CHAPTER 57

As a result, they surrounded her and formed a shield around her. She was walking in the center, surrounded by them. They were overprotective, but she was content. Someone once threw a tomato at her while she was walking down the street. She has never walked the streets alone since that day.
"Are you absolutely certain you want to do this?" Terry enquired of her personal bodyguard.
"You're here, I'm fine, and if they do anything else, I'll just......"
"Please don't do it. We will keep you safe."
"Thank you, Terry."
She started walking around because it felt so good. She could hear people whispering and taking pictures, but she was unconcerned about any of it. No one was going to ruin this special moment for her.
On her way, she came across an elderly woman who was clearly struggling but was selling on the streets. How difficult can life be for people? She came to a halt, took out some bills, and handed them to her.
The woman thanked her and continued walking. She went to another convenience store and purchased some ice cream. Her final stop was at the public park.
She came to a halt, sat on a bench, and enjoyed the scenery and ice cream. She was looking at families having a good time and children playing. Should she consider getting Leah some younger siblings?
She should just forget about it now that Dylan was in the picture. She shouldn't go around adopting children without Dylan's knowledge.
"Ma'am, the time has come. We should return to the mansion right now."
"All right, let's go."
She exited the park and made her way to the waiting limousine. She climbed into the limo, and the driver drove away.
"Can you tell me what's on your mind?" Dylan inquired of Violet.
"I was out for a walk yesterday and came across this elderly lady. Suddenly, I want to go to a few hospitals and old people's homes."
“Why?”
"I have a lot of money to spend and have already made enough to last several generations. I'm in the mood to do a good deed today."
"If that makes you happy, let's do it."
"Are you certain?"
"I'd like to see my queen happy. If you are sad, it will affect me as well."
"That's why I adore you, and I just met your father. I promised him we'd have dinner together the next day."
“Really? That's great news. Thank you for agreeing."
"We're a family."
"So, let us go out there and do a good deed."
Violet was having one of those days where she felt all troubled, and she always found it troublesome. Something was seriously wrong somewhere, and she had to figure out what it was.
They left the mansion after Violet made a few phone calls, and he was taken aback when they arrived at one of the country's largest wholesalers. He was surprised to see the company's president in attendance.
"Hello, Violet. It's good to see you again."
"It's the same here. Did you prepare what I requested?"
"You may proceed and have your men inspect the goods."
"Take me to them."
"Please, this way."
Violet followed the young man inside, where there were heaps of food cartons.
"Count everything and compare it to see if it matches. And get the trucks ready because we have a lot of places to go today."
While her people and the wholesaler's employees counted the goods, she was busy looking around for things that might be of interest to her, but nothing was new to her.
It didn't take long for them to finish counting and begin loading the trucks with food. Anne paid the bill, and they drove to the first hospital. They were even reporters when they arrived, much to her surprise. What were they doing here?
Fortunately, when she stepped out of the limo, her bodyguards shielded her from the danger.
"You didn't have to go to this length, Director. I'm not staying; I'm just dropping off the food and seeing a few people before leaving."
"I apologize for the uproar, but the superiors demanded it. Please accept my apologies, Ms. Garbera."
"We can't weep over spilled milk, can we?”
"Could you please come this way?"
"Sure, thank you," she replied, turning to Anne, "tell the men to work with the hospital staff and offload the first truck. We'll be on our way in less than an hour."
“Okay, I'll tell them right now."
"Come on, hurry up and join me."
"Yes, ma'am."
She followed the hospital director and was given a tour of the facility.
"We would have received you properly if you had given us notice sooner."
"Director, that's how I do things. When I think about it, I do something about it. Please show me where the elders are."
"Sure, this way please."
She nearly cried as she followed him to the elderly section. Most of them were homeless and had no one to look after them.
Even though most of them were sent to these care home facilities, if they become ill and the government does not have the funds to pay for them, the outcome will be disastrous.
She returned outside, where the other reporters were, after seeing them. She then had a brilliant idea because she knew how much these higher-ups valued her.
"Can we speak with you, Ms. Garbera?" a female reporter asked from behind the others.
She appeared to be being pushed to the back. What kind of people can do that to someone who wants to live?
"Please make room for that young reporter," she said, drawing everyone's attention.
Everyone made way for her, and she took her place at the front.
"What do you want to inquire about?"
"What prompted you to donate to the hospital today?"
“Let’s see, do you have any children?"
"I do, indeed. Why do you ask?”
"It's the same for me. I have a family; it used to be small, but one day it grew so large that I realized the responsibilities had grown as well. But I am fortunate to have a family that can care for itself, a family that people love and continue to take care of, but there are less fortunate, who cannot afford things as we do.
When I sit and drink a two-dollar beverage to cool down, someone else is counting on that amount to feed their entire family. So, why can't I just do this kind of deed and fill their stomachs? They are still people, just like me, and we must care for our elderly and children."
"Others usually do this to gain fame or something like that......" Violet didn't let her finish her sentence.
