CHAPTER 46

"I'm just planning for the future."

"You had better. Now that your lady is a princess, you must step up your game and be serious."

"I figured so. Where have Laura and Sam gone?"

"Laura is probably packing her belongings, and Sam was making a phone call."

"Are you still packing?"

"I've already packed my bags. I just wanted to check in and see what you were up to."

"I am a good man, thank you."

"I'll give you a hint. Violet is alone in the back garden; go and see her."

"How about you?"

"I still have unfinished business with a young lady."

“Anne?”

"I'm not sure what's wrong with her, but I'm going to win her."

"You still haven't, after all this time?"

"I'm going insane, but like you, I'm not going to give up. I love her."

"Keep up the good work, brother. I have to leave; I'll see you later."

“Later, then.”

Dylan left the lounge where he was relaxing to look for Violet outside the palace. She was alone in the back garden, just as Taylor had said. So, he took his time approaching her, trying not to be heard, but who was he kidding? Violet, after all, was her name.

"You found me," she said without even turning her head.

"I'll always find you," he promised.

He approached her, sat down beside her, and took her hand in his.

"Can you tell me what you're thinking?"

“You.”

"Did I make another mistake?"

“No, you didn’t. I'm just thinking about the future, and it's time for you to mature."

“What do you mean? I don't get it."

"Whether forced or willingly, it is time to make amends with your family."

“What?”

"Your father clearly loves you, but I'm not so sure about your stepmother. Martin will be waiting for you when you return tomorrow. He will provide you with specific instructions and documents to read. Do as you're told, and you'll get the answers you've been looking for all this time."

“You want me to confront my father?”

"Yes, you must. Only after meeting him, will you know which path to take, leaving no regrets behind, as I did."

“Okay, I'll do what you say. So, how long will you be in Queensland if you leave tomorrow?"

"No more than three days. Leah will be returning home soon, and I don't want her to be alone with maids."

"I'll be there as well."

"I know, but you can't always babysit her. Dylan, you have responsibilities. And it's time to man up, or you're not going to be with me any longer!"

"No, it's not like that at all. I will not disappoint you."

"You'd better not, Dylan," she said, resting her head on his shoulders and closing her eyes.

Looking at her revealed only one thing: she had been planning to tell him in this manner for quite some time. Violet's personality made him wonder what she had in store for his father.

Leah was sobbing in her sister's arms; she despised the prospect of being separated from her sister, but her mother assured her that she would return to her as soon as possible.

Violet and Anne greeted her with kisses and hugs before she boarded the royal jet. His friends boarded the plane one by one, leaving him as the only one standing. Violet approached him and came to a complete stop in front of him.

"When I return home, I need you to show me a mature side of yourself. Set everything aside and don't let me interfere because if I do, I'll make them regret every decision they've ever made. Do you get what I'm saying?"

"Of course, I do."

"All right, then. Please do not call me because I will not take your calls until I have good news."

“V........”

"Now get on the plane, I have to leave as well."

“Can I give you a hug?”

"No," she said as she took a step away from him.

He could tell she was serious about business. He glanced at Anne, who simply shook her head, and boarded the plane. He found a seat next to Leah, who was overjoyed.

“You look sad. Did you fight with Mommy?"

"We don't fight, so no cupcakes. I already miss her."

"Me, too," Leah admitted, tears streaming down her cheeks. He wiped her tears away and consoled her.

The plane finally took off, and he gazed out the windows as it flew higher into the sky. His mind was racing with these questions, and the answers would be waiting for him when he arrived.

They arrived at the airport and quickly cleared immigration; cars were already waiting for them. Her three companions were driven to their destination, whereas he and Leah were driven to the mansion.

Martin was the one who returned them. After her meal, the maids assisted Leah in washing and going to bed because she had school the next day. He was in Violet's office with Martin, who appeared to be quite frightening.

"I sinned against her and caused her unimaginable pain, but thanks to her, I'm still alive and well. She may appear that way, but she is a good person on the inside, which is why if you ever cause her any slight pain, I will kill you with my bare hands."

"Damn you, man. Why do you sound so much like her? I will never do anything to harm her. I adore her and would go to any length for her. In any case, she owns my life."

"Did you sign yourself away?"

“I did and I am at her disposal.”

"Young man, you have guts, and I admire that. Let's get this party started."

"All right, what do you have for me?"

"You should be finished reading these files by tomorrow morning. I need you to understand everything that is going on in your father's business, and then we will continue this conversation without touching anything else in this office."
