to see what you brought. Please assist me in getting out of bed.”

He assisted her in getting out of bed and escorted her to his room. He closed her eyes and led her to the bed, where her present awaited her. He took his hands away from her and told her to open her eyes, which she did.

"Dylan, are you serious?" she exclaimed.

"Do you like it, or did I make a huge blunder?"

"It looks lovely, but..."

"I know, so how about I assist you in putting it on?"

"Let's see how this goes," she said, stretching her arms.

He helped her take off her gown and put on the red gown. When he was out with Neil, he saw it in a boutique and couldn't help but buy it.
