CHAPTER 50

She arched her hips and parted her thighs to accept him. As he pushed into her, her body opened to him, their eyes locked. She felt herself stretching and filling as his heat and power penetrated her, going deeper and deeper into her until they were one.

"Mine," he said quietly, "you're mine, Violet."

He moved inside her, first with slow and gentle strokes, then with a fierce, urgent, thrusting hunger as their desires took control. As she got closer to releasing herself, she cried out for him. They both exploded at the same time, just like one person.

They lay still, hands intertwined, fingers locked in a lover's knot, whispering to each other. Sleep clung to her lids, dewy and enticing.

It's been a few weeks since he's seen his family again. Even his stepmother liked him, possibly because she knew the type of person Violet was.

Since she was adopted by the Gerbera’s, a lot more people had been trying to get on her good side, and what was even more interesting was how Mike Grant kept calling Violet and was so eager to meet her, but Violet never answered or met the man.

He must have been desperate to return. His father unfroze his bank accounts and returned his cars and apartment to him. He didn't want to go back to the apartment because he was used to spending every day with the love of his life.

There were only two weeks left until the semester, and thus his third year ended. He was going to take a two-month break before returning to school, and he planned to fix everything during that time. He went to the jewelry store after his lectures and left his promised ring.

"It's good to see you again, Mr. Dark."

"It's a mutual feeling. I've come to pay and collect the ring."

"Is everything all right now?"

“Absolutely! I couldn't do any better," he said as he handed the man his black card.

The man swiped and gave him his card and receipt before taking out the ring. It had been tweaked and looked lovely; he just hoped she wouldn't turn him down. The man placed it in a white box embellished with crystals. Is this how all rings come?

He was perplexed.

"In response to your question. No, this is something for you and the special woman; because I know what she likes, I figured it would help her accept it faster."

"You can also read people's minds. I adore you, and I thank you. I believe she will say yes at the first trial."

"Best wishes."
He exited the store and walked to his car. He was about to leave when he got a call from his sister; they needed him home, so he drove home instead of to the mansion. When he arrived, dinner was already on the table, which was fortunate because he was starving. When he took his seat, he greeted his parents and siblings.

"You should come here frequently. We haven't had dinner together in a long time."

"I will definitely come," he said, taking a bite of his food, “next time, you should bring Violet. You haven't yet introduced her to us."

"I'll do it when she's not so busy."

“Busy?”

"Yes, she is currently overburdened with work and personal matters."

"Oh, I didn't realize she had people for that."

"She has, but she still prefers to handle other matters on her own. Her youngest daughter is leaving for Tawland in about two weeks, so she is preparing."

"Didn't you just return from there? What is she doing going there?"

"Leah will live with her godparents until she graduates from high school. The queen apparently likes Leah and has asked Violet to stay with her."

"She probably can't send her daughter to a stranger."

"She isn't one, and that is her business. What matters is that no one can harm anyone who belongs to Violet because she goes insane when it comes to family."

"And how about the Grants?"

"They disowned her. They are no longer related anyway, and if she ever comes here, don't say anything about them."

"You seem to have a good understanding of her son."

"I do; after all, I live with her."

"That makes me think of something. Are you going to live your life like that?"

"What exactly do you mean?"

"I mean, she's already old, and from what I've heard, women all want to marry, and you're only twenty-one. What do you think will happen to you if she decides to marry?"

"It makes no difference because I am prepared."

"What exactly does that mean?"

"I'm going to propose to her. I can postpone other things, but not this one. I know I'm still a student, but I promise you I will never let you down, so please let me marry her."

"Are you really that desperate to be with her?"

"I'm not going to be able to live without her."

"I then give you, my blessings. I have a feeling you'll go ahead with it even if I don't agree."

"I'm glad you know who I am, Dad."

Dylan had just finished eating and was in his old room when his sister entered.

"What exactly are you doing in here?"

"I just wanted to apologize for acting like that all these years. I was simply envious and couldn't accept that my father had feelings for someone other than my mother."

"It's fine, that's how life is."

"You're quick to forgive."

"It's better this way because if I don't, I'll have regrets for the rest of my life. I don't want to live in agony over something that happened in the past."

"I'm dying to meet her right now. Am I allowed to go to the club?"

"Sure, as long as you follow the club rules. And if you come, just call me; you might get to meet her."

"Sure, I'll do it. I have a job to do, so I'll leave you now."

Diana had left the room, leaving him alone once more. Violet was then called.

“Babes!”
